Let me know how you get on I'll probably buy a copy later today. Don't expect to be running it through Turnado in an AB chain but hope my iPad 2 will cope with it in standalone.
I haven't bought an app in about 2 months so had a perfect excuse! I wish bass machine was a little more quick at writing patterns, there's a lot tapping going on. I also did not yet get the chance to appreciate (or understand) the slicer fully. I'll need to move some of my samplr samples over me thinks.
Edit: no regrets so far. And it syncs with loopy as expected.
Just loaded one of my own samples into the slicer. Pressed random....wooohooooo!
I think I spoke too soon about the sync smoothness. It thought I had it working but it was just a couple sec test. I've just tried to slave it and this thing egoistically refused to obey. This sucks a little. I wonder if this is the case with other hosts?
Too bad about the sync issue. Since Sector won't sync now with Loopy and Samplr won't do Audiobus, I was hoping this one might be the hero.
@supadom I can't test with Loopy. Send SB some info on what's going on with Loopy/Egoist and the sync, and I'm sure they'll fix it ASAP (if possible). Also check with mickael so it's not a Loopy issue.
I tried syncing it to Loopy HD earlier and worked well once i enabled external and clock start but it won't work as master sending to Loopy HD.
Anyone got it running on ipad2 under os 7 yet ?
Looks like a lot of fun & I'm chomping at the bit but don't want to splurge on a clunker due to insufficient processing power !

I'm waiting to find out the same thing
@syrupcore (san?) Agreed about the import, busses and pitch but i was thinking step effects per channel as well, i find the effects good just on individual steps for for subtle modulations but yeah sends to route individual effects would be good.. Also drum channel randomisation rather than the whole track and the same pattern switching for bass that the drums have.
Also would like to be able to play the sequencer when it's in slice key mode, record those triggers would be even better but i know it's not meant for that.
Overall though a great app, i primarily bought to import loops from Alchemy but it's a really good sounding groovebox. To get around the track limit i plan to use Loopy HD and layer tracks with that.
I've got Egoist synced to Loopy HD in AB, no problems here. ios8.1.1. Will upload a Quneo template later.
Having each module "bused" into chosen effects, as opposed to all 7 effects at once, was in the works last I heard. But I have no idea if that's still is something that's gonna happen or not, only briefly brought it up once, a while ago now, with the SB peeps.
Here's Johns, at MusicAppBlog, take on Egoist (he reviewed the PC version for Sound On Sound as well) http://www.musicappblog.com/egoist-review/
Has anyone added their own samples via AudioPaste successfully? I'm not a fan of iTunes so this would be the only way I'd be able to get my own sounds in.

yeah, works fine for me.
Works perfectly and easily. Almost part of the most fun of this fun beast is taking pieces and slices you made ages ago and never took any further and suddenly really 'hearing' them or hearing them reinvented in a way that makes you feel much cleverer in the first place (and this, after all, is one of the primary functions of machines .

Good to know ChrisG! Kinda makes sense, don't want all the effects on the bass!
No luck adding samples via iFunbox, for slicer or drums, however.

That and copying audio from other apps integrate and adding beats and bass, i'm looking at you Impaktor!

Great, thanks for the confirmation.
I'm on an iPad 2- ios 7 and all works well.
I've imported my own loops via itunes and audiocopy/ paste with no probs.
Midi start -stop and continue works well with Cubasis (midi clock switched on, obviously) and when i change Cubasis' tempo Egoist follows.
And i've recorded Egoist into Cubasis via Audiobus, again no pops, clicks or dropouts.
I haven't tried myself but I bet your ass you can't delete the built in samples. Can you? That would be super sickly! Of course it is not possible. Dammit!
Ha.. I've not tried. But you can fill up the itunes / audio paste folders with your own loops

Brilliant, that's what I needed to know - thank you!
Right then...
Brilliant app, fun concept, easy to learn. Reminds me of Recycle and Dr. Rex combi in Reason. Works well except for a few crashes running as IAA in Cubasis. The tempo sync floats a little, hope this can be fixed in an update?
Sugar Bytes, if you are reading along here, please let us import our own samples into the drum section, please..
Wow - I had everything running in Egoist, routed it through Turnado via AB straight into GarageBand without a glitch.
Apart from the fact it's a brilliant app, Sugar Bytes should be applauded for ensuring their products are still accessible for those of us with older devices.
I loaded a very long sample of my own (a lot of my other devices such as Sector wouldn't load it), mucked it up, randomised a bass and drum track and with a few tweaks I had a funky little tune going.
Love this app, the missus is out tonight so I'll be in app heaven for a few hours...
Thanks for the confirmations people. Looks like I'm going in & may be some time
some great features and a fun app,but the ui is a bit of a pita.
anyone else find the controls way to small? (am sure we already had a discussion with the other SB apps)
does/could slicer have full screen option?
luv SB apps but hope they come up with better, user friendly solutions, when porting.

I've only had a quick play but they didn't cause an issue when I tried it.
I'm sure there are lots of tweaks they could make to make it perfect, but for me the positives outweigh any negatives, and most importantly it's great fun to use.
Yes I agree. Some of the buttons are ridiculously small. It's not surprising since it is an exact PC port so made for clicking and not tapping. I wish SB made some UI changes but I presume they included midi learn for all of the controls and frankly I'd only mind this issue if I were to use it on stage. It is quite similar to wow which gets a bit fiddly in places.
@supadom again Stylus (stylii?) to the rescue! I bought them specifically for the sugarbytes stuff and they do make hitting those tiny controls much less of a pita. You can't map the random buttons or copy/paste etc, it's just the main controls. OT but one thing i'd like to see in Wow is an option to hide the xy and have the filter full screen...
