Oh, my dude, I’ve had the app, in fact, I’m on the beta and have been for probably for over a year.

I just thought there was some news or something, and sometimes people assume everyone is, or is still on Facebook.

I am curious though what it said on the post.

Thank you though bro, good looking out🤙

Outstanding update! The new integration with Ableton is awesome! Even works on Live 11 which is a bonus for me.. Love the surface control of Live from Prism.. having a Drum Rack populate the names of each instrument on the playing pads in Prism is fantastic.. no guessing what’s what..

Instructions were spot on + I was up + running in a matter of a few minutes.. turned on Ableton Link to sync timelines.. can’t wait to deep dive into this whole ecosystem..

Will definitely get around to trying out more of the new features.. Thanks for the new playground.. 😁

+1 for this. I had a go with Prism when it first came out and really enjoyed what it could do - every time I go on a long journey I resolve (and fail) to take another deep dive and really get to learn it inside out.

Just hooked it up painlessly to Ableton on my Mac via IDAM using the supplied script and off we go - great to have the elbow room to have all the instruments on another screen/device and to be able to do some simultaneous manual reading (or I will be doing that, so far more than happy just bumbling around making noise).

  • New to Prism, was one of a handful of lucky @sfm winners And it’s really good, I think the dev nailed his goals. It’s pretty versatile and one of the best sounding sequencers in my toolkit now. I absolutely hate the ui but can’t deny how great this sequencer is. Good stuff

I don't even hate the UI any more. At first I couldn't take all the hidden and difficult to find stuff, but somewhere along the line the developer'l logic started to gel in my head (which is mostly already filled with jelly anyway) and now I feel completely at home in it most times. Something about it fits my creative outlook better than even Drambo when I'm in a certain mood. It's also been very lightweight and rock stable since the last major update.

I really like how you can leverage a melody into chords, chords into a melody, chords into a bass line, a single bar drum pattern into many variations, drums into chord comping, etc. You can get a ton of mileage out of a few simple ideas.

I have to give the top slot to Drambo as a sequencer overall, but honestly, I've been preferring Prism all the time for almost a month now.

You have to be willing to put in some serious effort to get over the hump though.

Yeah, after 4 hours in, I keep going back to it- it's doing something none of my others do- very impressed. The red on black makes me feel schizophrenic or 14 years old.

What's the 6.99 IaP about. 4 sequencers and one tonal track?
Oh wait, there's lots of iap's. Bummer

I don't own any of the IAPs, the base sequencer does all I need and more.

I've been tempted by the LFOs IAP, but unlike most folks here, I rarely use external LFOs to automate apps.

I think the one you're asking about is the one that gives you four sub-sequences for each tonal track Heck, the day I run out of tracks with a 16 track sequencer is something I can't imagine short of maybe if my mind getting expanded by trippin on mushrooms.

btw, it's really fun to mess with this controlling Ableton Live over iDAM. The integration is great.

  • I'm really impressed with it. I was running midi StrummerFX, Santa Ana, and FontStack (guitar sf2's) and it just sounded so fantastic.

UI isn't bothering me so much anymore, after a good 10 hours of playing with it.

  • i didnt realize there are so many iaps in there

They're relatively recent extra features. The core features have been there from the beginning and are fine for most things.

ah, ok. totally understandable as the programmer needs to make some money for his work and this app is pretty niche, already

Completely blown away by this sequencer. I did not expect it to instantly become my favorite seq, I’ve even grown fond of the ui, as it makes sense with the sht packed into it. Really good sequencer.. so glad I got a chance to try it. You can do so much within it and it sounds exceptional.

    Thanks @sfm for the giveaway

  • Love seeing folks love Prism .. it’s truly an incredible sequencer that keeps getting better .. totally worth the time to poke around, play and learn ..

  • It’s by far the most usable sequencer on iPhone IMO.

  • I have bought Prism, but never dared to start.
Would love to learn how to use it, but time and effort is limited.

I circle between Sand, Drambo, Bam, Gadget, Grooverider 2, but haven’t (yet) felt at home at any of them…wont pay for Logic sub.

Could you please name top 3 (5) reasons why Prism is different and worth the effort?

I never intend to produce finished tracks on the iPad. Grooves, sounddesign, harmonies, stems.
Finishing on Mac or external samplers.

    Thanks

  • @128BPM I believe Leo @sfm is going to be posting more tutorials. He already has three showcasing the newest iteration. There's several getting started videos online, but the dev's first beat video on startup is pretty solid to get you going- I highly recommend learning it. I one sequencer is now doing what I was using 4 others to do, it's depth and performance are incredible. Really am shocked at how quick it completely hijacked my workflow and method. Now it's much faster, cleaner dsp usage and sounds so much better. It's very inspiring with one of the best generative chord arrangements I've seen in an iOS sequencer.

  • Playlist here:

    PRISM 2026

  • Thank you @egobeats and @sfm

You sell it well (the pros I mean)
I’ll watch the playlist this weekend.

  • Holy crap the docs are 120 pages long. That’s some great documentation!

  • I like the sequencer. I loathe the UI gradients.

And you will need to keep it handy.

  • @wim you going to grab the IAP now that they’re on sale? I’m thinking about it….

  • imo the iaps are well worth it if they relate to your tastes at all and you like the app, the developer has put quite a lot of labor and love into it over the past 2 years with really responsive and consistent updates/bug fixes. They're always willing to hear new ideas on discord/email and friendly to work with!

  • I scored the stepfx and seq updates - I don't know how to access the stepfx stuff though.

It's an amazing sequencer. It really blew me away with how good / clever it is. I fancied myself as a sequencer pro- but without prism in the mix, that is utter falsehood. prism is elite level sequencing on iOS imo. Soo good.

  • I would buy at least one of Prisms add ons, but when I actually find them (and I’ve only found one) it’s 6.99 and I can’t even purchase it because the button triggers but nothing nada zip happens… oh well
