Since they've ignored my emails and support requests, and promoted the sale of a product that was known to be discontinued literally weeks later, it's fair to say I won't be buying any of their products ever again.

    Fool me once...

    Which product was discontinued ?

OneShot, literally weeks after I bought it after their promo sale.

    It's fine. Done. Lesson learned.

OneShot is now discontinued? wow. Did they remove it from the app store already?

Not that one, the desktop version. It's been completely replaced by a new product, though I'm guessing the iOS app will go the same way.

OoOf! That's painful. It would be ideal if they fixed the bugs in the existing one first, before asking people to pay for a new one. That would be fair. I get your frustration!

He's just bitter which I can understand but what he says is total bullshit. V1 is not discontinued or deprecated. E.g there will be new sound packs for those interested and surely maintenance too. So, you can go on create good drums with V1.

They didn't say anything - that's the issue, and they've been blocking comments on YouTube.

A bit more effort on customer relations wouldn't go amiss.

Would you care to show me where the original desktop version of OneShot is available on their website?

So I'm wrong about it being available, they don't want to sell both, nothing weird about that. Hey, I don't want to argue so I wrote to them and asked straight up about support and maintenance for V1. Let's hear what they say before continuing. Alright with you?

I also wrote to ask them about this last week as well so hopefully they’ll respond. I also gave them a heads up about the potential problems of trying to give existing users a discount using the AppStore bundle route. I mentioned the Baby Audio Transit 2 route as a different approach but that might be hoping for too much!

  • For what tiny little its worth, so long as they release it on ios, I'll put up with whatever the price is and whatever bugs it still suffers from. Not expecting much. But the sound being the best we currently have for highly playable acoustic stuff, at a fraction of the size of XLN Addictive, makes it still worth 40 GBP, to me, regardless. What would be even better is multi out not going wrong, and it actually being usable in the way they claimed, as a sampler with your own slots! I'm not suggesting anyone should feel like this. Its just a perspective.

Yeah well: their horrible crime is: they released a new app over an older and reading you totally shit over them for it, yeah I got annoyed because this is not IK or any other gang of crooks but in my experience a couple of good guys. I might be wrong, time will tell.

I'm sorry for my bitter comment.

Sorry to be clear, currently, on Logic Pro ipad 2.2 it is working great for me, old issues are sorted, multi out is working, and I'm not moving to 3.0 and os26 for at least the next six months to be sure everything stays that way for now.

imo having critique over something that is essentially the only option for multi-sampled drums on the platform is not "shitting on them" it's simply asking to be treated better when you are treated better in many different industries and by other developers in the same exact market. Klevgrand is a MARKET LEADER that continually provides sub-standard software and support to us. Why do people ride for them so hard?

We have very little standards here on ios/ipad, lots of you just eat slop and are happy that someone gave us anything at all, that's not how it should be. you should demand better for your money. That includes support for things you've already bought and are not maintained at all.

An ios/ipad app has different needs than a desktop program, an ios app needs different optimizations and care taken to it. It should take into account the touch screen, the UI should ACTUALLY scale and you should be able to use your own sounds without rampant bugs if marketed as such. None of this is given to us. Stop trying to defend bad cash grab apps when we are continually fed poorly-made ports of desktop programs.

You're pushing away a member of your community in attempt to stand up for a company that gives no fucks about you or how you make music lol...looking like the men's Olympic hockey team eating Big Macs for Daddy Warbucks...

  • At least with round robin no one needs to keep banging on the same old drum.

That's pretty low (a little bit funny but not much) I don't agree with you either but I'm happy to leave it at that, Ayatolla Glove. • I have made a new song that I want to start mixing but I’m stuck waiting for multi out to work again 🙃

I was hoping it was a pretty easy fix.

Lately I been mixing without the multi out. I find it works just as well inside One Shot. I do a freeze of the drums with the kick soloed and another with the snare soloed to used as side chains.

Nice one. Side chaining was my main concern.

  • I've got a reply from Klevgrand regarding continued support for version 1. The answer is: "of course we will continue to support OneShot". She also asked for the link to this thread, if they come here it'll be a first I think.

That's exactly the answer I would have expected from a ‘reputable dev’ when the replacement version was released, and not a week later after being repeatedly asked by its customers.

That's exactly the answer I would have expected from a ‘reputable dev’ when the replacement version was released, and not a week later after being repeatedly asked by its customers.

    True

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle the iOS v2 - if it’s not part of a bundle, then the current version will no longer exist, and so not receive bug fixes.

I've got a reply from Klevgrand regarding continued support for version 1. The answer is: "of course we will continue to support OneShot". She also asked for the link to this thread, if they come here it'll be a first I think.

Great, thank you for clarifying that they'll continue support for v1, and that's exactly the answer I would have expected from a reputable dev 👍

It'll have to be a separate app, like with transit 1 and 2. They'll probably do a bundle, and that's where the problems will start, because many people won't end up getting a discount and will feel less incentive to upgrade. As much as I might grumble about various aspects of Baby Audio and their apps, I do think they found as good a solution to this problem as they could (though tbh, within such a short space of time, I'd prefer it was just a free update), and other devs would do well to pay attention to how they handled things.

You must have a hot line to them, I’ve still not heard back almost a week later…

That's odd. Did you use the support ticket option? I did.
I also wrote in Swedish but that shouldn't matter. 😃
