@AnalogMatthew Great app. could the app remember octave range last played for any factory presets?

Thanks! And you're in luck: The app automatically saves the last keyboard octave position when you save a preset.

Hope that feature is working for you?

Didn’t expect to be able to save over a preset, but yes, it works thank you. What did you think about opening on Favorites as the mostly like thing people want to pick from?

Is there ONE person here who DIDN’T buy this for $4.99?

I didn't buy this, but maybe I will in the future, I don't know. I love eps but I have VTines for Rhodes and Pianoteq for piano. I don't enjoy the Yamaha CP Grands, that's not something I would use.

I do love the sound of a Wurlitzer ep. I haven't yet found a Wurlitzer app for iPad that I think is amazing. This one sounds a little odd to me, I'll have to check out more demos.

Audiothing wurli is actually really good!
    But not the presets unfortunately..
I took my time and achieved pretty nice results for each model, ill can record and share them if you'd like.

Also neosoul keys 2 is pretty good.

Please share your Wurli presets, that'd be great. I'm also not a big fan of its factory presets. I'm no expert on how a Wurli should sound, but I definitely like what I'm able to get from Wurly by tweaking from Init.

Apologies for the derailment, but Same @mervenca That would be super cool to have those patches. Maybe create a thread about it and share them, or dm them to me if you like. i like that app but need more patches.

Strongly considering RK, love a good keyboard sound.

  • Hi matt, my compliments for this work of art. It sounds so good.
I remember adjusting the pitch bend range and being impressed it sounded so good.
48 up and 48 down. But now in the iphone au I can not find where to adjust this.
Is it only in the stand alone version?
Could you please make it so it does not take that many taps to adjust?

I kind of love how unique that request is. In over 4+ million keyboard app downloads, I think you are the first person to suggest opening on Favorites. 😅 My general rule is that if I get the same request from 3 to 5 separate people, then I know I should seriously consider it.

The good news is, in the upcoming Pro-5 inspired app, this is built into an expression panel, so you can quickly drag those values.

And for the apps where I’m planning to add MPE, I definitely want to go back and make this whole experience better too.

    Thanks again for your patience

Any ETA on Pro-5? Summer? Fall?

June is looking more and more realistic.

Some of you know I started this 2.5 years ago. The original hardware looks deceptively simple at first, but it is much deeper than it seems.

I really think this one is going to win over even some of the toughest critics and set a new bar for hardware emulation from AudioKit.

Some Devs/Apps don’t provide a ‘Favorites’ feature, which I think should be a criminal offence (joke).

For those that do, I thought everyone would run through the presets and favorite all the patches that inspire or you think you’d use at some point.

I’d love to know if that’s what people do, now you’ve got me thinking it’s just me and my OCD coming out. How else do people make sure the iPad and iPhone patches are in sync?

Don’t know about others but even in the ‘User’ folder I make a ton of patches but only a few of those would ever make it to the favorites list - hence the desire to always launch on favorites.

Maybe 3-5 separate people could be doable but reaching a consensus on a forum…never! 😉

Thank you again Matthew, the app is lovely but bothering to listen and engage is priceless.

That's how I end up using an app, but maybe not how people start using the app when it's new.

It's weird that this is still a problem, given how well Apple gear works with other Apple gear, yet it is.

I’m SO excited for it…the Prophet 5 was my dream synth and the fact there hasn’t been an iOS emulation yet is mind boggling . You’re gonna knock this out the park!

That’s a good point, I’m the same, two distinct phases, perhaps an option in settings?

When I first get an app I quickly play through every preset and favorite what’s interesting regardless of who made it or what bank it’s in.

I might refine this favourites list down further later but once that’s done I’m only interested in the favorites and any new things I create or the dev adds. In that regard, another criminal offence for a Dev to not highlight any new patches for quick assessment.

Perhaps we are looking at a lot of purists on this forum who only create their own patches from scratch and never touch presets 😉

Always find it helps my workflow to only have categorised patches that I know I like. No good auditioning in the middle of writing for me.

-1 on opening the app in the favorites. It's like two taps to get to favorites when you want them. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I need less, not more, encouragement to stay in the same old rut. I either tap the preset browser or the random button first thing. For me Favorites is a fall-back for when I don't get inspired by trying anything new.

  • +1 for favorites

  • No one else have crackles when switching presets or toggling switches?

  • Why would anyone save sounds that put or keep them in a rut? I’m only favoriting sounds that inspire me.

I did also say consider (Matthew’s decision) making it an optional setting for those that understand and want it. More considerate than just voting down an idea. The one touch random button and main categories would still be there.

Anyway, moving on, one other thing that would also be helpful, when in a category, is for the favorites star ⭐ to actually be visible, without having to click on a preset to see it.

Just small improvements that could help without hurting anyone. Neither of which change how good the app is already.

This guy is a joy to watch. Absolutely love his playing.

For anyone curious about the raw sounds, he really takes his time and plays them for real without any effects.

And the Wurli gets plenty of attention too, if that’s what you want to hear. He really makes it sing.

  • Oh, the app is still $5 if you want to grab it while it's on sale

  • How does this stand against Klevgrand Elpiano, it feels like they have a lot in common (even size). It's not too long ago I got that one and that's one reason I'm not getting this. Another: I'm never been a huge fan of electric pianos.
    Anyway, just curious.

I bought ElPiano about 6 weeks before Retro Keys came out. I think I prefer Retro overall. I’m a big fan of electric pianos. I probably wouldn’t have got Retro if the intro price wasn’t so tempting.

I’d say watch the videos first, and if it looks like something you’d have fun playing, grab it. Not just because it’s $5.

And if you’re on the fence, AudioKit usually does big sales around July 4th and Black Friday, so there will likely be another chance later.

Although, $5 for a handmade, non-vibe coded app made with real instruments, exclusive samples and real studio time recorded by a Grammy-nominated engineer is honestly a bit absurd in today’s world. Probably won't be many like this in the future...

  • Appreciate the preset update. Good stuff

Retro keys is a better value / tool Elpiano is nice to have, I feel that it’s boxed itself as niche with the way they dumbed down the ui, but that’s the charm of Klevgrand apps I suppose.

Retro keys has just an ass load of quality sounds for 5 bones. It’s my default piano samplers when perusing piano motifs. You can get some cool sounds out of el piano and it has a distinct ‘ting’ element, but yeah. Niche elemtals in Elpiano for me, retro keys - a multipurpose toolset.

  • No one else have crackles when switching presets or toggling switches?
Or is it my phone only( iphone 13)

  • Yes, same on my M1 iPad Pro 12.9" with iPadOS 26. It's not terrible but some crackles occassionaly.

  • @meek3 @Pierre118

Thanks for asking. Some users were getting stuck notes. To help, the app does a pretty aggressive note-off when changing presets, and that can sometimes cause clicks.

A few of the effects can do it too, because of gain staging or restoring state. To be fair, some of those little clicks are part of the real hardware too, like when you switch on Chorus.
