Yes, the IAPs are for tipping only, all the FAC Punchlab features are included in the purchase. Thank you @eross !
The [FAC Punchlab IAP] button on the web site will open the app and show the tip jar dialog, you can tap the button on the other apps to check yourself.
Thank you all for the pre-order and nice feedbacks!!!
Here another video I've just uploaded, not on drums but on a synth.
Awaiting my purchase
Looks a lot like Shaperbox 3, one of my fav mfx on desktop. Looking forward to checking it out.
Fred, will you be bringing this one to macOS as an Audio Unit? If not now, later perhaps?
Also, I don't know why I seem to be the only one requesting it, but are there any plans on bringing Phazer to desktop? Yours is one of the smoothest sounding phasers on iPadOS, would love to have it available for Logic Pro and GarageBand on desktop.
Thanks.
Bandit is an excellent app
Definitely grabbing this
Yea, I saw the rearranging feature, and noticed there was more fx available than the other two apps I mentioned. It’s good to know it’s in that same vein though, and it works well on other things, cheers mate.
Yes I will definitely add FAC Punchlab Desktop to the collection, it will be compatible down to macOS 12.0 and will run on Intel devices as well, not only M1. So yes later indeed, I don't have a schedule yet.
You are not the only one asking for a macOS version of Phazer I'll also release a Desktop version but again no schedule yet.
Thank you for your great feedback about Phazer, and your great support in general!
Fantastic to hear! Thanks. 👍
I’d already pre-ordered but that’s great news about Intel. I’m using my Intel AUv3’s a lot on desktop at the moment and this app looks like it nicely plugs a hole there.
i am simple man, i see new FAC plugin, i hit preorder.
One of best sounding best looking plugins in iOS. Fred is magician. And with this one, judging on demo, he again shifted borders. Can’t wait.
Yes he truly put some kind of coding voodoo into his Chorus, Phaser, and Alteza apps. How does something so affordable sound so good? Baffling.
Does anyone have a demo video showing off any potential experimental uses of this app?
The published demos so far sound subtle and more targeted to the users who like tweaking knobs and frequencies… as in fine tune mastering stuff.
Anyone got anything that shows off some weird fun stuff?
Yes, I know he’s a good dev, and he’s got some nice apps, etc. and that the crowd who like to fiddle and such dig them, but I’ve got 5 of them based on the hype from the usual suspects and I almost never use them.
With the exception of Alteza I wouldn’t notice if all them disappeared from my devices.
I want to pick this up, and I love the interface design, but the published videos sound very subtle to me.
Or, maybe this one isn’t really targeted at those (like myself) who like to screw around with sound and basically experiment until you possibly get lucky.
If any of the beta testers have some experimental weirdness they created with this app I’d love to hear it!
Indeed it is. I often use it to split frequencies in a sample for separate processing. It may be considered crude by modern mixing-and-mastering standards (where waveform-level editing is the norm) but as a modular artistic tool within AUM it's great.
It's out!
Sweet, I'm on Windows 10, thanks.
Definitely. It can be used to mangle and destroy or enhance and improve. Very useful and versatile app. I love and use Maxima and Medusa quite a bit too.
And lo, it is good. The transient shaping is so much better than the bullshit attack and release values I was plugging into my compressor yesterday. I might have been able to eventually get that tweaking right with a multiband plugin, but this thing kinda knows what I mean when I think “attack”. It just does it. There’s a hard limit to the detail of tweakbility you can achieve, but I think this is a good thing.
From my brief minutes with it, don’t think it replaces the lofi mayhem you can do with Beef. A different sort of tool.
Bandit is probably my most used effect - sounds great on many types of tracks.
This is where it differs from the compressors and transient shapers I was using before: it found the musical transients that others were overlooking, and was able to work with them.
This mightn’t be a typical application, I have a combined drums and bass track I recorded from running the long-mourned PolyChord through Outer Space. (This is something I usually do in the real world, feeding a real Omnichord’s bossa nova rhythms through a delay pedal.) The kick turned out to be so faint and mushy that it really sounded like the attack of the bass, and PolyChord doesn’t preserve IAA state, blah blah, so rather than rediscover all its settings and re-record it, I was able to reshape the track to my liking. Nothing came close to Punchlab in working with that tiny kick transient.
In a similar way, I could imagine going to town with Punchlab on one of those impossible-to-reproduce Moog DFAM jams that are as evanescent as they are sublime. Those jams are equally and mysteriously musical in the way that isn’t typical of a lot of the stuff that happens when I program drums in a more deliberate way on a “real” drum machine/plugin, and I’m hoping Punchlab will be equally as responsive.
It is out in my store now. Just been playing with passing some beats through the presets in Dawnbeat and really enjoying it so far 👍
Just squeezed my preorder in now...
I don’t see it yet, so tomorrow I guess… 🙁
Ah, out already ... First test in AUM ..
I really want this but don’t need it. I’ll wait for some used Audio Units to appear ;-)
Hopefully nobody makes any awesome demos with it, otherwise I’m done.
I do love me some Medusa and or Bandit tho.
It’s out (U.S.)

Yay! Can't wait to play with it tomorrow. (Awaiting Michael_M to notice this one. 🤣 )
It’s out here in the uk, I’ve just taken it for a spin. On first impressions it seems more versatile than Knock, with a wider range of options and sounds. I’ll see if I can post a demo later.
Her is my video for FAC Punchlab, sounds great, looks great, easy to use.
Very very good👍😊
