For few simple notes, MTS can handle ok, but with many synths' arppegiator to test on, MTS immediately shows its problem on a single track. This (stuck notes) is serious for any core midi or IAA synths recording!

Have you tested the synths arpeggios with AB in MTS?

The problem is there in both IAA and midi environment! It has nothing to do with AB! I think this scrubbed notes problem is pretty hard to fix from MTS developer! He is a very skillful and has a very positive attitude and feedback for soving the problem at the moment! We have few email contacts to talk things. I hope this will be address at future update soon! What I encountered is definately new for Auria and Cubasis current users! Since it is not a MTS problem! It is every single synth app on ios device IAA and midi problems! Depends how each synth app react to IAA and midi! I hope I clarify enough here it is not MTS's only problem!

From my understanding, MTS is topping out Cubasis and Auria in many ways as of today! So, If this is not FabFilters, MTS going to be almost many apects a winner!

In any case the ipad can't yet handle the intensive CPU load it takes to run a lot of synths and effects in midi without problems, so my solution is to print to audio when one midi track is complete. Then work on the next.

agree! but I am here to deal with one track problem. Nothing to do with many tracks on!

    @Kaikoo
I have had the same happen with only some synths, only some times...which probably makes it a hard bug to squish, the case-by-case nature of the problem...

  • Guys does this app do timestreching?
So if say I have Session band guitar loop that I would like to speed up with out losing sound quality, can it be done here?
I know session band apps let you change tempo but the quality degrades fast. Any idea?

The pro upgrade has it, yes: http://www.multitrackstudio.com/ipad_extensionpack.php. I have no direct experience with it; maybe someone else on the forum has used it.

Yes it does. I've used it to stretch stuff ranging from guitar, to drum, to ambient loops - sounds good enough to me.

EDIT: as thus said above, you'll need the Pro Extension.

  • Any chances there maybe a special coming up on this app?
I already have Cubasis and Auria...can't decide if I'm overdoing it. Right now, I've been using Cubasis the most after the upgrade. But I don't think it does time stretching.
But at full price I wonder...

Me too, I have C and A DAWs. I don't believe MTS is that good too! But after jump in with Pro Extention. I must say: Nice! No Regret! Just bought it 3 days around, I know half the stuffs! Those drawing and pulling and inserting things are excellent!

The Hokusai app does time stretching. It's cheaper than a DAW.

  • I tried the demo and heard the timestretch demo and it was no joy.

  • Does this app ever go on sale?

Hokusai has a high quality setting as well. I've had no problem with it.

  • I wonder if it had that in the demo

  • i don't remember. Try downloading it again. I mostly using it for transposing and it does a great job.

  • @Musicman4Christ Did you try the time stretching in Auria?

  • Didn't know it had this feature. Thnks!

  • Know your weapon before you go heaven :)

  • Yeah, if you are using Auria there is no need to look elsewhere.

MTS has never gone on sale. http://appshopper.com/music/multitrackstudio-for-ipad

That being said, I think it's fairly priced relative to the competition and the features it has. I'm considering dropping $30 on Korg iM1, and that's just a (really good) synth. A quality DAW becomes a funnel through which all your projects are sent through. I bought it AFTER I bought Auria and I don't think Auria's been installed on my iPad for about a year now (since I prefer MTS). There's risk in any purchase, but a quality DAW seems like a safer investment to me than stockpiling instrument apps (though I'm guilty of the latter, also).

No, He intends to get Full-House! hehe, great option to add MTS.

  • This app is very appealing and well designed. Will consider!

EDIT: It's just occurred to me that pichi is referring exclusively to the time stretch thing!

Otherwise, there certainly are very nice and unique aspects to MTS. I need MIDI, so Auria is out of the question. But I've had Cubasis uninstalled a long time ago and never looked back.

I'm always surprised to discover my apps do stuff I need and was looking for elsewhere...

  • I found that different developer made different Daw's personalities. If one does not try a few, there is no way to really feel what is one's lovely Daw!

  • In case it hasn't been said recently, MultitrackStudio flies even on iPad 2/3/mini1. It is not crash-prone. This developer knows what he is doing.

  • Hi MTS users:

Good news! Developer Giel says following: "I’ve had the opportunity to try some of the synths you (Kaikoo) mentioned. It appears they don’t support the MIDI feature MultitrackStudio uses to stop pending notes when transport stops. I’ll improve that for both IAA and Virtual MIDI"

This is part of reasons I encountered! So great I got this email to clear out the confusions this thread I have written!

Great news Kaikoo; MTS will become even better for all of us! As you said, "different developer made different Daw's personalities", and I really like this one - the guy is very fast and good at what he does, and so is MTS for me. Over the months I have encountered a few issues - both mine and the app's - and all of them have been addressed very quickly.
