I sent him an email awhile back with an issue I was having because of the discord looking neglected. I didn’t get a reply via email either, so I’ve given up myself.
I'd be surprised if you posted the question on Discord and he didn't answer. At least I hope he would.
I went to email because at the time, I’d seen questions by others on there left unanswered as the last messages, months old.
Just took a look now, that’s still the case
And in fact the reason people haven’t been asking questions is because it became clear that Elvis had left the building.
Hope the tour’s going well. Gigging’s a hard life, I’m told.
Does anyone of you have information about this app beeing still actively developped? I'm looking to invest some time in a new app and I'm torn between EG Nodes and Loopy Pro. I feel that EG Nodes is a better fit, but Loopy Pro with its MIDI looping coming out soon might be good as well. I'm looking for some kind of clip launcher that has a timeline with possibly some sequencers.
There's no activity in the Discord, and I have to assume that this is a much lower priority than whatever's going on in the developer's life. It's a thing, with ios apps... so many of the great ones are from these small, brilliant developers, without the support of big teams. It's amazing, and I'm in awe of them, while also always nervous about support and sustainability.
That said, Nodes is pretty damn good as-is. I'm also very much looking forward to LP2, but there's no way to know yet, whether it might supplant Nodes entirely (for me). This is why I have way too many apps... you just never know what's going to work, and "stick", unless you give it a go.
Thanks for the reply. It is indeed incredible what these developpers achieve and I respect that sometimes priorities change. For myself, as a stay at home dad, I threw out all my big projects for the first 3-4 years.
As for EG Nodes, is it possible to do sidechain compression to make space for the kick drums?
Nodes is very good as-is. Loopy Pro will have only a piano-roll style sequencer, it won't have the variety of sequencers that Nodes has. I could be wrong, but I don't think Nodes can do side-chain.
I generally say people should buy apps only if they're happy with what they can do today. There are never any guarantees of future development in iOS land.
Happy new year folks!
Don't worry EG Nodes is still in my heart and I have some ongoing developments. I'm currently enjoying my little son, who's turning 1 year this month and my activity as musician. For every request or feedback remember to write here or at [email protected]
Good to hear. Enjoy the time with your son, that's the most important!
EG nodes is a great app, and it has great potential. Let it grow
Hello and yay!
Happy new year @ElliottGarage ! I'm glad to hear that the app is still in your heart. I will definitely give the app a go then!
Thanks for taking the time to reply and have fun with your son
To anywho who uses EG Nodes for more electro style music, how do you achieve the ducking effect?
Have you checked out Sand: https://getsand.app/
I'll have a look! Thanks for the suggestion! Do you have first hand experience with it?
I've had Sand since it came out, and never got as much use out of it as I expected. Nodes really did fill that gap, of a multi-featured clip launching and arranging system, that was left by the frustrations of LK.
Nodes is an amazing app - maybe the best tool to go with AUM (besides like LK or drambo); but Nodes + AUM = great
How are you using it inside AUM? I haven't worked out the best uses of it (or tried it) in AUM yet.
I am curious as well, was thinking of buying it, and always have it in the back of my mind, but would love to see some examples of people integrating it
Drop Nodes onto a Midi strip and it becomes the single source for sequences, drum tracks, event triggers, and a song arranger. So, for example, where I might use multiple instances of MidiDreams to drive different synths, each with its own pattern set that needs to be switched with external controls, all of this can be done in a single instance of Nodes.
Nice, I'll need to try that. I'm pretty new with iPad music, so I still need to figure out efficient workflows. Thanks!
Hi
Is there a Node or Midi Fx in order to Transpose the Pattern or Selected Track based on the Input Notes or Scale Chord?
