  • I’m glad my crappy dream didn’t come true!

  • Oh a synth. Ok.

  • I can delete all other synths now.

  • So I've been playing around with it for a short while and I think it's a fun, and, useful addition. Thank you!

Thank you for the free synth Christmas Elf!
(Free cuz i already been had Samurai)

  • Seriously, a synth, dam. What an app

  • Was a great premier video! This synth is cool af! Just 10 minutes with it so i made a quick lil sloppy crapy jam lol

I have Samurai, but not mixer, and have just updated to the latest version, but I can’t find the synth anywhere … where am I looking to find it?

Maybe I’m a bit slow today but is it supposed to be on this menu? If this isn’t the “More” menu referred to, where is it?

Here? Looks like something is wrong with this screen maybe … maybe that’s why I can’t find it. This is the standalone version.

    Got it now.

    Hit samples… then more!

    Bottom right

  • A simple synth is pretty sweet to be honest. Glad Marek added that for free for Samurai users.

Thanks … for some reason the MORE button was partly obscured when I tried it first time.

Love it. It’s so clean too.

He’s the man! I still think those web apps on his site have potential in app usage just waiting to happen.

Hilarious 🤣- we all got a bit too in the weeds. Glad it was just three days or two of it. Could have gotten out of hand

I'm guessing It's gonna be a synth, and you add it to pads the same way you add midi out. Synth's probably called Quokka...

Called it. Seemed obvious but it was way more fun to speculate wildly 😂

I think it's pretty cute actually. I can see myself using it to have something to pitch tune samples against, and also if i want to really keep it simple and only use Koala for a project.

Hats off to Marek for making it a free update to an already wonderful and valuable app. 💕

It seems like Marek is interested in utilities he can add that users can drag and drop in to pads. What's everyone's idea of useful things to drag and drop there?

Honestly the first thing that comes to mind is this would be a great method of adding auv3s in. But also it could be great for more performance based fun things like a utility that while it's pressed would reroute pads to different mix buses, that ability would give us some very simple automation options...

    Good ideas on the utility’s.

Legit want each of the web apps on koala natively.

I found the site directory I had saved a while back, took a minute to find, glad I'm not going completely crazy. 🤪

Would be cool to see these native in Koala!

  • Congratulations @elf_audio you knocked it out off the park again. It’s so well designed it feels as if it was always there. The best thing about it is that you never sacrificed Koala’s core design principles. A ton of usefulness and functionality without clutter or distraction.

You have to drag it onto the pads like the midi.

Great track. Finally this synth integration seems to be much more useful than I initially guessed.

    I should’ve just watched the video…😝

@reasOne I'm late to this thread but I saw you say "Allowing you to set a bar/loop length with overdub for sampling in or resample would also be my most wanted feature. Similar to how the 404mk2 works."

does the mk2 allow you to overdub when sampling and resampling? I just got one a couple months ago and am still finding my way around it but I thought overdubbing was only when using the "looper" feature. Would love to find out I'm wrong because that would be RAD

  • Very generous addition, thanks @elf_audio.

  • This synth is quite cool!
It's surprisingly powerful with a wisely chosen minimal set of controls.
    Well done @elf_audio 😊

It is isn’t it. My only initial criticism - one that applies to Koala generally - is that there’s no way (i can find anyway) to have the onscreen keyboard and the synth parameters on the screen at the same time so you’re limited to the one note preview on the Sequence screen when designing sounds (or have to have a sequence running with a range of notes). This isn’t ideal @elf_audio and could maybe do with some thought going forward?

Why not use a little sequence to preview while editing? I find this more convenient anyway.

If I might ask @elf_audio for one little addition then it would be a Key Sync button in the LFO.
That would make it a second envelope for modulation, currently the only thing I'm missing 😉
