I have an iPad Pro M1 with 16Gb ram and I really want to use those powers but in AUM it takes stop pretty fast (yes, I do load a lot of stuff😅😅) compared to what I can load in e.g Logic for iPad. Well, I can only hope then; that the next update will focus on the engine.

Great, now you sparked my curiosity. 🫣 What does your project look like?

Oh it's not project but projects (usually drony, glitchy stuff), plenty of them where I get to a point where it starts to crackle I get so disappointed or even mad I just shut it down.
Most of the time it's solvable by going up to 2048 buffer but forget about any live input then.
Now my friend: this doesn't mean that any single one of those projects was worth listening to or keep working on, but I would have liked to get the chance to do so.😇😃

Oh, I’m dancing on my device limits all the time, 🤭 using every trick that I can to minimize CPU usage. Live performance input can be tricky, I admit, you can’t just bounce things there. BTW, your music is fantastic to me, 🤩 especially fractal-related.

Thank you, I appreciate that! Yeah it certainly is and that's not just in AUM, it's just that it happens way faster there.

Btw: I totally didn't get what the clock thing was all about, now I do. So awesome!⏰

What is clock thing all about? AUM can finally be slave to external clock?

  • @soundtemple said:
Show & front - does that just:

    • open (if closed) and bring front or
    • just bring to the front if already open instead of hiding?

So, with one click you can always bring a plugin to front instead of having to toggle?

It opens it if closed, and brings it to front (always). So now there are two separate MIDI actions, one to "show & front plugin" and "show/hide plugin" which toggles it.

No, you can run midi au at different speeds than host tempo. It's like in modular where you can run sequencers with faster or slower timings. Absolutely awesome feature.

This is amazing update. Been using for a bit.

Thanks, yeah will need to see some tutorials of this feature to understand it's potential.

  • Because of its overwhelming importance to my work, this is one of the very few apps for which I leave tips. After this free update to an already indispensable tool, I’m most certainly doing so again.

Where is this gear icon for clock control? I’ve looked everywhere I can think of.

great update except this - Enable Apples system-provided Audio Units on iOS 13 or later. I spend a lot of time sorting apps and plugins to get what I want, what if I don't want to use, or see, these?

No wonder it’s literally impossible for developers to please everyone with updates.

Here’s your gear icon, right where the MIDI control options are for your AUV3.

Indeed :) One suggestion by one of my beta testers was to make the company sections collapsible when in "Company" sort mode, similar to the new Navigator. Will look into that in the future.

Also, note that in "Last Used" sort mode, the Apple AUs will be at the bottom if you never use them ;)

  • Huge update, super small size. It was worth the wait.

  • @j_liljedahl great app now made greater and easier to navigate. Thank you.

PS there's a TIP JAR in the hamburger menu... just sayin

    I gave $5 (4.99 lol)

It shows your most used first so this is a non issue

  • Huge update, i was trying to crash D1 to test the node reload but got to 5 instances without crashing… weird

So, this version is more CPU intensive? Worse for older iPads?

Where did you get that information? It’s the same as it was, at least in my testings.

Wasn't Pxlhg's message and pic all about the DSP maxxing out? Maybe I read it wrong...

I think it was about AUM in general, not specifically the current update. Multi-threading being asked for.

  • Thanks for the update @j_liljedahl and continuing to make AUM…AUMazing! Haha i know I’m cheesy

+1 The clock divider is really useful ... have been using it
    in beta with:

    • Hilda - can create rally fast chiptune type sequences which are not possible with the inbuilt Hilda sequencer clock options
    • SB Drum Computer... to e.g. double or half the clock speed requires each sequencer lane to be changed individually but with the AUM clock divider, it's now so much easier

    Nope.

Tried rebooting my iPad, started a new AUM session. No gear icon in the midi controls no matter what I do. I have the navigator so AUM is up to date.

Maybe I’m just an idiot ? Is it a bug ? iOS 17.4.1 M1 iPad Pro.

You have to open it from the app and not from the “hamburger menu”

  • I think the new Navigator system is a good start. To me, it would be useful if when using it, we could select channels to hide and/or group on the main view.

It IS an improvement on the bookmark feature, and a welcome one!

The navigator is sure a smart way to get the job done without the extensive UI overhaul needed for other solutions tossed around over the years (including my own).

    OK, thanks for that.

Good to hear there are no problems with older iPads.
