  • Really enjoying this one so far. Definitely has its place among the 2 other kick focused apps on iOS. I’ve been getting some crazy sounds from it and it’s a lot of fun with some generative sequencers.

Dam. First go, and lost an hour easy, saved like four patches in AUM. Cool app. Love manipulating the main envelope and mixing with the second layer to get all kinds of cool bass, kick drum, 808, etc… sound combinations. Some deep booms and growls.

  • @Freeco Could you tell me if it is possible to export (and import) the user presets folder? I am saving my kicks now in a separate folder (user name/preset name), but how do I export this as a whole?

  • Maybe something any of you already discovered, but in case you have not, you can add (or remove) extra points to the curve by tapping on it :)

I have asked for this and more. Every synth / app needs batch import / export. I also really wish that mainstay ios devs would go back and add this to their older apps.

Still, this is a hella cool app, and dev seems very open to ideas 🔥

Yes, absolutely. I can’t imagine someone wants to import 50/60 kicks manually one by one :#

Of course they don't. From desktop devs I kind of understand how they might forget to add this, as they're used to the normal and highly functional desktop files system, but how so few longstanding ios devs have implemented this in their apps boggles the mind.

Is it pretentious to say I assumed that function to be there, lol. It was Mixed with 30% hope the first time I tried.

We are planning to add a full preset browser with tagging, favourites etc, but this won't be ready for the initial release.

I have changed the preset location in the latest version that is on TestFlight so that it uses the 'On My iPad' folder (existing user presets will be moved also). This means you can use the iPad's 'Files' app to select an entire folder of presets to compress and share. Just open the 'Files' app and go to the 'Thump One' folder in your 'On My iPad' folder and you will find the folder you created, then 'long press' on the folder and select 'Compress'. You can add new folders or organise existing one in the 'Files' app too.

  • The latest version also adds a 'Randomise Preset' function, which is available in the presets menu, or by tapping on the 'Thump One' logo.

@Freeco I created a lot of presets on an auv3 instance of Thumb One loaded in Apematrix. I saved everything inside Thumb One in a separate folder (folder name/preset name), but it is nowhere to be found in the Thumb One files folder on my ipad, only the original presets folders. Also my presets folder does not appear in the standalone version of Thumb One. So I created a subfolder in the standalone version, and indeed now it appears in the files folder, BUT.. the subfolder I created in the standalone does NOT appear in the auv3 instance in Apematrix! :# I tried restarting my iPad to see if it would make any difference, no luck.

Long story short; subfolder in auv3 instance is not saved to the folder on my iPad. Standalone version does save the subfolder, but this folder does not appear in menu of an auv3 instance.

Same thing over here, as of the update, I can’t find the presets I made thus far. I’m happy about the randomizer though haha

Ooooo I am a sucker for a good randomizer. Excited to test that out :)

@Freeco New punch envelope range is perfect, thanks for implementing my comment, it is vastly better now :+1:

  • Is it a contender for sub bass?

    Its not this app?

    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/56684/new-synth-app-coming-soon-beta-testers-needed

You can program bass, with drum synths.

Its Just if its ideal compared to other apps.

Yes, the AUv3 has it's own sandboxed (protected) storage area. I have changed it now so that both the AUv3 and the standalone versions use the sandboxed area for presets, but the standalone will export the entire 'Presets' folder of the AUv3, including all sub-folders into the 'On My iPad/Thump One/Exported Presets' folder'. That way you will be easily able to backup and share the presets that you made with the AUV3.

I've also added an 'Import Zip File' menu item which you can use to add a whole folder of presets in one shot.

The existing 'Presets' folder in 'On My iPad/Thump One' will no longer be used but will still be there if you need to access your existing presets made with the standalone. So hopefully no existing presets will be lost.

Yeah, it's really a 'kick-influenced' synth, but still just a synth and it's really great for gnarly sub basses!

Cool! I also added a 'Mutate Preset' menu item that just randomizes the current reset by a small amount for variation.

I will upload the new version tomorrow :)

    Thanks.

    Will buy.

Does it have range for hi hats?

Can the synth engine automate via drambo, without mega hassle to edit.

Maybe a few points or just a point in a curve.

Unsure yet, if its best to automate or not. Fluid vs per step.

Is the app about same cpu as fac drum?
