Apologies if this has already been mentioned back when it happened in December? I’ve only just discovered it happened, maybe others are unaware of it?

Not a sale as such, but the Callipeg animation app has dropped its subscription model and gone to a one off purchase of $14.99.

    https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/callipeg/id1456172656

I don’t recall, no need to apologize. Worse case scenario it’s a reminder. Cheers!

    More 4P Sales

Progressions is $4 off at $8.99
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/progressions/id1634378516

Is this worth getting if I'm holding on for the Scaler 3 release on iOS?

It’s hard to say really since S3 hasn’t dropped yet. I haven’t watched any of the videos either.

I will say I like having both S2 and progressions for a couple reasons.

Progressions works on my iPhone, scaler doesn’t.
Progressions has some interesting/unique randomization features.
Progressions can be a bit quicker to get going but not as good as scaler for building up full songs with multiple patterns. IMO.

Personally, my main songwriting workflow is based around chords. So I like chord apps, and having options in that department is great for me. I start songs/jams from every angle imaginable, but my go to workflow is to start with Chords.

So if I need a tool to just quickly get started, without thinkering too much with it, Progressions would be a good fit?

Those are only "free" insofar as they give the user a free 2 week trial. After that, the full price IAP applies.

Was unaware but I have been a subscriber. Unbelievably capable app but obviously a niche app and will probably eventually die due to lack of sales and Toonsquid is probably more popular. My sub was $14.95 AUD and my “special” price is $20 AUD.

Yes, when i read about the change, i was struck by how little a discount existing subscribers were being given on the new lifetime purchase cost.

    New Release - Video

Filter Flow is new and currently free, will be $2.99 node based filter & effects for real time video

Hi, I am the author of Filter Flow. I found this forum as a referrer from App Store when trying to figure out where I was getting downloads from. I made the app free to try and get some downloads. We had 80 impressions on our App Store page and 25 downloads from this forum. When working on an app, it's difficult to get downloads especially organically. Just wanted to reply to the thread and say thank you!

I tried it, it’s pretty cool. Any plans to implement branching the node tree at all? (So that you could layer and otherwise make more complex FX)

Some way of controlling parameters while shooting would also be great as well - perhaps by selecting them within the relevant node?

(Welcome to the bear pit btw 😅)

You’re very welcome @algera Happy to have you in the forum.

I thought the modular concept applied to photos was an interesting approach. Would love to see some more filters that create “crazy” results. Things like mirror image from different angles, maybe 2nd image overlay, or glitchy type fx could all be cool. Some of the photo apps I enjoy the most can make images more trippy, or warped, or patterned, etc… just a thought.

    Congratulations on the release!

Update: forgot this is a video app not photo.😆 😬

Having the minimum iOS as 17.6 will limit how many people can run the app.

Some of the established iOS music app developers release many of their products with the limit being lower (even as low as iOS 12). I'm thinking of devs like Audio Thing, 4Pockets, Bram Bos, AudioDamage, Korg etc...

Downloaded and played with for a few minutes. Pretty cool! I can tell I’m going to have a lot of fun with this. I’ve got a few questions but I don’t want to hijack the thread. Here’s a link to their site… no faq or manual yet but you can email them questions: https://filterflow.app/

Users with iPadsOS version older than iPadOS17 are now in the minority...
    https://9to5mac.com/2025/01/24/apple-reveals-ios-18-adoption-data-for-the-first-time/

I don't see this as a 'problem', update the device if/when it supports a newer version and get in touch with the developers who have not yet updated their apps, it's the only way forward as supporting multiple iPadOS versions is a real pita for developers...

iPadOS19 will be out later this year anyway :sunglasses:
