  • I think that's Push side-chaining, not really 2 instances. You can already do that, so probably not the AU yet.

  • You all do realize that JL is making a sample slicer sometime after this right.... dude is like the god of iOS creation on the 8th day. He's the reason why iOS holds water, why I believe in unicorns, and that Elvis is coming over later on tonight to lay down some turntable scratches. That's right you (insert politically correct expletive of choice) I said Kymaticaaaaaa

Sometimes I suspect you're a misanthrope Mister K but then I see you all excited like this and I realize that hope is still alive in the world :)

The UI gets better and better. Just wow. The menu icons are tasty. The input and output level meters. Yum. The way the menu hamburger icon turns sideways and changes color when it's open... totally gonna steal that!

Thanks :) I think I saw the rotating menu button somewhere else first, so go ahead.

What is that M/S decoder in the last screenshot? Looks like it is internal to the app based on the styling and the stereo spread control to the left.

Yes, there's internal processing nodes available, for example Mid/Side balance, Stereo balance, Stereo panning, Stereo to Mono, Phase invert, etc..

With the M/S balance, you can set up one bus channel for the mid signal and one for the side signal, with different processing on each. (Like, adding reverb on the side signal only).

I'm also going to add a LR-MS (de)coder, to record with real M/S microphone setups, or do M/S processing in plugins that have separate controls for left and right channels.

How is it that all of those screenshots have multiple instances of Push? All routed to the same instance discreetly from different channels or is that a test app for AUv3?

It's using the two separate Main input and Key input ports, for side-chaining.

Do the little R icons at the footer if each strip mean record? If so, does it mean "include in the record bus" or "record this channel discreetly"?

It's record-enable, yes. All rec-enabled channels are recorded into individual files.

Why is channel 3 the only one with a plus sign? Does that follow channel selection or something?

The plus sign in channel 3 (http://blog.dubspot.com/files/2016/01/AUM-UI.png) is an empty effect slot. Effect slots can be added/removed easily, and the empty ones are simply ignored by the audio engine until you put an effect in it.

  • I don't want this app. I need it....

  • @j_liljedahl Thank you! Stoked for the M/S possibilities.

much love for my fellow man, although I have been known to prefer beat machines when they are in the room.
Hope fits me like a glove.

Yes, I'm planning on making all AUFX apps AUv3, as soon as I'm finished with this app, and some other projects, and adding Ableton Link to SECTOR, and iBridge to AudioShare, and... :)

    I just wet myself.

  • Video of Blamsofts AU filter, and look, it's playing in Kymaticas AUM

So will this export recordings to Audioshare on a per channel basis? Or will it only export one final mix?

  • Awesome stuff JL !

Both! To create a mix, you use a mix bus. In AUM everything is a channel, including mixes, and each channel is recorded to an individual file. Also, the recordings isn't exported to AudioShare, they are recorded straight into AudioShare. The two apps share the same file storage space.

    Amazing!

I can't use MiMix because the added latency...A better solution to have the I/O built in to the host matrix rather than an additional processing app...I'am very latency sensitive..and the labeling is aways screwy...cool app as a band aid..

Agree, but I still use MiMiX because I need the multi-output routing. Anyone know if AUM handles things differently than MiMiX so there is less latency?

looks niiiiice. thank for the dark backgrounds in your apps!
got all my eyes on this one.

I'm not sure about the tan? colors. Not saying I think they are ugly, I just need to study the image longer. So far it's a question mark. I'm not sure the circle colors fit well in there.
May be cool to have a couple theme options. Like a whiter one, a black and red, dark blue and grey?

AUM supports audio interfaces with multiple output (and input) channels. It doesn't add any additional latency unless needed for latency compensation (plugins/effects that introduce latency).

  • Looking forward to this app.

I think this is the killer feature. I already use AudioShare as the central hub for anything/everything music on my iPad, and I constantly copy things to/from AudioShare. To be able to record directly into that space would be awesome.

On that note, could other apps, made by other developers, utilise AudioShare like that? Or is that exclusive to you, as both are your apps? I have noticed some apps have more integration with AS than others. MultitrackStudio for example interacts really nicely with AS, but it still copies the samples/soundfonts etc I think...or no?
