Cubasis and AUM….
I’ll give it another shot but nothing is auditioning …
Lately I have been using AUM so I can use Lumbeat apps
I think Lumbeat apps are the absolute best for randomized filled but structured/arranged patterns and drum work. For Arabic music nothing else out there like it and for rock/metal it might be the best option out there, Specifically progressive drummer Mike
Rock Drum machine in my opinion is still better than Logic drummer for rock and def for metal ….i find the fills better, the rhythms more varied, the drummers more realistic sounding , and the custom ability is a lot more than apple drummer. Also - for metal - the IAP drummer “Mike” makes a huge difference. His groove with playing the patterns, his fill style, his general sound, is totally different than the standard drummer. His double kicks are incredible, his syncopated fills prog ready, and it’s honestly exactly what I was looking for in a rhythm machine or rock drum machine . Mike is the closest thing to having a real drummer play with me , best metal jam I had in a long time
In other words, for Rock and metal drums, I prefer using Rock Drum machine over logic, and for metal it really is no comparison, Mike is the best “metal drummer” available on iOS , or probably any platform as I don’t think anything else exists like Lumbeat Rock DM on Mac or iOS ,( the closest thing to Lumbeat would be Rayzoon Jamstix for windows….but that’s a lot more expensive and not for Mac or iPad )
Anyway my perfect combo for jams or not worrying about the drums : AUM - Lumbeat Rock DM > midi routed > one shot!
(Is there any other way to send MIDI from rock DM to one shot! Like in Cubasis or otherwise ?)
It will only preview from the Clips list, not the Song list - could that be it? It previews clips for me in AUM. The following screen shows the MIDI out in takeaMIDI and I hear it in bs-16i. The Helium tracks are all empty, and it plays with Host Sync on or off.
Here’s a pic with extra details for those who may not be aware or have not used the feature:
