  • Here's a quick demo, with a comparison vs Knock. IMO Punchlab is better-sounding and much more versatile. You can also combine both plugins to get the best out of each :)

  • I‘m so happy with FAC Punchlab! Fred you really created a great flux compensated piece of software! Thanks

  • First dive into. I love it! Really lifts the beat in a track, very nice. I was a bit afraid I would be another beat cruncher thing, but it certainly is capable of doing some sophisticated small alterations if needed. More testing needed. Wish I could upload a youtube demo, but that should wait for some days.

  • First impression is that i prefer it to Knock, very pleased so far and keen to give it a full test in my next project

  • Damn I was expecting the preorder to go through later on in the day today. I’m about to head into work now but I’m excited to try it later 🤩

  • Well it's official for me, Punchlab has put Knock on the shelf.
Knock has added some amazing boom and presence to my drums for a while, no question it's the real deal, but Punchlab does more, better, and damn that ui is pleasing on every device.

  • It’s great!!! Knock is good…but yea this is exactly what I wanted. When you toggle it on and off it’s amazing what the difference it is.

  • I don’t own Knock as I couldn’t justify the cost of it, but I understand Punchlab is in the same ballpark and much more? It’s definitely different than Beef.

I’m surprised to say I agree. Knock is excellent but Punchlab is really REALLY spicing up the drums. @FredAntonCorvest really outdid himself here. I can see this being one of the better apps on the year already tbh.

  • Anyone try it out on a guitar track?

  • @FredAntonCorvest I have a minor, low priority request that would make exploring different options easier: being able to drag to select through the options that currently can only be accessed through a pop-up list (e.g. fizz model, saturation type). Drumkit (oscillator type) would benefit from this as well.

  • While I do like Knock, I find the better versatility of this app to make it more appealing.
Here I tested it with a few stems of a Lo-Fi Hip Hop project and with a Techno preset on BAM.

I don’t even care about the apps. This is a bloody great track!

Yes, it definitely has everything that Knock has, so I wouldn’t even consider Knock now.

    Great, love this one.

Well... Punchlab doesn't have the UI that resizes erratically, or the 3x price tag. So if those things are important to you then definitely consider Knock.

How does something so affordable sound so good? Baffling.

On the desktop, just look to Valhalla DSP for the ultimate in price-to-performance!

  • Other than swiping out of an AUM track, is there a master by bypass I’m missing?

Don’t have a desktop anymore but yes the Valhalla stuff is excellent and top tier for any price range. Glad we at least have slivers of it on iOS haha (EOS2 and the AudioKit Verb).

It’s not a toggle, but Mix at 0% (“off”)? 😂

I use the little power icon at the top of the AU window for quick bypass in AUM

Bypass?! I don't think I can ever bypass this again. My drums end up sounding like a child hitting two broken branches together without it.

  • been dreaming of a Bandit/Punchlab hybrid: being able to load a series/multiple modules (those available in Bandit and Punchlab) per band in a Multiband setting as in Bandit

Yeah, that would be nice. You could maybe use Multiband from mani for the purpose of splitting bands to add whatever further effects needed.

FAC Bandit has a multi out version. Each out can go to a different Punch Lab instance.

... and further to other FAC Bandit multi-out's until your device or your head explodes.

Right Wim. I did not yet consider to add another bandit to a bandit multi out to further the bandit gang!
    Thanks!

  • What an app. Thank you @FredAntonCorvest .

Agreed! I find myself wanting to put it on every track.
