New update looks great, however I’m still trying to figure out how to record into it.

In the oscillator look for audio in. But I am still figuring out how to work it and get something interesting

  • Love the new update the the load sample button!

I love Stacks, Strokes is good too, but I really love Stacks, I can’t wait to try out the new features.

This video will give you a good idea of some of the interesting things you can do just using the internal synth engine and sequencer.

Wonderful and much needed as always, thank you, brother

    Great update!

But have anyone figured out how to get the sequencer time bending to work? I think I have located the controls (seq mod on the dropdown next to the sequencer) but no matter what I do, my sequence still runs straight.

You need to set the Oscillator to Audio In and then the sequencer trigs act like gates for your source audio. Or you can turn up the Drone knob on the top right to get the signal flowing continuously.

Thanks guys. Got that all sorted now.

You can hear the time bending work if you increase the trig amount per step. It seems to affect the timing of the ratchets rather than the sequence as a whole. Modulating the time bend knob leads to some pleasing rhythmical variation, especially with delay and reverb.

Still not sure what the note length knob does yet… the journey continues.

Ah - thanks a lot! I thought (hoped) it influenced the sequencer clock in whole, so couldn't figure out why nothing happend. But still a great feature!

  • "Cong Burn dev of Strokes" sounds like some aristocratic title of a knight from an alternative universe to me (I am German).

    Well deserved ;)

This looks like it could generate some interesting loops, I could feed into my Digitakt

  • bit pricey 😊

Well worth it though. It’s a really deep app

  • …and unique 🏆

  • yup, worth it

  • If Stacks has confused you, the new pdf manual is here to help (it's now written in the same artist friendly manner as the Stokes manual):

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LgTR2RgSukRO8WQXWs5mL3jUXn6qQCrq/view

John's plugins/M4L devices have long been favourites of mine on the desktop, but with Stacks I tend to use it most often on iPadOS. Loopers have always been a great match for the strengths of iPadOS, especially when the UX is well-thought-out, and Stacks has a particularly strong UI/UX.

Ref price. Absolute agreement with ^, both Strokes and Stacks are worth every penny. You need to invest a little time to get the best out of them, but once their interaction models click, it's bombs away!

Blimey, I’ve got an MS20 here, I feel like I’m being wooed, Stacks is already on my list (but a bundle deal would push me over the edge…go on go on go on…).

I can’t see anything triggering the MS20 - are you just sampling in the Korg, live?

  • Hmm, another update coming? How did he get detail view of all 4 loops stacked vertical like that…

I have an sq-1 doing the percussive stuff midway thru, but otherwise yea just layering up the korg step by step
