Look, even Lego made a Nord!
I was probably not clear enough … when drive is enabled, heat knob does nothing .. it doesn’t change the way how much sound is distorted, or the change is too subtle to be significantly noticeable
Would be nice if filter was actually modelled based on nord lead filters, this one is (based on what i hear) just generic audiokit filter, like in other AK synths ..
Also curious why envelope amount knob is disabled for HP filter ? Makes not sense for me …
Oh and FM modulation would strongly benefit from at least 4x oversampling (ringmod probably too), on higher amounts there is a lot of nasty unpleasant aliasing noise.
Also when it comes to FM mod part, abilitity to disable frequency sweep on fm modulation would make it much more useable than now
Did you also try it with the init sound?
don't expect a nordlead especially when it comes to fm.
they mind this in the app describtion.
yes
question is why not ? It’s not impossible, butter synth has 1:1 nord FM modulation implemented, here it would make even more sense.. i see it as missed opportunity..
Dang i want this
Agree on that, and also agree about Buttersynth. One of the best IOS/iPadOS synth ever made(till now....)
yep, thats right. so there is already our clone we got.
why a second one?
@AnalogMatthew : The heat knob doesn't seem to be working. When Drive gets turned on, there is a slight change in distortion but turning the heat knob doesn't change the distortion amount.
I used a single sine as the oscillator to make sure changes in distortion would be readily audible.
Yup, i mentioned this bug above …
@AnalogMatthew : one other thing that I am noticing is that if the sequencer is on (and no host transport running), there is often a noticeable delay between key press and note sounding as if there is some input quantization going on. I can understand why this might be the case while the host transport is running to keep things synching with the host clock. But when it isn't running, it feels a little glitchy.
Lego have several models to choose from!
Those are amazing. Picked up one of these a months ago when they went on sale:
I assume this has been mentioned above, but it isn't saving Presets between Logic sessions consistently. And I didn't make a note of what they were last night - will my song ever sound as good again?! Probably better.
Yeah there’s a delay in the sequence starting when you press a key. I thought i was tripping lol
This is so much better than I expected. Recently I have been deleting apps on my iPad that I don’t use, and got rid of many synths. This one is a keeper though.
Would love to see this on MAC OS can anyone get it to show in their purchase timeline on Mac M2 ?
Does this sound like a "clean" Nord sound or does it get gritty too? I used to have a Nordrack 1 and with the FM dialed up, it could sound pretty good. I hope it has some punch!
These Lego kits probably cost just as much as the actual synths.
Nica AI generated pictures.> @Edward_Alexander said:
These last 4 are AI generated. They don't cost anything 😉
so i’ve never had a nord synth? what makes them so beloved?
Pay $5 and find out?
They’re inspired by the best Audiokit synth of all time.
😀👍
It's more things - filter, specific character of oscillators, how envelopes and lfos behave during modulation - it's hart to name one thing in particular, it's mix of all of them. But in general it's the very specific overall sound, which was not replicated till now by any other synth (except of their direct emulations which are available on desktop - Discovery plugin which is direct clone and Synth1 which has different design UI but it is basically clone too. But they are available only on desktop)
As i mentioned, FM modulation part (which is legendary on it's own, it has very speciffic character) was successfully cloned in Butter Synth.
Other that that, nothing comes not even remotely close to Nord Lead 1,2,3 sound.
Nope, this synth can't do FM modulated sound like on Lead 1,2,3 .. But this specific asped of lead is 1:1 cloned in Butter Synth, just try "FMX" modulation .. it sounds exactly like the on on Nord Leads
Right, I guess what I meant was “these would cost as much” 😝
Where in Buttersynth is this “FMX” modulation? I’m not seeing it in the list of modulation sources.
