I’ve just picked up cubasis 3 in the sale so I’ll play with that instead 😁

Sorry, you’ve lost me there. I hate Cubasis with a passion :)

    Really? Is it that bad?

    Lots of people love it.

Interesting to see iOS YouTubers like Jamie and Doug seem to use it for lots of their projects.

They have access to any DAW they want yet they use choose to use Cubasis, so it must have something good about it.

Like any software, some people like it and some might not.

    WOW!

This is a sale price correct?

Seems to be - $1 less than the introductory price i think?

Hardly encourages early adoption when you beat your own Intro Price after only two weeks 😂

VirSyn / Harry Gohs apps on sale...

AppRaven records show NEW LOW for Teraverse, Tera Pro†, Cube Synth Pro, Addstation, VoxSyn Pro, BandDelay, Matrix Vocoder, Bark Filter, Harmony Eight, BandShift, Reslice, AudioEffX, Addictive Pro, Poseidon Synth, Tap Delay, iVoxel.
† That goes for Tera Pro's IAPs as well, except for Library Waveshaper.

The only ones NOT at historical low are Xinematix and Harmony Voice (incidentally the only one I needed, haha).

The rest of the catalog sits at current historical low.

(Apologies for any mistakes -- I just eyeballed it)

Looked at Harmony Voice for the AUv3 autotune element but was put off by the reviews and ratings (only has rating of 1.4 in UK store). Would be interested if it actually does work or not if you get it 👍

I’ve only just begun to play with it but It seems pretty good to me. I suppose we’re all individuals and it’s very rare to find something that suits everyone 😊

UPDATE 2: Won’t even open on my M2 Mac. I maybe do regret.

UPDATE: Bought VoxSyn Pro ($2). Installed on iPhone SE 2020, iOS 18.1. Loaded AU into Audiobus 3 FX slot. Audio works for a while, breaks the instance if messing with too many knobs. UI wonky as hell, responsive but many broken parametrics. Standalone doesn't work (need audio interface?). Comes with entitlement for M1 Mac, so maybe I don't regret.
Not sure if I’m brave enough to buy Harmony Eight 😅… It is a couple years older and iOS-only.

Yeah unfortunately VirSyn doesn't maintain most of their apps, and recent reviews are sparse at best. Would also love to know if someone here has had any recent success, especially with the voice/vocoder ones. I just assume the iPad mini 2 I keep around will be all I can trust to run old apps on.

BLEASS Voices isn’t as cheap (on sale for $12.99 USD) but does have an autotune that works great. Live low latency mode as well. It’s a really incredible app.

I believe BLEASS Vox does too but overall it’s less featured than their Voices app. Seems intentionally so as it’s cheaper ($9.99 USD on same currently) than Voices and voices is a deep/capable live (low latency) harmonization plugin and Vox seems to be some stripped down effects from it. Hard to find any info about it.

I didn’t check what else Harmony Voice does but I’m sure Voices does most of if not all of the same. Very deep app. Vox is more lightweight.

Lesson learned, take it on the chin, get a refund, and trust yourself! You knew better as your messages said 😜

I've heard it crashes a lot. But for a tenner I'm willing to give it a shot. Basically it's MPC for iPad. I own iMPC Pro 2, and it also crashes a lot. So the bar is pretty low anyway :)

I would get sand over bm3 at this point

Sand is amazing. I wish more people would give it a shot (free trial, y'all), hopefully the dev makes enough money and it wont turn into abandonware.

I honestly didn’t think I’d buy SAND. But, after an afternoon with the trial, decided the interface and features were just right for me and bought it. :)

I’ll admit I got cocky 😅. Thx for the recommendation. I concur, from my testing of both of those BLEASS plugs on desktop, that’s probably the next obvious choice. Plus their formant shift algorithm is surprisingly transparent, worth the asking price, no doubt. (I think you’re right: Voices is just Vox w/ more fx, etc).

Now to go buy a lotto ticket from the Apple refunds department…

I have most of the vocoders, disappointed in all of them, lol- I tend to use Vancouver and other samplers for vocodery.

In regards to bundles- would love to see an Igor Vasiliev’s bundle.

I’m really considering midistep atm, or Sunrizer at 5.99

Oh, and the bundle stuff, mines not accounting for Cem’s sales prices apparently. I only lack 3 of his apps but the price to complete is: 17.03, but I only lack 3 apps.

Do any of the Cem apps work as midi filters for notes rather than generators pls?

Yea several, and some do both. Rhythm bud adds rhythm to the midi notes/chords, arpbud 2, loopbud, Kebarp I think

  • What’s up with Xinematix? Thought it was free plus IAP a few days ago. Now it’s showing 19.99 (Cdn) with the complete unlock 24.99 IAP.

I just read the App Store description and it says “thanks to your ongoing support the AUv3 plugin is now included in the app” so i don’t think it’s an unlock, it’s now part of the app.

I guess the word currently is a bit misleading. The AU IAP is now included free.

AudioLayer and AddStation remain my favorite two Virsyn apps.

  • Imaginando - DRC is IMHO one of the best sounding, most underrated analog synths on ANY platform. Not sure if it is on sale/yet as I already own it, but HIGHLY recommend this one. It is bursting with character, has an enormous sound as well as high quality filters.

I picked it up today and am not disappointed -- there are several sound banks included with what looks like a nice range of leads and pads (only looked for a couple mins)

Absolute concur, and their presets are top notch too- I rarely get presets but the sounds out of DRC can get pretty incredible.

The preset expansion is great for industrial, trap, drill. The space one has a lot of nice shiny, blippity, arp sequences that sound beautiful from 30bpm to 240bpm. Big fan of the DRC character
