@Gavinski did I hear you correct, noinput may rank higher than pianoteq in your world?

I mean they're very different and at totally different price points too, let's just say I really love both! Definitely not everyone will like both. If you like experimental stuff NoInputMixer is really worth getting imo though!

I would argue Pianoteq is equally good for experimental music. I’ve made some pretty crazy stuff with it lol now I want to try the 2 of them together. Or Pianoteq through Lines 🤩

Ah for sure, with so many instruments pianoteq should have a far wider appeal than it seems to have on this forum, and you can make experimental music with any instrument. Definitely! And the the morph feature and ability to tweak more parameters that you get with the Standard license is most definitely appealing to experimentalists.

I’m planning on releasing an album on Bandcamp Friday next week and I’d say at least 4-5 of the 11 tracks prominently feature Pianoteq. Though mostly all mangled to hell lol being able to adjust the condition of the instrument and the envelope also leads to some really cool stuff. Run that into Gauss at 2x speed and then slow it down and you’re in business lol

I think the price turned a lot of people off though it’s 100% worth it in my eyes. I definitely plan on upgrading to the next tier soon just for more editing capabilities but even the standard license gets you a lot when you consider the free sounds it also comes with. And the generous demo of the pro features is just outstanding.

One thing I love to do is record a weird loop in the app itself and have it play on repeat while torturing it with various effects lol. You have to get creative to get the most out of it but it pays back in dividends.

Nice! You said Standard here but I think you meant Stage maybe? Remember, in this annoying naming convention, Standard is the 2nd tier!

  • It’s Twin 3 and the Moogerfoogers for me.

Haven’t tried logic for iOS yet but plan to someday.

Oops yeah you’re right. I always get them confused because it seems like it should be the opposite. Standard sorta implies it’s just the “standard” bottom tier. Stage sounds way more impressive 😂 wonder what the thinking behind that was.

I remember that being discussed before. I think Stage is called Stage because it’s seen as more of a ‘player’ than a ‘tweaker’. I still really dislike the naming convention though, it’s confusing. Standard does not sound like leveling up, it just sounds to me like ‘bog standard’, ie. Nothing special.

Precisely. Doubt it’ll change at this point but really seems like something that shouldn’t have made it out of the writers room lol

Standard is probably where I’ll stop. It has basically all the features I’d use and I get an extra pack with it. I don’t know if I’d ever take full advantage of Pro but it looks great. If they ever do an incredible sale I might 😂

I got exactly $1 that’s inexplicably covered in ink that I found at the gas station today.

Excited to see what new apps are making waves this year. While we're on the topic of apps, let me share a personal experience. When I needed to make money now, I stumbled upon some cool coupon apps. They helped me save while shopping online, which freed up some extra cash for other things. So while we're exploring the latest and greatest apps, don't forget about the ones that can help pad your wallet too!
