Sem works fine for me. No Connection Panel bug either. Please make sure to test it after rebooting your iPad and making sure there's not much going on at the same time, otherwise we're potentially mixing up actual bugs with just regular nastiness that happens after a fresh update with lots of apps active.

I don't mean to say it is AB's fault, since I know nothing about iOS, I only report my findings for others to verify...
For me, things ran much better before this 8.3 update...

    I rebooted twice already

@Flo26 and @Bootsy and @Sebastian: Many thanks for advice!! :) Sorry for late reply, I had to go to work outdoors. But my problem with Multitrack Daw (which was: cannot hear what I record) is solved. Indeed set the input monitor on in the menu, was the solution. Stupid me; I was convinced it was a bug, but it turned out it was a setting. Great forum this is.

  • Unless auria pro requires ios8, I'm staying parked at 7. I do hope ifunbox is just needing an update. If apple is requiring iTunes for file transfer I wouldn't like that- Ifb makes file transfer so easy and iTunes doesn't. Not sure why it would be blocked, it's not like jailbreaking, you still can't access system files. Maybe apple should buy ifunbox and incorporate it into iTunes.

I rely on iFunbox for, for example, adding waves to Z3TA+ - so that would be another downer for me if it didn't work.

Indeed iFunbox doesn't work with PC here too, which is a downer for me too. But with iTunes I manage to export files from PC to Air2. To copy files from PC to Pad via iTunes: scroll a bit down in iTunes to see the apps and chose the app, I did it with Audioshare. Then drag the file from a PC file browser to the right screen of iTunes. And the file is visible in your app on your iPad (in iTunes File Sharing). Don't know if this works with Z3TA+. So iTunes might be a help (I liked iFunbox much more though).

  • Being able to transfer folders rather than having to zip them is why I like ifunbox.

Erm, whatever was going on it seems to have magically fixed itself, all the apps now appear so yay. And no i'm not going crazy. :P

  • I've been using AudioShare's 'Wifi-Drive' and 'drag'n'drop' of multiple files onto the Safari window and all files get uploaded into AudioShare, unfortunately folders won't transfer, but selecting the folder contest and dragging that onto the Safari window works... (tested with >100 files).

Audioshare will open zips for you. Easy to make in finder and almost positive it will transfer faster because it wont need to broker 100+ connections.

  • @syrupcore I know AudioShare handles ZIP perfectly that's why i see no real need for iFunBox anymore.

Those apps that still need 'iFunBox' to function properly are perfect examples of bad iOS integration.

In my opinion all apps that are able to generate/import files should act as 'iOS File Providers' to make it relatively easy to exchange/access/transfer files between apps.

Better yet, iOS should have a 'service' that makes all 'iTunes Shared' folders on the device available thru the standard iOS Document Picker to all apps that support it...

Who knows, maybe this is an iOS9 feature ;)

  • Diy Importing waveforms into synths ie animoog was sort of illegal that's why I can't see that being brought in. It was a hack.

  • Well, it should give Moog an idea that there are creative Animoog users who wan't to do some further experimentation with their app :)

Don't know if it's the same 'team' Moog has for Filtatron and Animoog but maybe they are cooking up something...

    This would be essential since............ever

  • @obiwahnkentobi @Samu
The point with iOS File Providers and Document Pickers, and iCloud, are that such a service is not needed! Apps will need to update and support it, though. I would be very surprised if Apple added such a service to support non-updated apps.

  • Pffff, using Apple devices feels like living in some kind of non-benevolent dictatorship. I could live without iFunbox if Apple actually made iTunes file share anything less than awful, but we are on iOS 8 and that still hasn't happened.

It's almost like they actually begrudge the existence of a file system, so determined are they to hide it. So in the name of making the device easier to use we have devices that are a massive pain in the arse to use if you actually want to be productive with them.

  • What I feel Apple needs to do is to cut the 'iTunes-Dependency' when it comes to other files than media and apps purchased from iTunes Store.

Meaning there is absolutely nothing that prevents Apple from making the 'iTunes Shared' folders appear in OS X Finder/Win Explorer when attached using USB-Lightning cable. The 'home' folder of each app should still be protected from deletion, rest should be read/write enabled. iCloud could even show the content of the devices iTunes Shared folders as these should already be backedup upp in iCloud anyway so there is no reason not to show them.

Making everything go via iCloud/DropBox etc. slows things down when all that is needed is 'local transfer' between two folders...

Did i understand this right: with iOS File Providers and Document Pickers, i can use my Sample Lib @all Apps?

How?, I dont know this...i JUST wanna use MY files from one DIR @ all over my device.

iCloud is NO Solution without WLAN in my Studio!

  • If all apps implemented 'iOS File Picker' we could store all our files in say AudioShare and access them from all the other apps :)

  • yes...IF.... ;) i still have not ONE app that makes use of this (besides Audioshare)

  • Well, maybe some day 'File Provider Extension' will be a mandatory requirement for apps that can create/manage files and gone are the days if 'iTunes Shared Folder' and hopefully 'AudioCopy.app' will be forgotten for good too...

  • yes , this would be nice

  • I think the price for a stable ios system is a closed system. To keep it stable, Apple constantly tries to frustrate programs like iFunbox.

A pity I can't backup now my .band files from Garageband to my PC. Only if you have a Mac you can backup .band files.

iCloud and iTunes are terrible. iFunbox is much more flexible. If you use it the way I did I don't think it destabilizes my system. But perhaps if you are stupid or have bad motives you can destabilise the system with it. I am not that technical, but I think that is why Apple choses to block programs like iFunbox.

  • Has it not been disabled to stop people taking all the samples out of apps like iMPC and iMashine?

Or maybe that's a factor at least?

Certainly it seems this will not be possible going forward.

I was really updating this weeken, but now...iFunbox is essential to me.

I Apple want to kill soft like iFunbox, let's put cards face up. No more "This version include improvements, bug fixes, bla, bla, bla". And Apple is unable to provide a proper file sharing system like a File explorer included in every desktop system a lot of years ago. And of course, they assume all of us are 3G/4G in our device and Wlan everywhere we go...

There's a close line between extrem control and ¿tyranny? (EDITED)

Sorry for the speech, but meanwhile, I'll keep running on 7.1.2, the better I can.

  • Hmm... looks like iExplorer (for mac) still offers to access document folders of apps.

  • That's good news @Sebastian - so at least Apple didn't somehow prevent it for good. I have that too. So, it's likely that iFunbox can be fixed to work with it. Let's hope so.

  • It's not really tyranny when Apple have always made it clear that they want a sandboxes system and that they will seek to close down loop holes in this system like jail breaks and 3rd party file access systems.

If you don't like those apples there are plenty of android or windows phones and tablets you can go and use.

  • Are you sure about iExplorer?

This is from the front page of their site .....

App folders in iOS 8.3 are empty. Why is that?
    Last Updated: Apr 09, 2015 09:46PM CDT
We are currently investigating how the iOS 8.3 update blocked access to the Apps directory, and we are looking into ways around it. All iDevice transfer utilities seem to be experiencing this exact same blocked access in iOS 8.3, so it's not just a bug with iExplorer or iBrowse. Apple has definitely changed something with the way apps can be accessed in iOS.

In the meantime, as a workaround, to transfer app files from your iPhone or iPad to your computer, you can go to the Backups section instead since iTunes backs up both the Documents and Library subfolders of an app and click on the Backup Explorer section. Then, just find the app in the list of folders (every app will be listed as their bundle ID in a reverse domain format (com.developer.AppName)), and you can simply drag/drop any files to your computer or right-click and choose Export to folder.

This issue only affects the Apps section of iExplorer or iBrowse for iOS 8.3 devices. All other sections should be fully accessible.

  • iFunbox works on my Windows 8.1 machine.

Anyways, I've just been so exited about Siri finally speaking Swedish that I haven't been able to test anything. Just had a lot of long, kinda philosophical, discussions with Siri over the last few days.

I agree 100% about sandboxing. Another great thing it does is prevent viruses. That's a big advantage over desktop computers and android.

  • Sandboxing...yes, I buy the concept. And tyranny is a rough word...Sorry, Mr. Cook :)

By the way, there was a time when Mac was running only Mac iOS with computers with RISC Motorola processors.

So "closed" is a term that depends a lot of the market preferences.

But you haven't to convince me, since I have a Galaxy Nexus as cellular, but all my apps are running iOS.

I can't even name about illegal apps running in Android devices because is too much scary...and illegal, of course.
