  • Now this is exciting to see! Buchla clone, baby!

  • At that price... I think I'll get it whether I need it or not. LOL.

  • iOS 16.6 or later required…

  • I am on iOS 13. Pass

  • A13 fusion chip.

    What does it mean.

It will be all resourses of an ipad 9 which is just A13 bionic ?

There is no A13 fusion chip as far as I can tell. My guess is that the dev meant A13 Bionic.

    Thanks.

What about different color schemes ?

I think I had to refund another va.

Just where all black consumes the writing

but I do have eye disorder.

  • Oh this was an instant buy for me.
Does the developer’ other apps have a lighter theme or any color scheme adjustments?

Nope. He likes one look with slight variations.

  • This is an amazing surprise!!!!

  • This dev is on fire!

  • How does the sound compare to, say, Hilda? Love me a low pass gate!

  • I eventually get freezes in both stand alone and AUv3. UI becomes unresponsive. I will chalk this up to only rocking a A12 Bionic on my iPad Air 3. Sound quality is very good. It’s pretty difficult to read the labels for me as an AUv3.

I really dig VADrum2 for 808 909 duties. TfxEcho and reverb are both also superb. Echo is a nice highly transparent delay. Verb sounds great but is pretty darned CPU intensive.

  • I love Universal Purchases.

  • I’m glad to see a little bit of color in Ryo products. ;) On first play, it looks like a solid new take on the Buchla West Coast synthesis. Only one feature is missing: there is no external input source in the modulation oscillator.

Interesting synth for countless hours of experimentation. So far, I like it. 👍

BTW, you really need a strong iPad for this one. On my old iPad 6th generation, as soon as you touch the keyboard and any knob at the same time, it gets instantly frozen.

  • It’s a beast, I can only run it on my phone, but it sounds amazing. It also has a great UI for the phone, Ryo has really improved their UIs for phone usage

  • Only played with it a bit so far, but it's his best synth.

The types of sounds you can get with just a few tweaks is wow.

I’m glad I kept my powder dry in a lot of the soundalikes this dev puts out as this one is a worthy prize… the sequencer feels a bit sticky/tricky using on my max size phone, but maybe it’s user error…I meant the piano roll one btw…

Bit of a lockup on my air three as well 🫤

Same. I wish more devs would do it.

Thanks & good to know! This is my first exposure to this dev’s work.
The ui is going to take some getting used to. The full screen ui on my iPad Air is very very cramped & the labels are hilariously, illegibly small.
The half screen with the top & bottom buttons is a lil more functional for me, but I’m not yet seeing how to access the effects section parameters in this smaller ui mode.

    Super intrigued to explore this!

  • It’s a really interesting and fun synth, but in standalone it doesn’t show all the controls on my iPad mini. All is good in Aum.

It’s different. Feels a little less gnarly in sound a little more tameable. I like it so far but the manual is 108 pages long!! ;)

Yes,wow, that dev makes long manuals! Doesn't look like it would be very complicated tho

  • Damn I need this lol …this is the rent check though so gotta wait til royalties come in !

  • The font size should be a bit larger, I think the UI has space for that.
I think it’s very interesting, messed around with it, tweaked around and I kind of have no clue how this works, not used to this type of synths :D :# But usually the most interesting things will come out of experiments. I hope some of our finest reviewers here will do a review on this.

I managed to tweak while playing polyphony with nothing locking up on my SE2 👍

However, I kinda regret the purchase because I barely understand the principles of regular Modular, let alone west coast, and also I don’t feel I currently have the capacity for any deep learning, or any soul left in me for child-like experimentation.
But I do agree with someone that something more malleable is quicker to obtain than Hilda, but the sequencer in Hilda is more understandable.
But I may be comparing apples to oranges, even tho their both W.C.

  • I just bought an op1f but i still need this haha this dev makes great stuff at killer prices. All of his synths can get confusing on what’s what but this one seems quite different n good

  • This really gets close to my west coast modular setup in sound, it reacts in ways I expect it to as well. Really great work

  • Here is a demo for the VAPolyWest, no talking but you'll get the idea
