  • On the BAM sequencers, when hosting an audio unit… can you record into the sequencer from external MIDI apps such as Fugue Machine?

    Imaginando changed my life.

When I had a series of tragic and cynical things happen (including, as the smallest problem, the dissolution of my longtime band and chosen family due to people engaging in band-ending lies and infidelity), I found myself with a broken heart and without a space to create music.

I had never thought much of desktop, let alone iOS production as something worth considering (live music is better, right lol), but I was suddenly alone and without the ability to make music in the way that I was accustomed (a band).

I don't know what prompted me to do this, but one day I started researching what IOS music production looked like. I honestly wasn't feeling very inspired or impressed...

But then I stumbled upon Imaginando's DRC. I felt something. Here was an instrument that had a gnarly deep sound that just grabbed me. It opened my eyes to possibilities. I heard an instrument that made me open up after feeling so closed and sad.

Now, I am an avid IOS and desktop musician.

It wasn't just DRC that did this, but it was a huge component. Then I saw how responsive and gracious Imaginando was in helping users, hearing feedback (even when people were snippy and rude), and staying true to a generous and inspiring vision of technology and artistry, I just felt a sense of possibility that I thought I had lost.

These guys at Imaginando approach business and app development with the passion and kindness of real musicians.

I really encourage anyone who is on the fence about trying these powerful and inspiring products to think again and give it a shot during this very generous sale. These guys are the real deal.

@sinosoidal I shared some of this with Henrique recently during a customer service chat, but just wanted to say again that you guys are appreciated.

  • @NoncompliantBryant that's so awesome and inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

  • @NoncompliantBryant A pretty inspirational account mate. Hoping things are better these days.

  • I went ahead and grabbed BAM it looks fun and simple to operate with a lot of complex options.
Aum and Logic are my go to creative spaces but this one will go into the list as well, its really simple to get ideas out and the work flow is pretty seemless.

I will complain about one thing. The top row of fx/instruments/modulators etc… When you go to twist the knobs the whole program you are using slides around like I’m trying to rearrange the order but I’m just trying to adjust the parameters

  • I’m trying to figure out if you can set scales on BAM with the keyboard/piano roll but an not seeing the option

    Awesome!

This is something we definitely need to find a solution. Thanks for complaining. We have the issue open but it was not solved yet.

We don't have scale on BAM yet. It's on our roadmap though.

Awesome! Please and thank you haha i need scales I’m not talented without them 🤣 i could probably add brams scaler for now to correct the notes.. I’ll try that out to see if i can route that.

Really good app tho. Very user friendly and you don’t get hung up trying to figure out how to do something, and can just focus on making some music!

@sinosoidal is there a way to recall presets i made on an auv3 that i saved In the auv3 preset browser in AUM, that i didn’t save in the actual app?

  • I’m sorry if this has already been answered, but can I use the BAM in-app purchase In the desktop app if I’ve bought it in the ipad app? I’m signed into my account in both, and have pressed the restore purchases button, but nothing happens.

Two finger swipe to scroll left/right?

  • @sinusoidal Is there any way to access all my Audioshare samples from within BAM?

You need to login with your Imaginando account on BAM iOS to sync your purchases. Have you tried that?

It's working now, thank you! Obrigado. (I hope I've got that right - my Portugese neighbours (husband, wife, two kids and Portugese podengo dog - which is very sweet unless you're a cat) told me it's obrigado for male and obrigada for female, but I'm not sure whether the difference is for the person speaking or listening.)

You would need to load the AUv3 in AUM, recall the preset, and save it using the app. The preset files are visible in the Files app, under AUM/Audio Unit Presets, in case you need to move them to a different device. Those files are likely in a different format than used by the app.

Yes, that's correct. If you are a male, you say obrigado. If you are a female you say obrigada. Languages nuances. But the result is the same. Obrigado is universal.

Thanks for your support and feedback!

    Best regards,

    Nuno

That's very interesting. In Spanish the word "gracias" is universal, but "obrigado/a" utilises word gender. I learn something new everyday. 😃

Ahhh copy that! Appreciate it man!

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I’ve got a feature request for DRC!

    • A button to select Noise as a modulation source (a la Model D and others) in the OSC Mod tab. Perhaps it can be implemented in the SRC 2 section of the Mod tab (there is empty space for it in the iPhone version). Currently, noise can be used as a modulation source, but only in the filter section, and everything in DRC is hardwired/deliberate by design.

Edit: I’ve got another feature request! - an undo button. Currently, there’s a button to revert to original state, but not undo/redo.
