Thanks that sounds like something Ive been looking for!

Its weird however that while i purchased the auv3 update a while back it doesnt show up as an auv3. It does as IAA in audioshare. But it does crash very often.

    Anyone else had this problem?

The AUv3 is there, but it's under the name "MA Audio Tagger." Similar for the AUv3 version of the Browser, it's named "MA Browser." That caught me too the first time I used it. If you look closely at the video, you can see the name of the module. I have not had it crash, but I've used the Audio Tagger almost exclusively in standalone mode so far, but I'll give it a few trips around the block and let you know if I'm able to repro it.

  • I’m unable to batch rename files in iCloud via Media Assistant - the option to batch rename doesn’t even show up when I long press with multiple items selected.

I notice the “batch rename” dialogue does show up, however, when I select multiple files within MA’s AAHome folder, but I keep all of my samples and loops in iCloud.

Is the batch rename feature only available to files within the Media Assistant home folder?

  • The Audio Tagger IAP is brilliant. I wasn't sure I needed it, but to have my entire 'samples' folder automatically tagged by every attribute available is amazing. Coupled with the live time stretch / pitch shift, it's absolutely perfect for auditioning samples whilst a track is playing alongside...

However, I don't seem to be able to drag a sample from Audio Tagger (via the 'drag session' or otherwise) into Logic Pro like I can from the main Media Assistant window (in split screen mode), am I missing something?

Wow I never bought the IAP because I didn’t think I needed but I wasn’t exactly sure what it was doing. That could be very useful, thanks.

@anhnd101 Is there a way to make it so when I open the Media Assistant app, that it opens in the last file location I was in when I last closed the app?

Or to have the option to choose a default file location that Media Assistant opens up to?

I think having these options would be quite helpful..

That's good idea. I will add this to my working list

Um, I remember that I test that. Could you send me a short screen record to [email protected]

Yes - this does appear to be a limitation of the application. It's explained on p. 22 of the user manual: "to batch rename you need to copy these files somewhere inside AAHome." Personally, I suspect that Apple has restrictions on allowing applications to have the ability to make mass changes on the entire file system of the internal storage and iCloud.

Thanks, I've sent you a video file. So is anyone else here able to drag samples from the Audio Tagger into Logic Pro out of interest? Or is it just me?!

One other request - is there any way to disable the auto-looping of samples in Audio Tagger? With very short samples (i.e. hi-hats) things can start to sound like 'machine guns' very quickly!

** It works for me when I use Logic Pro and Media Assistant side by side. Here it is in action dropping into Sample Alchemy.

Aha, thankyou! In which case I was doing it wrong in trying to drag the samples out of the drag session window, rather than dragging the little folder icon itself - I can confirm this now works perfectly(!)

Now ... what to say ....

I liked the App from my few tests.

After this AI voice removal, I checked the IAP:

And to make this more clear:

    Seriously, @anhnd101 ?

    what do you mean ?

  • Thanks for this! @anhnd101

  • Wow the vocal removal sounds great. Could it be used to remove solo instruments to an instrumental? Man could I get into that, making music-minus-one versions of some of my favorite jazz trumpeter recordings.

  • What AI is this, the same that koala uses?

The best one Ive heard is the one on djay pro, koala’s is not very good

Really? I get artifacts from DJ Pro and Koala. Haven’t tried this one yet. I’m sure the source material has lots to do with it.
But I haven’t done a proper test; same source material on multiple removers.

Both have artifacts, but koala has a lot more, also djay pro is real time, that’s wild

    You said:

I was referring to the apparent sum of 42,93 Euro to get all features of your App.

I mean, it is not a complete DAW or something other that would belong into this price range.
It's a helper App to handle audio.

I want to explain that this app is container of some utility apps. As describe in the description: This is audio converter, audio editor, browser, offline media player, audio tagger, batch rename, audio joiner ...
    It offer each as IPA.
If you just need the converter, then you purchase that IAP (price is quite similar to other audio converter on AppStore)
When you need audio editor, then you purchase IAP and so on.

The app dont force you to get all features. You just buy what you need.

  • @anhnd101 said:

You mean IAP, right? I mean, it'd be a bonus if the app offered an IPA (Indian Pale Ale), a Porter, a Whiskey or Rum to help us get through the myre. 😂

@tja The app was initially a subscription price (which I was against for this type of app, I admit). Would a person rather pay a monthly/annual fee for this type of app, or would a person rather pay the developer the one-time fees asked for each of the IAPs? Or option three...a person can simply elect to just not purchase the app to begin with.

It's not like anyone is forcing people to buy the app or any IAPs afterall. There are also SampleCrate, AudioShare, and even the Files app, and you may personally find Media Assistant to be redundant.

Me personally, I'm unsure if I need another media sorting app to be fair despite how amazing Media Assistant seems. The spare money I'm saving right now will go towards Gospel Musician's iFX Rack and those IAPs. I'm a fan of Pure Synth Platinum, and being able to apply those iFX in any effects chain (especially in AUM) would be absolutely valuable to me. Your mileage may vary and other such forum tropes lol.
