And this is why I cannot use Synthmaster apps (Stuck keys problem SOLVED!)
This is so typical. The 3 keys you see in the attached screenshot are pressed down because they are stuck notes. I’m not pressing them down. I tried to play the keyboard and they just stayed pressed. I complained about this exact problem to the developer years ago and it still hasn’t been fixed. I honestly believe they don’t know how to fix this.
Comments
I have the same problem on sm1 and also factory when I use my keyboard! Reported, talked to devs, yet nothing fixed.
Maybe they cannot reproduce the problem. I use SM1 or SM2 in most songs I create and I never had that problem.
It may be that they don't know how to reproduce the issue. Do you have a reliable recipe for making it happen?
Never happens to me either, never in years.
Is this a situation where an "all notes off" MIDI command might do something? (CC123?)
Is it with the onscreen keyboard or using a midi keyboard? I've never had this with Synthmaster 2 yet, but I did with Synthmaster 1
Omg what do you hate our app developers??? You need to apologize right now!
This is DROooooone feature. You better love it!
is this related to the latest updates of sm1 and sm2? was hesitating to load these because of issues in the past, updates breaking things.
Yes, I do. I open the standalone or the AUv3 press on the keyboard and it sticks. Every. Single. Time. As it has been doing for years.
Haha. I regret buying all of these Sythmaster synths.
Are you meaning playing on the ipad keyboard surface?
If so, I can play for hours without any problem with Synthmaster 2.x. I’m on iPad Pro M1…
Regarding your sticky keys on Synthmaster 2 - what’s your settings for the onscreen keyboard concerning scales/chords?
Perhaps you/we can find the “bug’ there?
folks, please contact us directly when you are having issues. Yes, I know it's sometimes frustrated, it takes a while to reproduce and fix the issues. With your assistance, by sending midi logs etc we can debug more effectively. Thanks!
But this is nothing I’ve have seen on Synthmaster 2.x for years, on several iPads…
It can’t be related to CPU model.
Never seen the stuck key issue on 2 years of playing live with SM2. iPad 6th Gen, and now iPad Air 5th Gen (M1)
Preset issues hell yeah, but no stuck keys.
Frustrating when something doesn't work tho when it should, I hear ya. 👎🏽
You seem to do a lot of beta testing, just curious when the last time you did a full reset was?
I can't reproduce any of the stuck note issues (Stand-Alone or AUv3) on my 11" M1 iPadPro running iPadOS17.3...
...some iOS versions in the past had some multi-touch related issues that could cause hanging notes in some apps.
I don’t have the issue either.
@NeuM : perhaps you can make some screen recordings showing the setup, mentioning the host and posting them for the developer. There may be some important aspect important to reproducing the issue that will be evident.
Since the posted standalone screenshot contains more keys than on my 10.5 i suspect that @NeuM is using a larger iPad model - is there anyone with the same sized model ? Could you also post your ISO version to further narrow it down ?
Like the other posters i don‘t have this issue, not in standalone or AUv3 (where it‘s hard to get the correct w/h window ratio for the internal keys to show up)
Check if Zoom is turned on in settings-> Accessibility->Zoom. I've had this on accidentally in the past and it causes issues when you play chords.
Perhaps don't use the SM2 keyboard. Just throwing it out there.
Or they could remove the keyboard entirely. That would fix it.
Oh, wow. A new record.
…
You seem resistant to making a screen recording that might provide them clues as to what is going on for you.
It would be great if you did that as it might help explain what you s different about your use from those that don’t experience this issue.
I open it, I play it, the keys stick... a screen recording would show nothing more or less. This is the ONLY developer’s apps that do this on my iPad Pro. And I will remind you, this has been an issue for years. I contacted them previously and got no action. And i’ve brought this issue up on the boards here previously.
And I’m not the only one experiencing similar or identical issues. One might contact a developer, but nothing will motivate them to solve the problem if the problem can simply be ignored. That’s why this place is better for everyone. Problems are out in the open for everyone to see and chip in with their opinions and solutions.
If you have more helpful suggestions, feel free to post them.
Looks a banger. Hope you cued up an arpeggio!
You don't know that a demonstration won't provide them more information than your screenshots. At least give them a chance. You can see from this thread that while some people experience the same issue as you do, many don't.
So, the developer doesn't know how to reproduce that. You could help them by providing more information -- I have sometimes done tech support of music software as part of my job -- I can't tell you how many times, a demonstration of an issue provide clues that a text description or screenshot did not.
I'd be happy to help with ideas or things to try, but I imagine you already know all the typical things people would need to know about your setup if they wanted to try helping.
So this thread feels more like venting that genuinely wanting a solution. I have no problem with a good vent, but maybe let the people know who are trying to help that they can relax and we can all switch to swapping stories about software that sux on our hardware. 🤷🏽♂️
This forum doesn’t accept video file uploads. 🤷♂️
For me (without problem) it seems that NeuM is just a grumpy person unwilling to cooperate with KV331 or us…
Earlier today NeuM also stated that he regret buying all apps from KV331, so, it seems to be a personal hickup against KV331…
Would be nice if he/she could give us a link from another forum there’s users of SM2 with similar stucking keys…
