I love black and white photography,
    semi-pro photographer here. ;)

    These are great photos.

Composition, texture, location and really good eye.

I'm not going to highlight all the ones that I like
however the ones I've seen so far are amazing.

Anyways I'm getting the app. :)

Just got an email that my X100VI shipped today, and while I should be excited.... not so sure now. :)

I can help you test the new X100VI for a few months until you really need it, just saying... :D

I'm actually kind of torn now, XP4N filled the gap for me with film simulations while I waited for the X100VI to ship that I pre-ordered months ago. Just got an email that my X100VI shipped today, and while I should be excited.... not so sure now. :)

It's funny how the VI somehow seems to have captured the attention of the world. I've shot several X100 models since the first one and it's a concept that really clicks with me: a compact rangefinder with just a single (fantastic!) lens and a selection of shooting/film modes. And impeccable industrial design.

I've always had to "explain" why I'd pick that over a DSLR with a bag full of lenses (or it was just flat out dismissed as an overpriced hipster camera). And now suddenly everyone seems to get it :D

But I can safely say that most of my favourite photos were shot on an X100[...] camera. <3

See what I mean? This guy is a talent show by himself ^ Richard, I might swipe that for cover art ;)

  • I’m with @drez, addicted to this thread, fantastic new shots everyone. 🤩

@Tarekith, that ominous smoke in the forest looks scary and magnificent. @ecou I love that giant white snake, fantastic. @lasselu, the moon is so big and inspiring these days. @richardyot, this is the most romantic bench in this thread. @Artj, I’m sure there is crock creeping in that water. @Krupa, lush forest texture, different mood for every one of them. ❤️

Wow, that's spectacular. Somehow the combination of those 4 makes the whole thing extra intriguing. And with the surreal color cast. I love this! <3

  • @Luxthor : Wow, where is that place, and how did you manage to get that color??
@Krupa : Lovely forest shots there!

I’m looking forward to shooting jpeg (well HEIF) and not having to worry about what lens I put on my A7CR when I go out for walk. Be nice to simplify things and just focus on the moment, which is why I think XP4N resonated so much with me. 🤗

Yes, that was one of the massive draws for me too. It's really liberating not even having to think about zoom. But also practically... I wouldn't have lugged my DSLR photo bag up the Kilimanjaro, but the X100 just disappeared in my pack without sacrificing quality.

Thank you! 🫶 I didn’t want to use naming, but as theme it goes like: sun, king, moon, death, and aeternitas on separate post.

It’s our local graveyard, on all four I used XP4N “Low Light - Cinestill” mode by daylight.
Edit: moon shot is taken by night, of course! ;)

Lol I had to go back to look for that snake. 😂

  • Great shots @Luxthor and @skiphunt !

i think what really sucks me in is the aspect ratio. It's so "not what i see all the time" and forces the photog to frame things differently to get a result. Well, that and the filters BUT STILL, i think its how its "presented" to me that flutters my putter!

Thanks for the info—low light is amazing 👍. This one is like a movie scene, oh man!

You'll love it. More dynamic range, less noise.
I can highly recommend DxO PureRaw and FilmPack.
I'm still stunned by the quality I can now get from my high ISO raw files. Miles ahead from the phone pics.

This sunrise looks so warm and peaceful, and that seaside looks completely different from the Mediterranean one. Great shot!

  • Long legs 😁
