  • Y’all have me nervous getting OB-XD 3. What were the issues going on that haven’t been resolved?

I got Volt synth not too long ago and like it, so I’m curious what better options are on offer these days.

  • Really want both Wurly and SX1000 but can only get one…? For some reason SX1000 only shows up if you search it directly, not sure why. Any thoughts of making this choice?

Also how much crossover between Electric Vintage by apesoft and Wurly by Audiothing?

I remember the initial unhappiness (but not the details) and threw caution to the wind to buy their Nord emulation this evening. Very happy with it so far but havent really done much but twist the fm and cutoff knobs and marvel at the general sound of it

Edit — it is a huge drain on battery in stand alone mode though

Mix knob for gate seems to be programmed in reverse too 🤔

Very little crossover between Wurly and Electric Vintage. I have spoken vids on all 3 apps you mention btw!

Wurly is AMAZING and if you can only get one it should be that…although I love SX1000 and I get a lot of use out of it

SX1000 has been on my radar too.. If you already have Electric Vintage, you could wait on Wurly and pick up SX1000.. if you don’t have Electric, Wurly is awesome.. Electric used to be my go-to any time I opened up AUM.. Now I seem to open Wurly instead.. no real reason.. just different sounds + interface.. I really like ‘em both.. I also want to check out Elpiano from Klevgrand.. but I’m scared because it might replace both Electric + Wurly as my go-to in AUM.. 😁 Honestly, I like all of them.. any one of them would work on any type of track.. Chances are you’ll end up with both Wurly + SX1000 eventually.. which would you like to play with first?

Just picked up hand clapper. Don’t know if I need it but it’s pretty cool.

Yay! bro, I love hand clapper. I throw hi hats into it. I use it all the time, pretty much every session. The samples included are excellent, especially under the import option. That Soviet clap is sick. You can also load up any one shots you have. It's my favorite audiothings apps. Super simple, budget friendly, exceptional samples, and the control is excellent.

I think a lot of people think it just has clap sounds. It has snares, rides, all kinds of stuff. Glad to see someone showing it some love. I highly recommend it.

    👏

I feel like Wurly and Vintage are different enough to own both, but SX1000 is awesome. I really love that lil Italian synth. It's got that Aggro quality, and the presets are pretty solid. If you wanna do more sound design, sx1000 for sure.

  • @Johnmayo
You inspired me to throw some cicadas, rattlesnakes, and birds into clap machine. Thanks!

    Thanks @Gavinski @Fear2Stop @royor @egobeats

Yea I’ve had Electric Vintage for a while. I feel like Wurly would be a go to app if I had it. I also think SX1000 would be a unique and new synth/sound experience… ahhh…decisions, decisions. I could do one this sale and one next sale…

    Thanks for the input.

Yup can load any sample. Has to be relatively short but fun to add different things.

Volt isn’t bad, I just have a plethora of Synths and haven’t reached for that one in a while. It’s also a lot of personal preference involved, based off what you like and what you make. one could love a sound that another dislikes, ya know.

I don’t have the new OB but I love the original version and use it a lot. I’m pretty sure the new one is quite similar just with a redesigned UI and a few other features, plus it’s iPad only. I don’t do much sound design with OB1 but there is an abundance of patches. I like the “warm” sound of the OBXD.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I briefly tested the desktop version, which completely trashed my patch organization, so I deleted it and reinstalled the original OB-Xd and my hundreds and hundreds of additional patches I had collected for it. I gave up on the new one very quickly and I'm still very happy with the older version.

Very punk rock of them to name such a pretty app after such a dirty word.

  • subscription has a lil data entry window where you can input the web color code and the SUBscription UI changes. I personally like it RED or GREEN

I must not be awake yet: how the heck do you import presets in sub synth?!
Edit: scratch that, had another cuppa and found it with some menu digging

@Squishy you can use the names in the format here:

    https://htmlcolorcodes.com/color-names/

I thought u could use the hex #, but the color name works perfectly. Looks cool blvck

Obviously each color has its own unique sound. So it's fun trying them all. Like "greenyellow" is ugly AF, but sounds great. It really blows my mind that they only charge .99 cents for it.

King key is another that blows my mind is free. It's fantastic for Industrial music.

@CaelumAudio Thank You, you guys are much appreciated, and super fun!

Ooo neato! TEAL makes it look like an art cutting board 😂😂

  • Yeah, I was surprised how nice one of the browns looked. For those that don't have the Schlapp Smoov bundle- they are great mastering apps for 3 bucks each. Might even be less with the bundle.

  • Awesome. Toyphonic Micraliser is Free until July 21st! Another International Joke Day Gift from @CaelumAudio
