Lol, I could see a 'mini-keys' version of Minimoog Model D popping...
...a 2 oscillator 'Mother 32' could be a nice bonus as well.

Actually the M32 has some neat tricks in that department, ie the LFO will work at audio rates and track CV quite well, likewise the filter will resonate and track CV. With a bit of work you can probably get it to play chords :-)

Being prone to gloom and innately suspicious of corporations, I have a bad feeling as to how this might play out.

Animoog isn’t a purchase of an app like model d and 15, you have to buy the iap upgrade from the base app. With moog issues with IAP in the past I’m glad I don’t have to be concerned with restoring an app as IAP, (same with subscriptions to me) in case there are worse issues as others said who knows what that means for app store etc and if it’s not a concern to you, then don’t be concerned about iap . Animoogs just as good as the others, but I just would have bought it as an app, not an IAP in case a restore files like I’ve seen so many times )

Is this a thing? I’ve never heard of anyone having issues, it’s always worked just fine for me. I definitely would to not have Animoog/Z. One of my favorite synth apps.

Apparently : it’s the only reason I didn’t get it. I read review and reviews after reviews and quite a few people said their moog purchases couldn’t be restored and it was an App Store problem so I didn’t want that to happen: I lost IAP once before because of some company change and apple couldn’t do a thing about it so I didn’t want to repeat

I want animoog full . I only have a few presets and they are the best sounding

That’s a bummer. This is the first I heard about it, I know a lot of people use it so odds are it would be just fine. Couldn’t you always ask for a refund if things go awry?

The Moog interactive website mentioned in this thread is loads of fun.

I entertained my inner 5 year old for a couple of hours building a minimoog this evening. B)

Finally a Moog I can afford

Typical problem when using too much white glue. It's mom's fault. She took away the crazy glue after a certain incident involving my kid brother and the toilet seat. I don't know why she got so pissed over a lousy little skin graft. 😖

I’m sure that’s a big part of it. For the most part, Moog has a very good reputation in the iOS world.

  • Back those apps up just in case. Jack the Cunt strikes again

  • major bummer. who knows though, if they are able to keep production cost down by moving to Asia, but still maintain quality, could be a huge influx of new moog users, which will hopefully lead to more development

  • It would be nice to hear from @MoogMusicInc regarding all the wonderful apps we've been blessed with?!

    What will happen with them?
Will they face the same doom as all the PPG apps??

I'm prepared to boycott inMusic for good...

  • edited September 2023

Moog is effectively dead now. This would’ve happened eventually because we live in a world where costs matter. But there are a lot of good programmers and engineers who are now free to pursue other opportunities. They should try to out-Behringer Behringer.

  • As far as any existing products are concerned time will tell I guess, but it definitely seems like one chapter is over.

  • I feel like now is the time to buy Moog gear if you’ve hesitated up to this point. I’ve been eyeing a used Little Phatty for a minute. Anyone else antsy to buy a real Moog before the fake Moogs start production? 😂

  • I bought the DFAM Mother-32 studio recently just in case. I'm glad I did, it's fantastic. Today I completed buying all the Moog apps (Animoog and preset packs). I'm set for Moog but I hate this kind of news.

I wish nothing but the worst for Jack and his ilk.

  • I managed to get a Werkstatt from them but most Moog stuff has just always been out of my price range. I imagine all the legit gear will skyrocket in price once the imposter stuff starts coming out. I always wanted a dfam but couldn’t afford it so that dream will probably stay a dream. At least there is Noir!

  • If you look at the history of acquisitions made by InMusic, none of this should come as a surprise. Their modus operandi appears to be to cut operational costs to the bone and milk the cow as long as it produces, without updates to existing software product lines and the bare minimum on support. I would expect few if any updates to the moog apps going forward. InMusic are shockingly anti-consumer, and it's unfortunate that such a storied brand as moog would get in bed with them.

  • Man this is so sad. I’m a huge Moog fanboy both hardware and software and I would hate to see them go down like this. All the innovation that’s come from the early Moog, Arp, and Buchla synths is staggering.

Safe to say I’m very prepared to boycott inMusic for life

  • It's all second-rate gear, so easy to boycott unless you're locked into MPC. https://www.inmusicbrands.com

Just note that some of their software brands are not listed on that page (e.g. 2getheraudio, Big Tick audio)

  • I think inMusic have a big impact on the products they absorb. They have taken everything I know of from first rate to sub part very quickly after acquisition. I don't know if they are evil but it seems pretty obvious they are not a musician's for musicians type company.

  • InMusic seems like an executives for their bank accounts type company, but I'm sure with such a wide range of products that there are diligent and talented people throughout, fighting against the tide.
