_I don’t know if it was just me, I only had a quick go this morning in between phone calls but I found the knobs were very slow to turn in both standalone and AUM…

What model of iPad do you have? If you go to the 'options page' (tap the 'cog' icon in the top left hand corner) and disable the 'scope' does this improve?

Air 3, and that worked, and now even re enabling it doesn’t change that. I even tried a new setup and it still worked fine… I hope that helps!

I sent an email to join the beta when the thread was created but never got an invitation? Anyone else?

I just sent them through :)

No worries at all, just heard peoples using it and wondering if it was full, or what have you. Cheers.

I didn’t get mine either. Did you end up getting yours?

You can’t do this in Logic already? I don’t understand why I need this. What’s the angle? What’s my benefit? I have sugarbytes drum computer…will that not obsolete this? I’m confused.

Afaik logic doesn’t have these type of envelopes that have a different attack and decay speed

  • Looks cool. But don't we have FAC Drumkit and the recently released King of Bass for punchy kicks and "808s" or is it past my bedtime and I'm clearly missing something here? 🤔

The plugins you mentioned are amazing, but this is a completely different beast! :)

It’s more of a mono-synth that can be used for percussion, kicks drums, heavy bass sounds or fat leads etc.

The synth is based on a high quality wavetable oscillator with FM and wave-shaping, an analog modelled filter with saturation, plus a layer section based on a model of the supersaw oscillator found in the Roland JP-8000. It also has a bank of 8 flexible multi stage envelopes. Tbh it’s fairly unique! :)

It’s still in beta so more details will be available on release. We are super excited about this one!

  • @Freeco About the saving preset issue, I restarted and the issue is gone, everything seems to save fine now and the presets sound just the way I created when recalling them :)

This plugin is much more powerful than Logic's kick synth .. more envelopes (basically every parameter has it's own envelope).

Drum computer is completely different beast, power of this on is that it is relatively simple, yet powerful. I really like this plugin, probably only thing in iOS which can be compared with it is FAC Drumkit (kick module innit)

@Freeco Is there a way to make a subfolder for the presets? I made 12 kicks and much more to come, but its getting a long list, and it’s a bit hard to scroll to the ‘save preset as’ this way. I need to organize this in a sub!

About the color theme. What if I am not in a pink mood today, would be nice to change the colors B)

Not currently, but yes I will add that! :)

I think it sounds good. And it would be great if it would be possible to share this folder with other users.

That does sound really good. :)

  • First impression of this is excellent, even though drums and bass are not generally something I get very excited about. I like the pink color, and the UI in general - at least it can be opened full screen in AUM and all the text is easy to read. It can also be scaled to smaller sizes though you could do some work on the scaling @Freeco because at some small sizes, everything is viewable, at other scalings the right side of the UI gets cut off.

Also nice to see a beta that has a cheat sheet. I always find it puzzling that many devs seem to expect people will beta test their apps properly before the dev has even explained the basics of how to use the app, particularly certain things that might not be obvious, so good work there too.

Some improvements could be made to the preset manager @Freeco - I will DM you some thoughts

    Cheers! Nice app

  • Would be nice by the way if the arrow buttons from the MODE section could cycle back to the start / end: eg, when you reach FM, forward arrow could take you to Fifth. And from Fifth, backwards arrow could take you back to FM.

    +1

Really liking this so far as well, I am working on a kick library B)

    Great!

  • This is super unique! bravo!

the only problem is the click you get when you play a note mid envelope.

@freeco i wrote you one question about possible improvement of frequency range (including example) of “punch” envelope, noticed that you are more active in this thread, somevenrually if you find some tine, please check my post here ;) thanks

I still don’t understand why kick drum only apps exist. Someone please enlighten me.

I have always felt the same way. But on my latest project, I went through every kick I had in Cubasis, GarageBand and Zenbeats, and none of them fit the vibe quite right. Then I grabbed Chow Kick, and was able to dial it in rather quickly. I usually don’t need a super specific sound like that, except that one project; but it’s possible some musicians find that level of control to be beneficial more often than I do.

Oh amazing! If you are up for sharing some of your patches in the final release that would be great!! Just send them over :)

Agreed the cheat sheet is super helpful and a great addition.

  • I will be awaiting some videos…

I believe not only kick only apps exist. But they have the right to exist. Think of the kick apps.

  • After many hours of tweaking and 50 home brew kicks later, be sure it’s not just for kicks alone but for squeaks, buzzes, fuzzes, and ploinks as well.

Lol, let's not start a kick drum app culture war, I think we had enough drama here in the past day or so 😂

Absolutely, I've had a huge amount of fun with this so far. It definitely passes whatever 'diversity' tests are currently a la mode

I must’ve missed all that. Too busy recording to pay attention. There are advantages to not paying attention sometimes. LOL.

By the way, whatever happened to the macOS Drumkit Fred Corvest had previewed like a year ago? I wonder if that’s still going to happen?
