I thought this would get more attention than it has…
Me too.
It did better in the charts than some other recent releases. I would imagine the UI might be preventing it getting more love.
agree! He needs a graphic designer and synth namer
I wonder how many people thought it was a continuation of VAPoly/16/MII/Quad and got even more confused..,.
UI doesn’t bother me…I’m just glad it’s not one of those white ones like the default skin of KQ Dixie otherwise it’d be a hard nope for me. Granted I don’t have it as of yet and I might feel differently once I do, but from pictures and videos the UI looks fine to me
I'm really enjoying this!
Me too!
Here’s a far too long video of me tweaking a patch that isn’t a Krell. Skip around a bit if it’s boring.
This hands down makes me want to purchase
) it’s worth it I think!!
Same!
How long is the sale again?
Until Setptember 1st
Ok cool 😎
This is synth of the year for me
Yeah it does sound good from the videos !
Anyone know how to configure the UI so that you can see what these dials do? Their functions aren’t visible and I can’t access them
They are the source dials for modulation. If you twist them it should change the mod source, visible on the horizontal blue bar above all the knobs. It looks like there should be something underneath them, but in fact there isn’t. The source label above is for them. They are also Colour coded to show where the modulation is coming from. Eg blue for sequencer.
Can you turn them?
I have to say it works better as an auv3in aum
Dang this thing is only 6$ sheesh! That’s a steal
Alas
Hi. Actually, their functions are visible. They are the modulation Source input selectors. The control names appear above the controls, even though they are closer to the control above the name. I had trouble with this at first, but I'm getting used to it.
Also, check out the built-in manual. It's extremely detailed.
Cool, thanks for helpful responses @sevenape and @uncledave
Time to redeem that complimentary $10 bonus?
lol I wish…it basically doesn’t actually exist . It’s just a marketing tool to get you to add link to safari …and has to be done via Mac IIRC (I don’t have a Mac). In any case it’s actually $10 of points to use for specific shopping sites.
I never heard back from the member who’d offered it so I have to see how stuff is for me at the end of the month
Well I got it now and…this sounds freaking AMAZING!!!
Awesome! Fun stuff. It has a nice rich sound 💕
Works great on an intel Mac too for those wondering, as do the other apps from Ryo Togawa.
I don’t know much at all about west coast synthesis, though i very much enjoy using Hilda.
My lack of knowledge means I can’t work out whether this offers things which Hilda doesn’t?
Does it?
Yes it's different from Hilda, it's pretty much a clone of the buchla Easel, a legendary 60s semi modular synth. There are a lot more modulation possibilities with VApolywest, so it's more suited for generative special effects stuff. Having said that Hilda can get a much more aggressive sound and does a great "broken sound" if that's what you want!
I don’t think you could do a self playing patch quite like this in HILDA, I could be proven wrong though!!

I am hoping that loopops video on the buchla easel helps make this make sense 😂
Great sounding presets, and a couple tweaks takes you to another planet
Thanks @sevenape, really appreciate the advice. Enjoyed the clips you linked to too. Cheers.
