After all the waiting, waiting hype I was quite prepared to be disappointed when Nerd finally came out.
Instead it's one of the nicest sounding synths I've heard. A ton of patches to work through, then I'll start creating my own. I'm already imagining the sounds I'm going to create, once I learn how to program it.
Brilliant stuff @AnalogMatthew - thanks for your fine work and for releasing it at such a generous price. Please work on some IAPs (I dunno - maybe MPE support
) so I can pay some more for this
+1 to this, I've enjoyed this synth a lot so far, great work! I really wish it had the Nord morph feature so I could use it live in a similar way, but for the cost it's hard to complain!
One request for Nerd Synth, @AnalogMatthew : Could the "Favorite" star remain on the patch name? It would be nice to see what has already been reviewed and favorited in the "All", "Alphabetical" and individual artist patch views.
And one "bug" to report: On the iPhone tapping on the patch browser in the middle of the name does nothing. I think perhaps the touch target is too small. Only tapping on the left and right arrows allows advancing to another patch.
The sounds are fantastic. DMT Cymatics' "Arp & Pad" patches are great.

Purchased today. This is amazing! Seriously impressed. Don’t think there’s anything in the iOS market quite like it. Some of the presets are outrageous.
@AnalogMatthew Are you able to use the native keyboard in auv3? Tried to find an option in GarageBand, with no luck. I can only use GB keyboard. I don’t have the same problem in standalone mode - the layout is different and there’s a full strip of settings/options missing when firing up as an auv3.

@AnalogMatthew The only thing stopping me from buying is my constant lack of storage space and therefore the size of the app…since it’s not sample based 252.4mb seems huge? Are many of those megabytes accounted for by presets and, if so, can they be deleted by the user after installation?

A few questions
is the Mod Env supposed to only work for the LP filer type? HP and BP both seem to disable the EnvAmt…
Is the a way to use velocity as a mod source?

Another issue/bug…
When loaded into Drambo when using the second AU window view mode (not small, and not detached) for some reason you can’t scroll Nerd like other AU’s (ie factory when it’s in its “expanded mode”).
Are we able to send LFO to modulate the wave shape? I thought i saw in a video it was possible but couldn’t find it in the list

knob “heat” does nothing .. or it’s influence to enabled overdrive is too small that it is bellow treshold of my ears 🤣
Use the sound, enable Drive' and twist the 'heat' knob. And you will hear the difference very well.
