Ok guys, please let it rest.

Obviously I don't make a living doing 99 cent apps, so I have a pretty intensive day job eating up most of my time. I have only a limited amount of time to keep track of - and respond to - all the communication channels where people try to contact me.

I try to read all suggestions, and consider them seriously, even if I don't openly discuss them or even acknowledge them. In fact, I have learned over the years to be careful discussing feature suggestions since even acknowledging them can raise expectations that I will actually implement them.

    Love it! Where is it?

Thank you. 🫶 The photo was taken in Rijeka, Croatia.

Nice! Croatia has been recommended to me a lot recently, but I’ve also read that it’s become so popular with tourists lately that the prices for rooms and such have gone way up too

Unfortunately, it’s true, prices have gone up in the entire EU. 😔

@brambos regarding the request to make the app shoot multiple LUTs at once…

I don’t think this is needed at all.
    ...
That said, it’s not up to me… but I think the app should remain with minimal settings to adhere to the app developer’s original vision.

I agree! It's about limitations, not features. Essentially point and shoot, so you can focus on the subject and composition and make the best of the desired LUTs.

  • I think a good solution would be if you could see the film effects in realtime as you compose the shot. Not sure if that’s feasible though.

That's been addressed earlier in the thread. It's not due to the heavy processing load.

Yeah, indeed. It’s not just a LUT that’s being applied. It’s an extensive sequence of manipulations (like a Photoshop action with 10-15 filter/adjustment steps) which can take a second or two on older phones.

A responsive viewfinder needs at least 30 FPS, and applying the film manipulations in realtime would slow it down to a slideshow…

Nah was not that bad.. we weere on Croatia road trip with my wife this summer (istria -> rijeka -> crikvenica -> senj -> plitvice) and don't feel it was that bad... we rented AirBnb appartments at places where we did stay and prices were +/- same like in Austria (where we was before Croatia) ..

It's not bad, but in a way it's on par with other European destinations. Definitely not as cheap as it used to be. It depends on the location, of course. I spent the entire summer in Rovinj, and I must say that I'm still not used to paying €4 for one hour of parking.

Thank you! It was! We spent the weekend.

  • @lasselu oh that is beautiful.

An idea arised in my head... A lay-over grid that also works as a spirit-level, or maybe a digit number on the screen that indicates how level the picture is in degrees, or even a straight horizon level blimber, like the focus blimp you see in the viewfinder of a camera.

That foggy background really adds to the atmosphere! Love it 😊

  • I have a small Fuji x100s that I love dearly, but I never like the green from the camera's jpeg. XP4N's green, however, is lovely! Dreary places could easily become magical. 👍

  • @Artj great shots! I especially love the last with the reflections and the sadness dripping into the water.

  • Thank you, @drez! All credits go to XP4N and @brambos because I just pointed and pressed the button. I showed many images in this thread to friends and they all said they look like still shots from movies. This is one app that does what it seeks to do successfully!

  • I'm actually kind of torn now, XP4N filled the gap for me with film simulations while I waited for the X100VI to ship that I pre-ordered months ago. Just got an email that my X100VI shipped today, and while I should be excited.... not so sure now. :)
