I’m enjoying using this and looking forward to a couple of fixes:
1) As someone else mentioned, midi out does not seem to work.
2) The arpeggiators for the bass and lead instruments don’t seem to work (yet).
Also, anyone know to access the choke groups?
Yeh I think this is a good base for starters with a great set of sounds. We just need some more granularity in the drum programming/sequencing. Things like settings for ratchet, probability and some other bits. I have a memory of seeing the dev posting about some extras coming , including probability, but for the life of me I can’t find the thread.
From the app store description:
We are already working on the next DM10 update with new features:
-Steps randomization
-Steps Probability and Mutation
-Midi import

Awesome!
Yes. It works in AUM as an instrument but when loaded in a MIDI slot it does not send MIDI out.
In standalone mode, the SONG PAGE has a MIDI button and you can assign MIDI IN and OUT targets.
It would be nice to see MIDI FX to be working as expected in an update.
I have been trying this app out, it seems good to me, although I cant figure out how it records inside of a DAW. I am using it inside of Cubasis 3, add it as a AUV instrument, arm the track to record, hit record and nothing happens. Am i missing something simple ?
Just had a little play with it in Cubasis then and admittedly I hadn't thought about this. Seeing as it’s an instrument and not a midi effect I don’t believe it will be able to print midi and of course it can’t render audio to the midi track it’s placed on. However it does render when doing a mix down. There may be a way to route the audio to an audio track although I’m not sure Cubasis has that ability. Someone above my pay grade may be able to answer this 😜
Hmm, it’s a head scratcher, hopefully this is a fix that comes down the line
@wellsley what notes are you recording to trigger dm10? It looks like the notes that trigger it start at C-1
Is the reason I can’t find the swing settings because there are none? Pretty sure I’ve pressed everything.
Well, so I load it inside Cubasis 3, get a pattern going, and it plays using the host, to be honest that's as far as i have got. I just assumed that when i hit the Cubasis 3 record button, that it would record the DM 10 pattern
Swing slider is at the top of the Song page
Basically it starts at C-1 and loops the mapping from there every 9 notes so you get a kick on C-1, C1, C4, C7. Whatever note you play will be mapped to a pad... as there are 9 pads it takes three octaves before the mapping starts on a kick again. (36 notes = 3 octaves = 9 x 4 lots of pads mapped).
You know when you’re looking for something in the fridge for ten minutes, then the wife walks past and points straight at it? Thanks, mate👍
The easiest (and best IMVHO) way to use any drum machine app as an auv3 is to use the DAWs MIDI sequencer to sequence it.
You get more control and most importability for me at least, you see the regions in the timeline. I don't want invisible sequences going on when I'm arranging. If I want to duplicate the chorus pattern I want to drag and drop it. not go into multiple apps and programme changes when I move things around...
I never use internal sequencers when I'm using a DAW (other than some Arps, but that's different as the actual notes are still in regions in the arrange view, you're still seeing what you actually played and the Arps move with the regions).
Long press the grey rectangular-ish shapes at the bottom of a track on the Mixer Page (just above the step sequencer/below the Solo button.
Yes, I did that, but it doesn’t show me what is choking it. Does that make sense?
Oh. I think there’s only one choke.
Hmm, ok. I press choke on both open and closed high hats, and it works. Also works with the cymbal and everything else. Any part can choke another. Cool.
I wonder why there is no content on youtube after release?!
Will there be a manual or instructional videos?
Does anyone know if it plays nicely with non 4/4? Like 3/4, 6/8 feels which I use a lot? Also whether it has 8th note swing as well as the usual 16th note? I'm a bit over buying drum/sequencer apps and then discovering I can't do those things easily or at all.
I’ve found a few “bugs” or user error.
The randomiser (the tornado symbol) seems to do nothing. The screen flashes and the higher the strength slider the stronger is the screen flash. Also disappointing that the randomise concept can only be applied to drum tracks and not the bass or synth.
The arpeggio in the synth settings seems to have no effect whether on or off.
This is in standalone mode.
You needs Steps in a pattern before the randomiser takes effect.
You need to ensure the arp is switched on (‘Arpeggio’ lit up) and the pattern to be playing for the arp to work.
So. Old. School.

Got to say that this has impressed more so far, more than I thought it would.
Already had both of those. Screen just flashes when press randomise and arp makes no difference.
