Yep same issue for gadget with im1 not having all the cards showing.
    Air ios8 latest.

You too? Thank god I'm not alone here!

    @KING777

Not even "restore all purchases" in Gadget worked. It does kinda irk me, because what did me and dblonde do differently than the rest of you guys? Then again, Korg's on it. :P

Gadget v1.2 crashes instantly on iOS 7.1.2 on my iPad 2 , iPad 4 & iPad Air.

Korg says "Sorry for the inconvenience. We plan to fix this issue in the next update."

"Next update"? God I hope they don't take a few months for that...

This issue is pretty large, I'm sure they (Korg) are running around trying to sort it.

We are their customer on ipad!

I would think and hope a fix would be days rather than longer..

FOLKS, DONT DELETE GADGET, UNLESS YOU HAVE MADE A BACKUP OF YOUR SONGS!

  • Probably time to bite the bullet and move to iOS 8.3... Issues like this will become more common and cause more concern than what now should be minimal stability issues...

Is there a way to backup gadget songs?

  • connect ipad to itunes - then under Application Data (i think it's called) click on Korg Gadget, and to the right you'll see all your songs and user imported samples in a list - drag those onto a folder on your pc.

  • ^ and of course anyone who is able to use iFunbox etc..

  • I have the same issue w/ Gadget not showing the IAPs. The iTunes folder only contains your projects, and wav files for Abu and Bilbao, can't backup user presets etc. iFunbox won't give me access to anything else after iOS 8.3. So deleting and reinstalling Gadget would be PITA.

Yeah! Message is for peeps panicking and deleting Gadget, hoping that a quick reinstall will fix their issues. Some ppl not realising it will also delete their projects.

Hope Korg are reading (ALL) of these threads!

  • lol. PITA has another meaning in hebrew.

Not trying to be a stick in the mud at all here, but could you tell me if the M1 is all that special for someone like myself that already has lots of different synth apps?

  • So before I think of purchasing any of the Korg stuff...They are all locked in at 16bit output? Even if I record in AudioShare or straight out to my DAW I'm still stuck with 16bit? When all my other iOS synths are capable of 32bit I see no reason why I should embrace 16bit.

No stick, no mud. Check out thesoundtestroom's demo and see what you think:

I think it's only exporting audio files that render them 16 bit. AB etc... should be 32 bit.

Listen to the Soundroom demo and you will have your answer. M1 is a rompler unlike most iOS synths.

  • Ah, thanks. Anyone can confirm? I know that's similar to some other iOS synths if you choose it's own in-app rendering as oppose to AudioShare or recording otherwise. I can't accept 16bit output on principal.

    What's the principal?

I just tested iMS20. Audiobus rendered it 16 bit in Audioshare. Recording it in Auria through Inter App Audio rendered it 24 bit.

The original M1 was only 16 bit.

Well, if you are trying to simulate analog gear virtually I figure you'd want to give the app the sonic room to as faithfully as possible emulate the hardware sound. I've always been a bit meh on the 44.1K cap but 16bit output is rather a joke when 24bit is the standard and 32bit is the extra-extra. I can't imagine why Korg would limit their iOS products to 16bit unless they just want to force iPad 1 compatibility. For that matter how hard is it to implement an in-app switch for various output qualities so those with newer iPads can benefit?

  • More so I am curious about Gadget and iMS-20. Animoog I believe does 16bit internal record but 32bit output. Auria I believe is capped at 24bit record (which is industry standard) but I wonder if it then upsamples a 16bit source or is actually getting 24bit out of the iMS20. AudioShare I think accepts whatever native output is up to 32bit so that may mean iMS20 is strict 16bit output.

  • After more tests I discovered you can set Audioshare to record up to 32bit, in which case iMS20 recorded 32bit. Auria recorded everything in 24bit.

  • Experiment:

Have 2 bars with some notes in each, delete the second bar, Then, add second bar again, the notes are back!

    This is a good thing!

Can't remember, but don't think the notes came back (before the latest update)..
And without an undo this helps a little in that area.

Actually they did come back (they don't get deleted) in the previous versions too.

  • They may be second hand trousers, but they're new to us!

Ok cool. Like I said couldn't remember.

    That was quick!

    Hehe

Added: going to be doing things a little different with that added + button.

  • Crazy amount of presets, just crazy I tell ya!

  • By any chance can you import your own sounds/loops/samples into Gadget? I still don't have it but it's mentioned often on here. Thanks in advance

  • @gjcyrus There are two obvious places or 'gadgets' for importing samples Abu Dubai and Bilbao, both with (different) limitations. If you search for these names here you will find plenty of scattered chatter.

Just finished adding my custom drum kit sounds to Bilbao. The process is super easy when downloading them from Dropbox. Tap the pad, then tap the orange Sample button, select Import, then Dropbox, navigate to a folder with your sounds and select one of them.

Now the trick which will save you some time and effort - DON'T close the popup window, or you will have to repeat the same actions for every pad! Just tap the next pad and select the next sound file in the popup window, and so on. And don't forget to save your new kit (program in Gadget)

Btw. it accepts .aiff files w/o any problems
