    Ok.. -10 days to go…

You could be setting yourself up for a disappointment. It says "expected" Feb 1. It's software. It's probably not polished up, bug free, and just waiting for him to push the button. He's probably working feverishly to get it ready, but one never knows for sure with software. Just sayin'.

Different stages of the process. Currently, the 10 to 1 days remaining inspires hope and joy as we count down toward the expected realease day. It's a celebration of optimism and what may be around the corner for the OS musicians community. Heightened excitement is typical as the release gets closer.

On the expected release day we will be cast into a timeless realm of unknown possibilities. In the place all and any emotional responses are predicted and ok. While it's not necessarily a happy place it is one where we all come together to share the experience of WTF is going on and why is this happening, does anyone have it yet.

Meanwhile, I'm using Cubasis as my current "holy grail" app for starting and finishing projects. Even did and doing client work in it. Fun process.

Hoping GR-II will bring something different to the table. Judging by what I've seen thus far, it'll definitely be fun for producing Ambient in if not a bit of a fun challenge.

do you have any video on how you use it?

Wouldn't it be interesting if this was the holy grail of apps and we all started producing completed works of art.

Honestly, despite my joke, I’m in this camp

Do you mean will it come with drum samples ready to use? Yeah sure, even GR-16 comes with samples, and usually the IAPs are more sounds to use, and you can of course use your own.

You have to already own poison and pure acid to use them inside of GR2, but they will load not as AUv3 but like a direct implementation, similar to Korg Gadget.

This is just based on information already available, I don't have any special access to the new app sadly

    I'd say both:

    Religion

    • the belief in and worship of a superhuman power or powers, especially a God or gods.
    • a particular system of faith and worship.
    • a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion.

I’ll probably purchase this app, I’m just struggling to decide to pick up another iOS host without really understanding what makes it different than the others.
I hope we get jim to drop some more videos pre release.

it's (should be) a very efficient groovebox

The sampler and resampling workflows look to be more efficient and straightforward in GR2 than setting up Drambo’s audio sampling modules.

That was one of the few things I didn’t really take to with Drambo, so I usually loaded Koala, or loopy pro plugins for sample work.
It’ll be so nice to have Koala’s ease of sampling, but in a far more full featured Groovebox daw like GR2 looks to be.

  • Just realized there's a built-in SF2 player:

Do you guys know any websites with good free instruments?

  • I wonder if this will have Launchpad plug and play support...

"Use 16 x 16 clip launch grid and Ableton Link feature to synchronize GR-2 with your other music apps and gear. Connect your midi controllers to control GR-2 parameters via midi. "
