cool. any video demos out there?
Does it send midi ?
So it’s like KB-1, plus a harmonizer and an arpeggiator? Wouldn’t this be better built in to its own synth? Maybe someone could give me some examples of where this could be used ideally.
Video?
Yes, its a MIDI plugin.
Happy to weigh in here. Originally it was supposed to offer similar functionality than KB-1 but designed for use with an external keyboard, since people kept asking for it. Over time it grew to cover a lot of use cases tho.
Here are a few:
working on it.
Wait for a buy
I'd also like to see this in use. Thanks.
I got it and it seems potentially good and useful but I've found some problems:
Biggest one so far is that if I change any of the quantizer settings, root or scale, while it receives notes, it often stops functioning. No longer hear anything or getting an output. Reloading it is the only way to get it going again. This happens so frequently that it makes it unusable.
In AUM, looking at the midi routing, there are 62 ! midi inputs going to Harmonicer. That must be a mistake.
When sending midi notes to Harmonicer it uses the velocity of the notes, which is good. But when I use the ARP, I can't control the velocity output. It always sounds too loud and must be fixed at a high velocity. I think it needs a velocity setting for the arp.
So it looks promising but that's my bug report.
@ka010 Any chance for an iPhone port? I'd love to buy to use it.
Sorry about this, I've had other reports but are still trying to reproduce it here. Expect a fix soon tho.
It is... you can safely ignore them, they'll be gone with 1.0.1
this too is fixed in 1.0.1
Thank you, I appreciate it!
It'll most likely go universal at some point.
I thought it was a Harmonica virtual instrument from the thread title. 😂
Looks handy though ...
Sounds good. Thank you for the speedy reply mate.
Great to hear. As a phone only user, MIDI tools get heavy use from me.
@ka010
Got 66 inputs in AUM. Looking out for 1.01.
Just uploaded, should be out later today.
But I wanted to use 66 note chords! It’s a feature
Great app @ka010
Just bought it, looks intriguing.
Anyone know how to move the keyboard under the controls instead of to the right as shown? I’ve seen it in the manual, but can’t find how to move it.
Didn't see any way to do that. I'm guessing maybe what is shown in the manual is an older version of the app but I'm sure @ka010 could comment.
@ka010, Congratulations on the new app, it looks promising.🤩 I can’t wait to watch the demonstrations.
One question? Is there a dark version of the UI?
The keyboard is under the controls in the standalone version but in the AU it's on the right...
Currently its on the bottom for standalone and on the right for AUv3. Starting with 1.0.2 it'll move to the bottom when resizing the AUv3
I like this!
thx!
1.0.1 is live https://apps.apple.com/us/app/harmonicer/id6468485333
Definitely curious to see this in action! Looks fun
Thanks for the update, it certainly has helped a lot. I don’t know whether it’s me but I seem to be having problems when using the keyboard in AUM, I’ve even tried your KB1 and I still have problems. When I play a note on the keyboard it sometimes doesn’t produce any sound or the sound is latched and won’t stop. I’ve kept the setup simple with KB1 going into Harmonicer and Harmonicer into an instrument (I tried various). I would be grateful for any help or advice.
This should be fixed in 1.0.2 which is out now.
Thanks 👍😀
Sure thing. If something's still off please do let me know!
Me too. My teeny brain can't really figure out what this does...but I get the feeling that it might be a useful tool in my current toolbelt. Looking forward to a vid or 2...
Working on it!
