@solador, you can't tell me that's not Different Drummer because I'm the one who laid down 12 minutes of pure DD improv as a Midi controller and then picked 7 minutes I liked with no edits. It's polyrhythmic, tribal and filled with constantly changing dynamics and mixes controlled by DD Automator. I never claimed DD to have the best samples but a) you can load your own and b) you can play other drum sources via Midi and c) you can apply FX via AudioBus or ProTools and d) you can export a MIDI file. I would laugh watching you TRY to program those 7 minutes in the 7 minutes it took me to do it and record it at the same time. You can also quantize it in any midi program if all you want is quarter notes or whatever...you get 8 tracks of drums in your files in Dropbox. Do you even have a Midi editor? Word.
Lol! When you figure out the difference between one-shots and loops, maybe you'll realize that DM1 is a midi editor and the screenshots illustrate a midi editing sequencer, something that's surely lacking from your glorified "midi controller."
Does it have 'shuffle' or 'swing' as an option to humanise the rhythms ?
@davemagoo indeed it has a swing slider which is generally applied at the eight note level however because all 5 waves: note, rest, tie, dynamics and panning are governed by cycles per measure or measures per cycle so you can swing your ties while leaving your rests straight or you can swing your dynamics or you can swing everything...the combinations are frankly staggering and is also why I put dice in there to let you experiment and tweak and then capture and collect what you like.
@solador...then how about I send you a Midi file and you show us how it looks in your editor and I'll show you how it looks in Digital Performer?
Digital Performer? Now there's an iOS app I would pay $50 for.
So you admit that 'notwithstanding everything else' was programmed in DP and not DD? Good to know!
FYI: This isn't a competition between MOTU and DM1 or BM2 or Cubasis.
This is entirely about your overpriced app and your questionable business practices.
FYI...Flo26 has been active in Discchord forums for quite a while.
Guys, I know the developer personally and the nice guy in France who purchased the app, aka Flo26. He is the one who alerted the dev about the forum, that's why both accounts were created on the same day. Stop the conspiracy theories, please. I am a classical musician, teach piano. I love just turning DD all on random and just jam with it. Will post a video of my friend improving on piano with DD shortly (version 1.0, if not beta, I don't remember).
@Trueyorky
So what? Since you've recently joined, you've only posted in the DD thread in support of the app.
@Bachmuss
You don't fool me either Mr. I Signed-up 30 Minutes Ago!
Online proxies are a wonderful thing for the dishonest and corrupt!
@solador78 are you secretly thinking of getting this app with that $50 worth of cards you are sitting on ?
Are you struggling to resist, flirting with the idea until it drives you insane ?
Just go for it !
Lol! Nope, I bought Vocal Synth (not bad), Vio (pretty good) and a few ibooks. But I think I'll go out and buy a few more cards to get my balance back up just so that I can keep saying that.
@solador, I'd pay 200 for DP, honestly...but back in reality I ran DD into Yamaha and then audio into DP real time, straight up. We all get it, you are not interested, it's out of your trust zone...you have accused us and Flo26 of shady practices for something that took years to develop that even the actual users have told you they liked so what's your goal here...to discredit the app, the users, me? The fun is draining.....draining.....gone. Bye.
Happy trails!
.
@solador78....seriously....wtf is your agenda??
Running out OUR developers from OUR forum is not what WE are about here.
I suggest you reel yourself in...there is a massive difference between voicing an opinion and incessant baiting.
Wow...accused is now tried and convicted! I like the app. If you don't feel it's something that appeals to you, because of the price or what it offers...fine, but to attack a person is just wrong. Some thoughts are better left unsaid. If there's any proof that the dev did anything to mislead others, then I agree that this degree of acrimony is justified, but I have yet to see it.
@technemedia -I hope this doesn't dissuade you from further developing DD. it's got a ways to go, but I like where you're taking it.
@simon ......Now THAT is an edition of 'MONOPOLY' I would enjoy playing!![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
@SpookyZoo
I respect your opinion as a fellow community member, but technemedia (and his puppets) made their own decision to leave after they were exposed. If they want to come back, I'm not stopping them.
@funjunkie27
If you look carefully, you'll notice that I only questioned his character after many other people in the other thread had done the same. Technemedia, on the other hand, personally attacked my own music-making ability without anything to base it on.
@solador78
For the record - I have been active in iOS for two years. What's your excuse!!

jeeez...
So what?
Hey guys, Apple gives refunds if you feel that you've been misled.
with all due respect:what's wrong with you?
If the dev spent more time developing an app that warranted its astronomical price point (ie. Cubasis, Auria, etc.) instead of commanding a legion of fake profiles, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I think the pricing points on IOS are very smart as they ride on the crest of the piracy wave that was spawned on PC where people got addicted to downloading countless apps for nothing.
It now provides a solid platform for developers (some who have been robbed for years) that still feeds the addiction, but reduces the desire to pirate the software as its usually not worth the trouble when you can just pay £.69+ for an app and get regular updates/upgrades/iaps etc...just by moving your thumb or tapping your finger!
Not to mention the crazy level of customer support by the likes of Rhism and Rim Buntinas who also involve us in the creative process eg J_liljedhal....this shit is just beyond anything I could have dreamed of 10 years ago.
.
DD Drum/camera programming: 2 minutes;
Record a little synth jam on via MIDI Synth and AudioBus: 1.5 minutes;
Title: Snake on the Red Carpet;
Music: Priceless
Can we call for a "timeout"?![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I really would hate to see this thread closed, as I think there has been very good discussion on pricing iOS apps here which could really go somewhere. It's also fitting since technemedia had taken an activist pricing approach to iOS, and I think most of the constructive side of the conversation has helped him understand just how different and powerful the iOS music-making platform is.
Solador78, I think we've definitely got your POV. The sockpuppets were obvious to me from the beginning here, and they really should stop. They are a bit disgraceful whether they are employees, good friends, or whatever, and should really stop… they aren't helping the cause whatsoever, and are giving this an amateur-hour vibe. Some have praised technemedia a lot for the way he's been in this thread, but it may be beneficial to be slightly more cynical and realize that he is utilizing audiobus as part of his marketting strategy, and it would pay for him to get sales from this community, and beyond that essentially free testing and QA.
That said, I think we have covered that and can move on.
Even though I have said that I personally feel I can pull something very similar off using Figure, that doesn't mean that there isn't anything useful in this app which could be improved on and made more valuable to users.
I'd say again to technemedia, keep working on the app, take the suggestions and bug reports and make the app better, and significantly lower the price to take into account the thoughts I put into my last post. Make the app more accessible to casual buyers and put the time into building a community around it… use the audiobus site as a very good example!
On top of that, please redesign that app logo!
I almost want to offer my own services out of pity! ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I was going to recommend it be closed or locked if the personal missions to attack/humiliate a human being continue. It's ridiculous and its childish. Don't like it, don't buy it. End of discussion.
As others have pointed out, if you're going to support a dishonest dev that thinks he scam you with fake profiles and reviews, then who is going to stand up for the honest devs? They will suffer there is no doubt about that. And this guy gets away with it, it will encourage others to follow. I personally wont stand for this nonsense.
