  • Does it require any on-line registration?
(I already get enough 'spam' from 'free' plug-ins/content that have required e-mail in the past with ZERO mention that it would be shared with un-related 3rd parties who spread them like the plague).

  • No registration required

  • This app is basically if ampify shoved blocwave with launchpad together.
Do with that with what you will.

Also I haven’t gotten it to show up any external audio interfaces.
Do with that what you will.

    Behringer class compliant UMC1820

  • Any documentation for this? Avid website suggests you get access to documentation if you sign up. But you don’t - kinda scammy way to make people sign up. Just gimme a manual ffs and don’t make me watch a video tutorial lol

And you can’t screenshot that? Cause I don’t get it on any interface.
Only the midi of it shows up.
(Mini6 so no cck/lightning involved like you)

  • There’s a link in the app which leads to the website where there is another link for this 76-page manual. That’s a lot of manual iif this is as simple as Dendy said earlier, lol

Make sure the app is fully closed. Connect your external interface. Launch app. That worked for me.

Yep. No luck here. No matter the connection of interface/app opened or closed at launch order

Midi shows up, just default iOS audio in both input and output.

  • it's really pretty slick from a brief play with it (M1 iPad Pro)
. shame there's no auv3 support, but I guess since protools is using this as a gateway into protools desktop (which is aax only), it seems unlikely they'll implement it. a basic sampler would also be super useful.

for now (and I say this as someone who has used protools desktop practically every day for about 30 years), Logic Pro for iPad is still the winner for me.

I agree simply because it’s free but if they have $5 I would recommend Note or Logic first. Even GarageBand.

Garageband is imho mess for absolute beginner .. things are hidden under second ot third tap submenus .. Note is too overcomplicated for absolute beginner, lot of features you don't get when you know nothing about music making. And Logic totall showstopper for beginner, it's user undriendly UI super complicated hell for that kind of user.

This is simple, all functions max one tap away. UI super clean straightforward. It's really ideal learning tool in my opinion, best avaialble on iOS. Would suggest it even if it costs $10 or $15.

When you are new in some are, you need maximum simplicity. Just to get basic concepts, to wrap your head around it. Then you may step to more deep waters.

are there included some sounds, loops, synths?

    Yep. It’s quite well featured.

But just as presets, absolute minimum tweakability ..

Eh everyone learns differently, there’s no one size fits all, and depending on what you want this may not necessarily be best either. Maybe for this specific workflow (midi clip launching) but if you’re wanting to get into sampling, beatmaking, or a timeline workflow, this is not optimal. I started with GarageBand when I first got into software, and it was completely fine. I honestly see it recommended as the go to starting point all the time so I’m kinda surprised to see you’re against it.

I don’t see with Note either. I don’t think overly complicated at all. If anything they’ve made it super simple to dive in and just get started right away.

Logic, I can see that not being the best for a beginner, but with all the tools on the internet now, and all the countless videos and manuals, you can really start anywhere.

    Fab.

  • What is all the Audio Outputs about? Does this mean you can send audio to different lanes in AUM?
I’ve been having a look at the manual - there is a lot on offer here.
    It needs iOS 16 btw

  • Love the French horns

  • Can’t really complain about a free app, though at first glance MIDI editing doesn’t look convenient.

  • No Auv3. Uuuuuurgh.

  • this is really really bad:)
    the interface is a nightmare...
even for free - it's just bad...

What do you find bad about it, for example?

Yeah it’s so easy to get going
    1. Arm track
    2. Double tap an empty clip to activate the clip
    3. Tap the clip again to open the clip options
    4. Tap properties
    5. Minimize the iOS keyboard that pops up obscuring the following
    6. Set the clip length
    7. Tap ok
    8. Now we’re ready to record a clip

    Amazingly terrible

  • Seems it makes you sign in to save?!!

  • This seems to be like a mixture of Launchpad and Remix Live - only bigger and better and with much needed newer features. One being - you can drop a clip in then you can set the loop points to the size of clip you want and when you move it around - it stays the same size!! 😍👍
