No manual at all for this, I did find a video that explained how intuitive is but for me it is very unintuitive. No real explaination of anything whatsoever. I get the concept but could not get it to make any noise. Tried with sampletank, maybe that was not a good choice. I'll try again when I have a little more patience, some day.... In the meantime, I'll happily await the launch of Auria Pro before I start using midi.

  • @fjcblanco Thanks Mister Blanco....

  • I like it. Had it synced to Loopy sending notes to Tera. One nag so far is that when inside the individual clip edit modes - the play head doesn't sync. Have to manually hit play at the right moment - this worked ok but not ideal. Worth the $2 for sure..

  • Yes, so there is. Thanks very much fjcblanco, I just put it in my Adobe reader now....

  • @fjcblanco - thank you for the heads up on the sale and for the link to the manual.

I had a track with iProphet and Thumbjam running through IAA, but now when I load the song, it automatically starts iProphet and Thumbjam but doesn't produce any sound.

  • I assume it can do chords? If so how is the velocity handled as notes will overlap. It reminds me of Ableton and I know I hate fiddling with those overlapping velocity bars.

  • It can do chords. If you want per note velocity, it might be easiest to split them across different clips.

  • I can't work out if I should buy this or not, I don't have a lot of luck with MIDI apps.

  • I'd totally get it for $1.99 - it's not a magic bullet, and there's a bit of a learning curve - but it can be very useful. The automation of midi cc's is great.

Yes, buy it, and then get a refund for the Auxy Midi IAP....... sorry Auxy

  • Not another MIDI addicted here but, for learning, this is the cheapest battlefield I've found.

  • Does Pro MIDI allow you to set up bindings so that you can record/ loop/ playback sequences via MIDI commands from an external device or another iPad? That would make it worth $2.

I bought that over two weeks ago so wouldn't quality unfortunately, though I don't use the Auxy MIDI at all.

I'll give this one a go if it's still available.

  • @monzo

I see, 14-days no questions asked refunds, I thought it was a month

  • Ah might be. I've bought pro MIDI anyway as it's only £1.49. Had a quick test and it picked up my apps ok. Time to read the manual...

  • Any advantages to this one over Genome ?

    cheers.

  • To me, only "Open in..." worth the price.

  • Quite impressed - it's like Auxy on steroids, for a fraction of the price.

  • @monzo How's the manual (remembering that some of us mouth the words when we read etc)?

  • it definitely has what I need : midi in/out per midi port and per midi channel. The undo / redo edit&recording is useful and works without glitches. Ableton-like midi clips are very cool but I have a problem:

Has anyone tried recording from a synth live? I set a 4 bar loop to REC , double-checked midi connections ( tried with Magellan ), played from Magellan's keyboard but no notes are recorded.

  • For £1.49, I'm in!

Pretty good at first glance - I wanted to find out how to trigger individual blocks and it's all there. I also tested putting the triggered apps through AB and this worked well - seems smoother than Auxy which struggled a bit once I'd loaded in the external apps.

Yeah - all good so far. I'm going to buy the AB IAP later so I can use different effects on each instrument.

Thanks boss, will peruse further once I'm done fighting Premiere for money....

  • Definitely a slow burner this one, great value at this price, it's slowly improving with each update. I'm currently preferring Genome because of the song pattern mode but will return to Pro Midi if they make the scenes more Gadget like in playback, which they could easily do.

Is there a workaround for song mode on this?

    How about entering program changes?
