I think the genral consensus was this
https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/43733/convert-drummer-to-a-midi-drum-track-in-garageband-ios/p1
in regards to GB drums.
I haven't tried it myself as I'm knee deep in hard hitting house drum samples at the moment.
After doing the remix the other day as an example of what an Air 3, dRambo + Loopy Pro + guitar
can do I've lined up another 5 acapellas just for fun.
There seems to be a couple of things you need to do before getting the midi parts themselves however it is doable.
Check the link above.
A perfect combination.
Go for it.
Hi @musicplayer
You may want to listen to what DrumPerfect Pro ( DPP ) can do and how drums/percussion tracks sound.

It answers all you requests:
Add to that:
and more...
The full list of the update new features will be announced soon.
@espiegel123 , @telecharge
Last testings before update release. We are still here.
Hi,
@Gilbert...I am thrilled that you and Marinus are still working on DPP!!
I looked y'all up and thought maybe both you and Marinus were doing other things..like Marinus inventing some haptic medical device that will save many lives.......or you travelling the world taking beautiful photographs and playing amazing music in candlelit mysterious places!:-)
I was on the last beta but then the beta ended and I could no longer contact you both.
I have about three kits I made from your great acoustic drum samples. They play really well on my e-kit. And I'm comparing them to my Superior Drummer 2 on PC.
I realize that because I don't use the sequencer side of DPP, I may not be the ideal beta candiudate , but I use the hell out of the sound module side of DPP!
Gilbert can you tell me if DPP is working under ios18?
And how can I request another beta test flight? I understand that many new features are in the seq side of DPP, but I'll test anything you want.
Thanks to you and Marinus for making and supporting this great app!
I'm also known as lugnut in your records.
Its a great day!!
Never got auto jam to work
I hope I can figure that out with a tutorial
I’m glad to see you’re working on things man
DPP was all we had until one shot. But your drums have a great sound of realism and awesome sequencer
DPP IS STILL IN THE GAME @espiegel123 was right
Glad to hear it! 👍
Mentioned over on the Beepstreet forum.

"Midi file drag to launcher crash fixed" - true, it works! Has this feature been there before? I didn´t know we could drag midi files into clips. Nice! Got my Garageband Drummer midi in, working fine with OneShot.
This is drag n dropping GB midi files into dRambo for use with OneShot.
Mhm! Pretty sure it has worked historically and I recall using it with a midi file via Files app in Slide-Over view.
Doesn’t work on iPad . If it does it’s complicated.
I guess I Might as well just send the drummer from Logic Pro 11 out to Cubasis
Ignore the crash report because that's been fixed now.
The focus is on the drag and dropping midi files from GB into dRambo or any other app that can use midi files.
I still haven't tried it myself and I most probably won't ever try it because I sequence my own drums.
That's one way of doing it I suppose.
Just run a midi cable and job done.
The hassle is the fact that you have to connect your desktop to the iPad.
However from the feedback so far you can get the midi files from GB out
into whatever app needs it and that's way before iOS 18.
@yellow_eyez saying that I've just remembered I actually have GB on my iPad.
I haven't opened it up in years.
Let me see how straightforward it is to grab the midi file.
@yellow_eyez
Dude, run a cable.
I've just had a look at the instructional video and got the jist of recording a fragment of audio on to an audio track
and then copying both the drummer track part and the audio part and then creating a new song file
and then pasting what was copied in to the new song or something along those lines.
That's way to many hoops just to get a drum groove.
Either use samples or something like the drum apps mentioned earlier or a midi cable.
That whole process is a creative killer for sure.
There are challenges in life that we may like however don't make that one of them.
Probably could be done over Bluetooth MIDI too.
@Gravitas
Don’t worry man. I tried it and it’s just cumbersome. lol
I think when I have to use metal drums/oneshot for live guitars, ill just use my studio PC
When i want to use my ko2, ill use my studio PC (logic)
When I do any other genre or AU stuff (meaning no live guitars or vocals) ill use my iPad and op1f
In fact i dont see why i even tried to use my iPad anymore for metal , i am happy one shot came out, but idk, not getting much further than before so i might as well rethink things
I think its time to admit when things haven’t worked: and i think that time is finally now
I no longer want any software or hardware, im looking to downsize everything i possibly can (got rid of my Roland S1 and my OP-Z, trying to sell my KO2 and volca drum too….just gonna keep the op1f for now)
Keeping my Mac mini, my studio (interface+monitors), my mini lab 3 and my op1f
Selling my ko2 and Korg volca drum for sure
(Possibly selling my iPad now that I see no point in continuously trying - $300 from Apple isn’t bad, but its as a gift card i think, and i dont need $300 in apple gift cards if im not buying any products)

Good choice of word.
I reached expletives in 0.005 secs.
Good move.
Remember there are tons of sites with free midi drum files.
You can use it for Metal for sure..
Straight talk, from your tone you've hit a slump.
We all do so read what I write in context of that.
You're not giving up, you're having a creative holiday.
It could be a day, a week, a month, a year, a decade.
It's a holiday.
You need to feed yourself good creative food.
I've dm'd you.
That's more than enough to smash out some tunes.
Getting things out of GB has always been clunky. If you have LP then there are probably easier ways.
Having said that, I timed it now and it took 30 seconds to go from Drummer configured to having the midi on a track. Then another 30 sec to record it into MIDI Tape Recorder.
(The project switching done in the video is not necessary).
Thank (insert expletive) there's a quicker way.
Can you do a screen recording showing how you do it for everyone else please?
Maybe a screen shot of initial setup will do.
Some details turn out to actually be important here, otherwise it won’t work (clunky af), but you get used to it. At least on my iOS 17 this is needed:
@bleep
Awesome.
Thank you.
@bleep
I've tried it your way and yes it's clunky af however it's not as bad as creating
another song and then doing the whole copy and pasting thing.
It's actually okay for when one is doing prep for track wiritng and
I've experienced far more clunky things on the iOS platform.
Once again thank you.
No worries. Yeah, it’s not too bad. Doing prep is indeed the key, and in that mode it is ok. A final tip would be to have the above saved as a template, but then always start by duplicating this song in Gb and work with the copy. Otherwise autosave will mess with your initial setup.
Did you mention you are a drummer? Would love to hear if you find the Drummer “follow” feature any good. That guy had another video about it. In one track, manually record or program your own drums loop. Then add a Drummer track and set it to “follow” your track. It should pick up your style, and then you can adjust complexity slider etc. Perhaps you would find it useful in a prepping stage.
(You would have thought that the two piano tracks could be part of the initial template setup, but I never got the copy-pasting to work that way)
Thanks for all your help
I actually have no success with”follow”either.
Not sure what I’ve done work but it doesn’t adjust to the track …. If you have a links or references anyone ! Thanks
+1 Thanks, @bleep! I'm not (bleep)ing with it, but I always appreciate it when others share their knowledge and try to help out.
If you search for -- garageband drummer follow feature -- you ought to get some good results. 🤞
Cheering you on! 🏁
Here is that custom Drummer using the follow feature I was referring to. Quite nice approach.
Yup.
I really don't like the GB drummers, I find them unmusical.
As mentioned I opened up GB for the first time in about in year so last night to test the midi thing.
I either use drum loops or I sequence the drums myself and for the most part the latter.
For me the best solution is buying a library of midi drum grooves, using Helium to browse and audition, then Oneshot as the sound provider.
Here’s some free midi grooves - https://www.jjdoge.com/groove-packs/
I been eyeing this one for a bit - https://www.prosonic-studios.com/midi-drum-beats
Helium still doesn’t preview the file for me
Idk why
What DAW are you using ? It will not preview while the DAW is playing. Tested in Audiobus and Cubasis.
You have two possible work flow. You just audition drum beat without the music playing and pick.
Or what I do is I drop the beat in Helium while the daw is playing and if I don’t like it i press undo at the bottom of Helium.
