Gonna get one of the AudioThings FX apps I don’t have when I get paid this coming week…between outer space and springs, which would you all get first?

It depends what your musical goals are, what you already have, where the gaps are in your existing toolkit.

I think what Fear is asking is which spring reverb AU is more generally useful/interesting and less limited/specific.

It reads to me like Fear is trying to choose between two different Audiothing effects, one of which is a spring reverb and the other (Outer Space) which is a tape delay echo, rather than choosing between two spring reverbs, unless we’re referring to different posts?

Really great app, useful on all sorts of parts - not just vocals, well worth full price so essential to check out on sale.

    Music App IAPs on Sale!

HoRNet apps at all time low!

Thought I'd grab Harmoniq while on sale as was interested when it came out. After a bit of playing around, it seems utterly random to me. It makes a different decision about what to cut every time you analyse the exact same passage :/ Sometimes it even decides to completely cut a main on-key note. Will have more of a play with it but not exactly impressed by it. ScalerEQ does a much better job by just randomly killing groups of inharmonic frequencies.

Par for the course for Hornet apps, ime, unfortunately.

Yep, further testing has resulted in me requesting a refund. I don't need a random EQ on sale or not 😎

  • So microwave 1…? top stuff? Especially since they added the wavetable import, I’m on the verge of grabbing it? Wish it was universal… eh.

Ballpark, What’s the cpu/dsp on M1? relatively speaking based on your device and setup?

I totally want this but not until I start getting more vocals down.

Just got it last night. Only played with it for 5 minutes. Sounds great. Nice interface. Glad I got it.

Word on the street is that Springs Is the best Spring Reverb hands down. You might be able to replicate Outer Space with other apps more easily e.g. Imaginando K7D

K7D is nice but isn't really similar as it isn't a multi-tap delay. RE1 is inspired by the space echo and I think there is also the Nembrini NA-501 (which has chorus section along with space echo and spring reverb)

Fair enough … I was thinking of its similarity along the lines of its tape echo elements.

Or how about Surreal Machines Modnetic, which combines multi-head tape echo, and (a very nice sounding) spring reverb, with chorus/flange type modulation, some kind of cabinet sim, flexible routing, in a great value package? I tried out the public beta and was pretty impressed with it.

There is an iOS version of: Master Plan - Musik Hack but I'm not sure it's included in the BF sale, it actually looks a bit like they even forgot they have an AUV3 to offer as I can't see it mentioned on their site. Poppa?

    https://www.musikhack.com/

ScalerEQ is a beast. Might not be considered on the level of FabFilter or Toneboosters, but I love it and it’s genuinely helped make my tracks better.

Mentioned it earlier but I’ll say it again cause they’re in sale and even if not still cheaper than this - Bleass Voices and Vox and offer some really great effects for vocals, beginners or not.

I’m relatively new with using vocals and it’s been supremely helpful. Voices is the more featured of the two and more focused as a harmonizer, but helps a ton to bring out some interesting ideas vocally - Vox is nice for a quick and dirty set up and get going vocal effect to add on your chain.

    Wise advice!

  • Anyone here who has some experience with The Voltour Valve Enhancer by Nembrini? Even at the current 50% discounted price it's not particularly cheap for my budget, and I find that youtube demos can be misleading for this kind of thing.

I got it, it adds warmth, extreme grit and everything in between. You can also make the left and right channel sound differently. It’s a good fx to have to add spice in subtle or extreme ways.

Curious what others think, but I prefer the Nembrini space echo to the AudioThing tape echo.

Yeah baffles the mind. Idk what’s going on but that secret GSi sauce works

[let me add to my list, now that I noticed WOODSYNTH @woodman is on sale right ?]

Definitely listen to some demos. I find the sound very synthetic, not really a fan.
That sound is exactly the sound it is supposed to have, of course, as it is inspired by 1970s string machines. But if you’re looking for realistic orchestra sounds, it is not the droid you’re looking for.

  • Minimoog Model D and Model 15 Modular by Moog are 40% off right now. Sadly, no Moogerfooger Bundle discount.
