Is this going to be addressed in the next update? This bug essentially handicaps the ability of playing battalion live if you want to switch any presets and in turn patterns since switching presets is the only way you’re able to switch patterns at present.

I don’t want to come off curt, but out of all of the devs / bugs I’ve reported, this is the longest I’ve waited for a fix on a bug, and this is one of the more abrasive bugs I’ve seen, especially from the iOS Music Developer scene.

Yeah, at this point, I’m not surprised. Unfiltered Audio create Innovative, impressive, even, beautiful software that astounds me, truly. What they’re able to conjure up into existence, brilliant.

Unfortunately, the community parts of running a brand/plugin house leaves a lot to be desired, I’m sorry to say. Hope they’re able to sort that out, truly.

I appreciate the response, though, birthday or not, I’ve never had a developer wait that long to respond. Call it luck, but i’ve messaged a couple dozen devs at this point.

Also, the comment of loving it for what it is, is dismissive and disappointing to read.

I can’t love it for what it is, if it can’t do the thing the manual says it can do, while in AUV3, without completely crashing.

Never had a response like this by any developer, especially for one I own so many apps by.

As I’ve said, I’m checked out on this point. If it gets fixed, great, if it doesn’t, it is what it is. Doesn’t seem to be an issue for you guys at this point. Not going to hold my breath.

I’ll reevaluate future purchases I guess.

+1 for Batallion and Unfiltered Audio. I've had a great experience with the app. I really like the sounds and the low end and depth, which is often missing in a lot of iOS apps, but these come across as hefty and tight. My votes for the feature roadmap include MIDI Export, MIDI out and pattern export.

I'm puzzled that ppls want their 808, 909, save midi etc in Battalion.
Battalion its a noise beast of its own. Its a very modern and intricate noise laboratory,
I can't consider it a "drum machine" really...

Just had a quick look at the manual but couldn't find anything - can anyone confirm that there's no midi learn in Battalion? And if not, has it been mentioned as a possible update in the future? Love the idea of getting my midi fighter twister controlling some of these wild parameters...

Just wanted to say thanks to the dev for acknowledging it since I’ve mentioned it, already apologized if I caused any issues and said I’ll take some time off of the threads and forum. Not sure if you missed that, not sure what your responses intention.

I'm not offended by your interactions- I have extremely opinionated, strong views on software and understand that one small bug or issue can make or break a quality tool. It's infuriating for anyone that can see the full potential so I know that's where you were coming from. These tools are instruments and we're making art so it's great when people are passionate about the craft!

You might have gotten the impression that we were ignoring you out of laziness or indifference but now you know it's not the case. It's cool you listened to a bit of pushback from the others- that's rare these days and I commend you for it. Thanks for being here.

Thank you for the response, and for understanding the frustration.

Personally, I have a high standard for any tools I purchase and for ones that I end up using as frequently as I have your guys, I often become a big fan of the brand itself and it seems like I created an unattainable bar to meet based on some higher standard than I had any justification to set, so that's unfair and something I should and will work on.

I let that artificial and unfairly high bar for Unfiltered Audio get the better of me and emotionally reacted a bit poorly, but I appreciate you looking past that, and taking the time to respond. Still, I feel the need to apologize for being a bit much 😅

*Although Grok does sometimes seem like Musk's mini me opinion/politics wise, it can be very detailed about practical IOS music app questions, can it do etc.. or step by step guides for things like routing hardware/software...which some may find helpful.

Turn the bpm down to 30, hit randomize, then tweak. That sounds flippant, but it's really worked for me...

You can sequence/play individual midi channels for melodic stuff, etc.

And it sounds so damn good. And with the sample playback, it can literally sound like anything.

And I’d challenge anyone to offer up something with better, more powerful, and most importantly intuitive/easy to set up modulation option.

If there was a Nobel prize for synth, Batt is the clear winner for 2025…

I really hope the devs get rewarded financially and reputationally as the deserve for this thing…

There’s lots of options but I’m not menu diving or long pressing everything to get what I need. As soon as I saw where everything was the layout went from seeming busy to very neatly laid out. The learning curve is more muscle memory than functionality IMO.

Same for buying on release and just now getting into it. I find it much easier after changing the color scheme. The blue pink makes me a bit nauseous lol.

Yeah, there’s a lot going on - fortunately though a lot of the options (e.g. synth type chooser x 3) are duplicated, so there’s more chance of finding the right button!

Normally I don’t like complex apps that I have to relearn each time I use them (e.g. Drambo, Tera Pro…), but I’ve made an exception for this one, as for me, the end results are worth it.

Normally I don’t like complex apps that I have to relearn each time I use them (e.g. Drambo, Tera Pro…), but I’ve made an exception for this one, as for me, the end results are worth it.

Yeah I can get Drambo going but for the life of me can’t remember what I did to get there. It’s like picking up a Legend of Zelda save file in the middle of a dungeon I started months ago. Lots of puzzles, backtracking, and guides.
