I’ve had a weird little project involving Musikraken, a DualShock 4, and two iPads.
Musikraken is running on an iPad mini 5. It’s used for mapping midi to the DualShock. Then I connect to the iPad running Loopy Pro with a template laid out like the gamepad.
A niche setup indeed and WIP but I might post a few details on it for kicks
@espiegel123 is sharing some interesting and useful tips on adding controls for Lumbeats Drummers in Loopy Pro
on this thread:
https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/64685/how-to-drive-soft-drummer#latest
Perhaps more important on that front:
https://patchstorage.com/lumbeat-buddy/
I loaded your Preset into Loopy Pro so that it is a AUv3 host and can see your Buddy window but it seems to need an extra step to control the installed “Funk Drummer” you configured. Then I hit the “Infomation” icon and see this:
Does Loopy Pro have an “AUv3 output” when acting as a host? I opened the Funk Drummer MIDI config page and
tried selecting Loopy as the MIDI IN source. The X-Y control does seem to change Funk Drummer but the 2 Togggle
control does NOY seem to work.
Any clues appreciated. This is a great PRESET for my needs and managing a LumBeats Drummer is something I’ve always
wished for.

@McD load Loopy as an AU inside Loopy and load the template into that. Then you can use it inside another project. Otherwise route the MIDI in the mixer (I don't have Lumbeat or I'd try it).
Why doesn’t the patchstorage Preset have the proper connections already? Is it just a means to get the Preset saved for use later as you suggest: Loopy inside Loopy or with properly routed MIDI in the Mixer. I’m going to study up on how to route MIDI in the mixer. Thanks.
Is this right?
I set up 8 Live Pads and that works from the Buddy window… nice. I will re-install the Preset and see if setting up Live Pads works or not without this setting.
UPDATE: Since Funk Drummer is an IAA it was still holding my Live Pads choices and the Buddy (which needs to be resized to expose all the controls by the way) can change Live Pads. Nice. No extra requirements to activate that feature.
The patchstorage project is all connected and ready to go. The AUv3's midi out is already set up to send to Funk Drummer's virtual midi port. The instructions are a reminder in case you load the AUv3 in another project.
If you want to use a different drummer, load that drummer in the project and make its virtual midi input the destination of the AU's MIDI.
@McD : the midi channel is already set to 10 in the AU's widgets that send the midi. You don't need to re-set the destination unless you want to send to a different MIDI channel.
Thanks. It’s a great Preset for learning sophisticated Loopy Pro MIDI concepts.
