The AnalogXAI stuff was sweet, I got the Studer A821, Neve Master Bus Transformer and Warm audio CL1B.

Also, https://pasttofuturereverbs.gumroad.com/ has other interesting hardware emulations, the ones labeled "for Nam/ Proteus" can be used with BYOD in the same way as the AXAI profiles.
Like this one, cool stuff: https://pasttofuturereverbs.gumroad.com/l/frmpy?layout=profile

  • While we’re here has anyone tried the IAPs in BYOD? Specifically the Filters? I’m very interested but wondering which filters it comes with and if it’s worth it considering I already have Volcano and JAF.

  • Does anyone have any guitarml amps with distortion or distortion pedals to recommend?

  • For those that don't know there is a tone library collection at:

    https://guitarml.com/tonelibrary/tonelib-pro.html

Download the proteus library. Some of the files are snapshot captures (the knob just changes the gain) and some have one knob captured (always the gain I think?) that captures the non-linearity of the hardware's knob.

Put these in a chain that includes a cap IR, etc and they are great. The distortion sounds are excellent.

I was surprised that they were 11.99 each for a free app. Either they’re really good, or…I mean, it doesn’t seem like ChowDSP is a capitalist enterprise. More information would be helpful. Or a week trial. Or audio demo samples.

But I was very curious about those packs as well.

You might think of it as a reasonable way to fund continued development of an app as good as many expensive paid apps that we got for free.

  • There are some short demos on his YouTube feed:

  • @espiegel123 Thanks for linking the demo. And I totally understand and want to support Chow monetarily. I just was surprised at the huge difference between a free app and potentially $48. But this dev seems super level headed, so that must be the price points he arrived at fairly. I didn’t intend to disparage him/them. He is one of my favorite devs.

  • Anyone know of anyone else making these profiles besides Analogxai and Pasttofuturereverbs? I’m really digging the sound I’m getting out of stuff from them and now I’m obsessed with finding more. The Manley stuff sounds really nice from Analogxai

Took mine by surprise as well but I’m happy to support the dev if/when I can. Not sure I need those IAPs though so might just use the tip jar in one of his apps. BYOD is amazing though. I just have too many other filter apps. The JAF collection and Volcano are all I need yet I have even more than that 😆

  • I would pay for an IAP NAM profile loader in BYOD in a heartbeat.

Still seems no one on the forum has actually tried these?

It doesn’t seem like it which is weird considering how much the forum tends to love the Chow apps. JAF and Volcano + MiRack are probably enough but I am curious if it adds anything new. Also being able to insert them into the signal chain in-app could be cool. At $11.99 it’s priced just outside of “buy and see what happens” territory lol

Hi. I bought the Boutique package, more as a way of paying for the base free app, which is amazing. Boutique adds some "Trumble", Tweed, and Bass modules, but I'm hardly the one to evaluate them.

Bass modules you say? How are they? I have mammoth but I’ve been wanting another option for bass cabinets.

  • As a note.. if you Demo the Two notes Genome Guitar Amp plugin, it has some Guitar ML compatible Amp profiles that work with BYOD, whether or not you buy Genome. I did, but also copied the amp profiles to my iPad for BYOD usage

  • I asked the devs if Genome could be brought to ios, they said its not initially planned but they noted the request and thanked for details regarding usage such as this

  • i've been intrigued lately by the sound of guitar pedals based on the Neve 1073 mic pre, the Lauren Audio Mustang and JHS Crayon. so i got the AnalogXAi AMS Vintage Neve 1073 profile (on sale!) imho, it's quite good. the saturation is nice and gritty, and it has a rich fuzz tone when pushed hard. it is dark sounding & works as an amp replacement without a cab IR. i like it as a virtual pedal in front of a bright, clean amp sim. i'm just a hacker tho. any real electric guitar folks with thoughts on this one? & thanks to the OP for the AnalogXAi link!

Do make sure you set BYOD´s (assuming you’re using that) oversampling to 1x, and turn off the sample rate correction filter in the settings on the GuitarML module, for optimal sound 👍

Is this mean me not need JHS Colorbox?? But… SHINY BOX.

Does it beat the 1073 we have on iOS from Red Rock Sound? I mean..that one is $5 and an emulation of the entire unit

thanks. knew about 1x os, but the filter was on. what does that do?

that Colorbox so pretty. :^) but for this hacker the sound and response of the AnalogXAi 1073 is close enough.

afaict the RRS EQ173 does not really model the Neve 1073 input transformer and mic preamp. the app store description says "The distortion is mild and adds some coloration." even with the EQ173 gain at max and a hot input signal there's no gritty buzz at all. it's nothing like the AnalogXAi profile or the 1073-ish guitar pedal vids.

It just muddies the sound and wastes resources.
Try turning on linear phase in the same menu as well and see if you can hear that in the Neve

  • There’s also a 1073 emulation in MixBox, isn’t there?

  • Guys, I'm truly loving this amazing app!!! I habe now included it to my Live pedalboard Setup with ToneX pluging. The drives are incredible!!! Truly amazing! I still don't quite understand how you guys add the other external stuff, but so far what it already includes is nothing short of amazing!!!
If you need really good effects for guitar or whatever this is a no brainer.

  • Anyone know of anyone else making hardware profiles for this besides analogxai and past to future? I just need to buy everything in existence
