    That’s an awesome shot 🔥

Yes, this one is great. Mexico is such a photogenic country

    Thanks ☺️

I know very little about photography but I love this app, it makes such fun photos. I took these are walking uptown on 8th Ave in NYC in the garment district area after a gig last week. I was holding 2 backpacks and a garment bag, so if I’m a little tilted that’s why!

The “gritty” setting is especially fun to get the NYC in the 970’s and 80’s look without the danger…

  • @mrufino1 great shots, love the middle one 👍

We can thank @brambos for that! I can just about point a camera at the subject. I’m much better at pointing microphones than lenses. I got the iPhone 15 pro recently though and the camera is nice (I’ve never had a pro before).

  • Curious… I’m still on the iPhone 11 Pro and about due for an upgrade. If I don’t want to pay the latest/greatest premium for the 16pro, what the best value for photo purposes? 14pro or 15pro?

I think the 15 Pro will be the smartest choice. It’s the only previous-gen phone that gets all the iOS 18+ goodies. I think older models will find themselves falling off the wagon a bit earlier than usual.

  • @brambos That’s what I’m thinking. Maybe I’ll wait until the folks who like to have the latest, trade in their lightly used 15pros, and pick up one as an Apple refurbished. They give you the same warranty on those as new.

The 16 will be the only one that has the “google lens” type AI function where you hold the camera button on something and it can “do AI things” with it. Won’t be able to do that on the 15.

You know, it has exactly that feeling. He will probably choose those people for his models. ;)

It looks like we in the EU won’t get any AI things at all so it won’t make much of a difference.

I’m also not too interested in AI in the first place so I’ll stick with my 15 Pro and Human Intelligence.

That's what I was going to say (although I was going to say Edward Hopper).

Won’t the Apple Intelligence stuff require a subscription though?

Currently, I can point my 11 pro at stuff like plants and it’ll give me info about it

I just don’t end up actually using the tech I pay for. I mean, I’ve got an M2 iPad Pro that I barely use because I like the form factor and weight of my lowly iPad mini 5 better.

Looks like I’ll have to wait because I don’t see any iPhone 15pros in the Apple refurb inventory yet.

Kinda depends on the price difference. I also get a decent discount as a military veteran

This one is super nice! Scenes with lots of foliage and scattered contrast are notoriously hard to capture.

Those are lovely, such a wonderful location too -- endless landscape photography opportunities that suit the XP4N perfectly.

  • Wow @Tarekith, the b/w South Sister reminds me a lot of Ansel Adams :o

I get spoiled by nature here, hard to believe these were all taken on a 2 day backpacking trip.

Thanks, B&W landscape and nature photography is one of my primary focuses these days 🙃. XP4N has been great for that, especially considering how disappointing the new 48MP ultrawide camera is on the iPhone 16 Pro.

I selected this photo from my XP4N library due to its interesting nature and focus on human subjects. I never thought about likenes with the fantastic work of Rockwell. 🫣 Thank you!

Have you tried using the telephoto lens for a panoramic shot?

  • edited October 2

I know it has been mentioned above, @brambos, but I would second any option to do a ‘multipass’ on a scene, as I currently find I take one using each filter in turn anyway, then wait until I get the images on a big screen with my IPad Pro or Mac mini before deciding which one(s) to pick for print or use for further digital dickering. A ‘one-click and you got ‘em all’ option would be great…

No, but I tend to avoid stitching things together after the fact. Just lazy. 😎. Unless you meant something else?
