Guitarism worked in sending Chord changes to Midiband. But I coudn't do section changes as I didnt get a chance to configure it. But will try. Otherwise, the beat plays nice and neat thing, is I was strumming the guitar live on the ipad screen while changing chords in midiband. Pretty cool!
I cracked and bought Midiband, largely for its ability to easily create new styles. Many of the freely available styles can tend to be on the cheesy side, although there are some good ones. After a little initial confusion, I was finding my way around OK. I found that you can browse for a midi file in a normal ios browser, and then download and Open In directly in Midiband, which is great, and it is then easy to create new styles from that. Some work better than others, but I produced usable styles within my first hour of playing with it, and I am sure I can do better with experience. Very cool!
Here is the Rock Style demo i worked on. I had to do a raw mixdown to audioshare cause when I mixed down to cubasis, it played back at 1/2 the speed. This never happened before. So I did the mixdown instead to audioshare. All sounds are Cubasis, Roland SC and Midiband doing all the instrumentations. No overdubs all recorded in a single pass in real time selecting sections and doing melody all on my Axion Mini Air 32 keys controller.
Hey, check out this track on SoundCloud: Musikman4Christ MidiBand Cubasis & RSC ROCK MM4C!
I'm sharing it from the SoundCloud iOS app -- get it here, free: https://app.adjust.io/c1ofg4
So, I've got MidiBand, SoundPrism pro and bs16.
First off, I can't figure out how to load a new style in midiband.
If I tap on the Honkytonk style and then tap load, all I see there is the Honkytonk style. How can I get more styles in to that directory? I have styles in a dropbox folder, but when I go there and tap on one, it just opens up the file to view the contents.
WIERD.
Thanks!
Hi @Ksh Would you be interested in working on an app I have an idea for?
Please contact me if you are. It involves similar midi playing capabilities as midiband, this is why I'm thinking of you.

Anyone know if midiflow can help with sending the correct start/stop message to Midiband? I read the developer uses a Yamaha Motif ES to send the command to Midiband but I can't seem to figure out how to program this. Can Midiflow or Mifibridge do this? Thanks!
There is somewhere feedback/contact with the developer? Ableton link feature could be great...
She used to write here under @Ksh
So it's more than a year since last time?
I really had high hopes for this app but it forgets the midi input and out settings. But while it's active it's fine if you use it with Roland SC or Bs-16i. I even got it to send to 16?midi channels in Cubasis.
Importing A regular midi file as a song is super easy and to create styles from that is also easy but again it takes lots of patience to do it and to get good Pro sounding results you need a good realistic sounding module like Sampletank 2.0
Yes, looks like it. You can try sending her a direct message. I don't remember whether you get an email notification when someone sends you a message but it's worth trying
Thanks mates...
I sent the pm. Let's hope she recieved somekind of notification and come back to say hello
Hey, just had some promising results with Cubasis and Midiband. I also tried Navichord where I had Navichord controlling the Section changes via Midi Channel 2 and Navichord's keyboard playing the Chord track via Midi channel 1 all into Midiband.
All sounds were being done via Cubasis internal sounds. So I. Basically had three main sounds. Track 1 Chord track, Track10 drums, Track 13 Bass. I usually use 11 for Bass, but in the particular Midiband Style, the Bass was in track 13.
Well, i tested both Cubasis' pads and they did control the section changes in Midiband. Wored perfectly, but then, I needed something to control the Chord changes. Unfortunately, Cubasis' keyboard and pads, share the same output midi channel and there is no way to select a separate midi channel for either to play them simultaneously.
But once I introduced Navichord to the equation, then that was awesome!
I was able to do exactly that with Navichord's ability to send midi data via two separate midi channels at once.
But, section changes created a bit of lag at times. It could be that the style is loaded with too much midi data or it could be Navichord. That is beyond my
Paygrade. But seriously, this Midiband has so much potential.. Another thing is that i can't figure out how to remotely start midiband. I really with the developer continued working on this app, cause to get you to make music fast and effortlessly and while having so much fun, this is the real deal man.
Will send a pm to @Ksh , katerina I think it's the developers name. I believe she has a gold mine here but needs more developement. Or even if Cubasis were to buy out this app and develop it along with Cubasis, i honestly believe Cubasis would be a complete Workstation to beat as far as Arranger and Audio recording is concerned.
Wonder if @Lars from Cubasis thinks of this idea. I know that the Arranger crowd is huge around the world and having it inside Cubasis would be so amazing!
Wow, the more i dig into using this Midiband the more I find that it is working better with Navichord and Cubasis. I just recorded some really nice sounding tracks into Cubasis, all midi tracks coming out of Midiband. Will try to do a demo but i would really love to do a video demo of this thing. It really does sound great especially once configured correctly.
The lag that I was experiencing was due to an incorrect split point setup in Midiband so I changed it and that mad a real difference.
@Navichord, would love to know how hard would it be to program a way for Navichord's keyboard to be expandable in size like the one found in Aleph or infinite looper? I imagine being able to play the backing chords and melody at the same time in realtime while even doing the Section changes in realtime all on one single screen in Navichord.
Could this be someday? Navichord is amazing at controlling Midiband.
Hi
Can anyone make a video with midiband 3 and bismark bs-16i (or roland sound canvas) with midi keyboard?

Honestly I lost all hope on this app. I don't think the developer has time to update anymore. Instead I would highly recommend KRFT. This is the way to go because I learned that canned midi loops don't allow for my creativity to flow. This is where KRFT shines through. It allows you to make midi loops yet provides the means to create your own working surface. Part of the surface could trigger cells which could be Variation 1 say for the verse 1 and others for fills intros, outros etc. once you have your whole song laid out as a complete surface, you then trigger just as you would on an arranger, in realtime the parts you want playing. This is the future of arrangers, this is now. KRFT.
Ok but can you with KRFT connect your keyboard and change chords and rhythm like a arranger keyboard ?
No at this point; That's my request for KRFT it may happen. I know in the beta we have midi out which is amazing!
For arranging, even with its possible drawbacks, PRIME seems the way to go. Another option is xmure.
For loop based arranging without chord key follow launchpad app with novation launch hardware and complemented with Blocs composition.
I can make any testing you need but MidiBand seems abandonware IMO.
I try for an hour the xmure. I think it have pretty good sounds, but you have to connect the decibell piano. I try with my Studiologic Acuna , I think to put the midi1 cable to a module and USB to iPad xmure app , then I split the keyboard in to separate zone , zone 1 to USB- iPad -xmure app, and I hope to have a hybrid arranger keyboard with more cables .
You need to combine it with iReal pro musicXML export feature to open in xmure instrument option (the yellow one). Obviously with Dexibel keyboard you will have all the IAPs unblocked.
That's why I recommend LoopCommunity Prime for anyone searching into Arrangers for backing tracks. I still not tried upload own songs into their cloud to feed the app with something is not from their "credit = song" IAP but if it's possible without too much hassle then is a winner for me.
I will love an standalone version with editor and I will pay 20€ or above if it will necessary without doubt but... my bad doesn't seems happen soon. I opened a topic time ago to discuss about it.

It's still a gap in iOS for this issue.
Has anyone been able to get this app to work with 3/4 time signature styles, like waltzes? Seems to have an inherent assumption about 4/4 time signatures.
This app is poorly developed..
I can not find this application in the App Store. Is there any other way to get it or any other application that does the same thing today in the store?
same here cannot find
