  • @Gavinski That’s very pretty!

How does the note quantiser filter input? Does it just reject out of scale notes or does it offer up/down/reject options?

Is there a link to the manual anywhere?

There is a manual on Kai’s site: https://numericalaudio.com/harmonicer/manual/harmonicer_manual.pdf

I haven’t checked but I think it moves out of scale notes up. You don’t have any control over the behaviour, though, of course, that would be handy,

  • Thanks o:)

It'll find the next note in scale. I was going to add an option for different modes but didn't want to break anything in the initial release so it's still on my todo list...

  • I'd love to see an AUv3 DrumJam or similar

@ka010 have you thought about maybe adding an option for rate in milliseconds? That would really open up the possibilities for experimental uses of Harmonicer.

    Yep, I concur.

I could probably add that but I'm having a hard time seeing how this would be useful at all. What would you use it for?

Oh, super nice to do organic speeding up and slowing down of arpeggiation, like this:

Oh I see, that would require some way to modulate the rate too tho, not sure what that might be or where it could live but let me think about it!

    I dig this app!
I wish there was a way to put rests in on the arp tho! Get a chord playing a drone/pad and the arp just randomly spit out a mini sequence then fade back to the chord… like some ambient dubby stuff. And that would give a lil more variation and let the pad just drift a while. I do this now with sequencing but would be a sick thing for an app to do! Just by holding down a few keys!

Cheers Kai. It only requires a knob rather than a button, and then the user can adjust it by hand, as I'm doing here, or via exposed AUv3 parameter if they prefer. Definitely useful though.

I feel like @Gavinski has explained it, by pointing to the Bleass Arpeggiator.

How come nobody has done a video on this app?

The developer did say that one was in the pipeline. I presume no one else (apart from Gav behind their paywall on patreon) has produced one yet is because the app has had a number of issues on release. Hopefully, now there’s been some updates, someone will do one. I bought the app on release but must admit, on reflection I wish that I had waited!

Funnily enough just encountered another issue. Harmonicer receiving midi from Ochtacron and outputting to XinematiX in AUM. Whilst changing arp settings XinematiX crashes and I have to reload it. Not sure if the problem lies with Harmonicer or XinematiX but it’s frustrating! Tried app support on Harmonicer Numerical Audio website but clicking on contact doesn't do anything??

I'll try to reproduce but since the receiving app is crashing I'm going to assume its an issue on their end.
Fixed the website tho, thanks for point it out!

For some reason the arp isn’t working at all now. I’ve reloaded Harmonicer but still nothing!! It’s ok if you take arp off but nothing when you apply it.

I've found an issue with the pedal modes that can kill the arp without crashing the app. This might be what happened here. Reloading the plugin should fix this tho.

    Also fixed in 1.0.3.

  • 1.0.3 is out https://apple.co/3KYPA0G

    • Fixed an issue where automating or CC mapping parameters would not work properly
    • Fixed an issue where the Arpeggiator would stop working in some case
  • This looks very powerful! @ka010 any chance this will work on macos in the future? Would love to be able to use it in logic after working on ipad.

  • any chance this will come to iphone down the road?

@ka010 told me it may go universal at some point. Wish it was universal right away like their other apps so I could purchase it.

    Yes, sometime next week.

Yes. Pleeeeeeeease bring all apps to macOS. Being able to maintain Logic Pro and GarageBand settings between platforms would be a real productivity boost.

I would love to, please! Have all your apps and am super stoked about you exploring midi. Love your design aesthetic and the way you use it to help us access powerful sound design and composition possibilities.

This is a very inspiring app. Love all the nice touches you clearly thought a lot about that make this tool capable of adding exciting and surprising harmonic complexity that is still guided by the musician. Love how in the weeds or high level this app can be for layering sound.

Guys, don't sleep in this one.

Yeah sure, will it work in Ableton?

  • I’d definitely check it out if there’s an intel version ;)

It's a MIDI plugin which Ableton doesn't support but the standalone version does work great with it.

    There is indeed :)

Guys, please send a DM and I'll be happy to send an invite!

  • I was going to pass on this one but I watched a couple of the YouTube videos and the capability to route chordal notes across unique MIDI tracks scratches an itch for me. I like to send multi-part MIDI into Staffpad so I can assign the parts to various orchestral sections or instrumental groups.

Here’s my first experiment assigning the notes of an 8 bar loop across many instruments using cut and paste from the original 8 bars:

The capability to generate unique chords by scale tone is also a cool idea. I wish the scale notes extended to 12 notes for the chromatic option and up to 2 octaves to generate some great jazz style
    two-handed voicings. Like:

  • Harmonicer landed on MacOS!

Universal App (iPhone, iPad, Mac) Apple Silicon and Intel!

And it's still available for the intro price of just $5.99

I hope this is a successful app for you. The user interface is brilliant. I’m loving the channel per note
for creating instant choirs, brass, woodwind and string sections. I’m sure many also appreciate multi-port out.

I’m going to buy your FD-1 Filter Delay just to show my appreciation for this gem.
