I'm considering picking up FRMS with this discount. But I'm worried about its processor use as I want to be able to use it as part of a large project. Does using it with 4-8 voices of polyphony eat up more than ~15% of processing on an M2-M4 iPad Pro (256 buffer 44.1 khz)?

The mobile version only allows 4 voices. With our heaviest preset in those conditions it takes 36% of processing power (AUM metering). This test was made with a M1 iPad Pro. I supposed that with better CPU you will see this number dropping.

Anyway, for €3.5 is bargain!

Thanks for the reply! Any idea what buffer you were on?

    Regardless, app looks awesome!

The one you mentioned: 256

To anyone worrying about CPU with FRMS -- the synth definitely needs a lot of processing power once you're using polyphony and more complex patches, but I would argue that there are VERY few times a complex FRMS patch should be used polyphonically. A single voice on a complex FRMS patch can be so complex and nuanced that I think having multiple voices going on anything beyond a very simple patch will actually hide a lot of the uniqueness and beauty of your sound design.

I actually find myself mostly using a single voice when using FRMS -- I started this way because some of my devices are older, but I found that even on my M1 iPad Pro I was not using FRMS for chords, for example.

Anyway, FRMS and DRC are incredible synths. Powerful and beautiful. Presets on both synths are sound design accomplishments. Imaginando is one of the absolute best teams out there...they have an inspiring creative vision, they listen to the community when updating apps, they're responsive with customer service, and their videos are not just marketing materials -- they're great educational resources as well.

This is very true, most of the presets already have so much going on that one note at a time is more than enough. Happy birthday to you guys Nuno! @sinosoidal

  • I cleaned up on FRMS IAP’s… is another App featured for discounting?

  • edited June 9

L7D is all I could get my hands on! Pretty interfaces on these app

  • Frms is one of my favs! I loved learning how to make it work and jamming out on the amazing presets. I’ve created some fun jams just using a few frms and drum apps

  • edited June 7

Still relatively new to a lot things*, but snagged K7D on the first day (still haven't tried it. Weekend will be experimenting), and went all in on FRMS from others comments here

No real synth experience (grabbed a few over the past year of trial and erroring) but I feel I need to start learning at least basics of why those sounds happen, so I'm excited to dive in with these deep discounts (currently running thru presets and finding some delights)

Can't wait to see whats next!

Happy anniversary and thanks for the (admittedly) light attack on the wallet xD

[edit *unfamiliar with your products til this anniversary thread caught my attention]

I bought FRMS and the preset pack Sound of bassoon as only one preset. Is that normal ?

Not much of a sound pack.

No, it’s got a whole load in mine. Maybe contact Imaginando support?

Are you still having the issue of the one preset pack?

After a reboot it was fine

    DRC discount is live.

@sinosoidal I just purchased DRC on the desktop but I don't see the iOS IAPs in the account user area like I do with FRMS (where they are listed as Addons)?

Oh, I see them under the main DRC page. Not Addons. Got it

Hmm. Maybe only the desktop is discounted at the moment? Although I am sure I paid more than $2.99 originally but that is not the same as the 99c FRMS offers. Maybe wait for @sinosoidal to confirm.

  • ;@$!&, 🥺🫣 cant believe i missed FRMS. Dunno why but I was under the impression the sale on it would be valid until midnight tonight. I guess I’m used to sales coming and going on specific days and not until a certain time like 10pm, or whatever time it changed back.

Ah well its only 11 bucks anyways…

  • @sinosoidal - I notice when I edit a preset in FRMS (change the sample start position for example), it’s automatically saved. I don’t really want it to do this, is there a way to disable this?

    Thanks 🙂

When you edit a preset don't you get an asterisk next to the preset name?

Ah yes, just discovered the revert option. Would prefer it not to auto save, but this is a decent workaround - thanks!

Heads up, not seeing the discounts in the Android app. Still full unlock prices for the iaps

I did, however, pick up all packs on iOS though. Is there any chance that unlocking iaps on one OS will crossbuy to another? (While hopeful, completely understandable if not)

  • @xglax @sinosoidal

Sorry, just another quick question - I want to buy the FRMS desktop version, and transfer my iOS packs across, but even though I have all of your iOS products (including DRC unlock), I can’t remember setting up an account, and can’t find any record of this. Would the apps have used my Apple email account, or can I just register a new account through the apps, and use this on the desktop as well?

    Thanks!

Probably your purchases are linked to your apple account. In that case you just need to create an Imaginando account and login with it inside your FRMS iOS app. I'd suggest you also click on the "Restore Purchases" button in the "Store" tab of FRMS main menu after the login. This should link your expansion packs to your Imaginando account which will then become available on your desktop version as well

The prices were already changed. Maybe they weren't still updated in your country.
DRC in app purchases are not cross platform. Thats the only product which the expansion packs are not universal. However, the desktop version already has all the expansion packs available for free =)

  • DRC is one of those absolute solid synths that i could use for almost everything. It’s often forgotten with all the new shiney apps but this one stands the test of time. A true classic and i just grabbed all the presets just to support. I like to make my own sounds but all this companies presets are always so good that i will play and tweak a few of em
