What does this even mean? IAP? You have to pay a weekly or yearly subscription to even use it now or what?
$2.99/week - who in their right mind would pay for this? You could get a month subscription to Logic for less money. The new owners must be on crack.
Don't forget it now also features... "Data Used to Track You".
I already own this thing and it’s come in handy in some projects… I am holding off in updating but I’m sure one day a compatibility issue will force it.
Well shit, I didn’t vet my updates. Time to uninstall. A real shame. Pretty sure I paid for some of those apps too, that they’re now corrupting.
I wish the original developers had just held onto these apps and released a paid expansion, or raised the price or something. I understand that iOS apps are too cheap, and the music space is too small to make the effort worthwhile for a lot of developers. But selling things off to these investment vultures just hurts the entire space so much.
It’s especially wild because AudioKit has made so much fantastic stuff for iOS. I worry that all of these great apps are slowly going to be sold off and ruined. I’m going to be legitimately bummed out if NerdSynth gets this treatment some day.
Changes to the AudioBus app:
Something for the weekend from 4Pockets:
Sale ends Monday 27th January.
Briiks app is now completely free. In app purchase removed. Surprised i don’t see it mentioned more. Really interesting app; same developer as Dawnbeat.
https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/briiks/id6478665135
That’s good news, where did you find it? I can’t see any mention of it on the App Store although I see an update was released 2 hours ago
Weird, still see the IAP on the App Store.
True but it’s nowhere to be found inside the app now.
What’s also weird, well, not really weird, but interesting I’d say, is that if you own Dawnbeat, the Briiks app, in its entirety, is included within Dawnbeat. It’s built in, and part of Dawnbeat.
Still has trackers. So lame. It’s also still in their other apps.
Yeah, that was always the case regarding its inclusion within Dawnbeat. But now you can have it for free as an AU as well via the separate app.
Partly because it’s also included in Dawnbeat which is not talked about enough. It’s pretty awesome.
Briiks is kind of cool but it’s only letting me load one audio file into the pool. Is this is a limitation of the “free” version that’s still showing an IAP on the App Store ?
I think Nerd Synth should be safe. Need Synth is owned by Audiokit Pro, which is the original Audiokit company. Many of the side projects released under the Audiokit name, like the 808 and retro piano, were never actually owned or managed by Audiokit Pro. Those apps just used Audiokit framework, and might have had some partnership allowing them to use the name. At least that’s my understanding of the situation.
Strange, working okay here. Maybe the latest update (which removes the iap) is being rolled out gradually in different territories?
As far as i understand it, the ‘In app purchases’ part of the AppStore listing seems to display legacy in app purchases even though they are no longer active within the app. There’s no iap within the app itself.
Check to see if the latest update is 1.1 on the AppStore.
Absolutely.
This is Apple App Store weirdness, no longer available IAPs continue to show forever, for example see Syntronik.
