I just checked... Entirely my fault. I looked and the “Display & Text Size” and then “Button Shapes” was active under the “Accessibility” menu. I must’ve turned that on to address some other app issue and forgot about it. Apologies. My mistake!
Oh yep, no worries. I found that setting also, in the meantime. Mela uses iOS's standard buttons and I guess when that accessibility setting is enabled the system adds those shapes to all buttons. It does mess things up a bit. It's a good find. I'll see if I can improve the experience for those users that do use that functionality.
Thanks!
@Nikolozi yes I’m using in AUM, and scrolling from left to right would make things a lot easier, Accessing the compressor/limiter parameters would be my goal.
Yea that’s why I was waiting. I thought 15.1 was out? Correct. Or no. Still on 14.8.
No. 15.0.1 came out, and 15.0.2 is current. These are just quickie bug fixes. Still waiting for 15.1.
@NeuM just found that setting > @shodd71 said:
Cool, thanks for your feedback.
Also, don't forget, you can assign the compressor parameters to the perform view, to access them in portrait. But, of course, you won't be able to see things like gain reduction and the transfer graph.
Gotcha that was why I was confused. Thanks.
I just updated to 15.1. Came out yesterday. Got my Mela 2 on. Had to go to accessibility and turn button shapes off to get the ui to show properly.
I guess that will be fixed in 2.3 or something
Do you all have this setting enabled? May I know what's the main reason, so I can understand the need for it?
TBH, not sure fix is possible. Looks like system decides to make buttons bigger and adds huge semi-transparent background to every button. This does 2 things: 1. breaks the Mela UI layout, controls get pushed around. 2. Makes everything look ugly. The second point is less important if this setting somehow helps the user.
But either way, I'll investigate this issue further.
@Nikolozi its actually not as big deal you just need to know about it. It’s one button in settings and you’re goo. mine is fine. I do not recall ever switching that button on in settings, maybe the update did it. it looked really weird at first with opaque circles around each envelope and lfo, things overlapping, and when you selected an envelope or lfo the highlight that shows what one you selected was not lined up with the right one. So I clicked on lfo one but it looked like I was on amp envelope or something like that. However I read this thread saw what you advised @NeuM to do and it completely fixed the gui. The weird thing is I’ve never seen that setting before, I’ve used accessibility, but not that setting.
Thanks, good to know.
It does feel like I want to address this issue still. The easiest way is to not use the system buttons and just create custom views that are tapable items. But that may produce other accessibility issues for those users who rely on the system knowing which items are buttons. I'll have to look closely what accessibility features Apple changed in iOS 15 and see if I can do something about this.
Yea kind of a weird one, good luck. Love the app, Love the update. Congratulations on the new version.
Thanks 🙏 😊
Mela Synth 1 as an efx in AUM can do really cool things! I tend to forget to use synths as efx.
Don’t forget that if you have Mela 1 you have a better price for Mela 2. I can buy Mela 2 for 20$ or upgrade for 14$. If I upgrade, I guess that I will keep Mela 1?
That's right, Mela is not only a synth but a multi-fx AUv3 😊
Correct, if you buy the upgrade bundle you get to keep and use both Mela 1 and Mela 2.
@Nikolozi is it possible to add a way to move presets into banks. a way to split up all the presets in my user folder into separate banks. I created banks to separate the patches shared on your site into their own individual folder, but I’m not sure the best way to move each patch over to the bank. Can you do this in files maybe? I’m hoping to Bulk move presets into a bank, or ability to move patches, instead of saving one at a time in the new bank. Thanks.
Love the updates, and the app, compression was a great addition! Cheers mate.
If I understand your problem correctly is that, you currently have all your imported presets in the User preset group and you want to move some of those into separate presets groups (that you've created). The best way to do that would be:
This should be much faster then dealing with individual presets. I'm being careful not to add too many file manipulation features inside Mela.
Thank you, great to hear!
Version 2.4 is out:
Text Input:
Settings:
User Interface State:
Other Changes:
That is a great idea, thank you very much.
New update! Mela 2 available for Mac. New presets, and some other good stuff/fixes.
Did you get it for free?
(It seems to suffer from the same 'glitch' as when an iPad app goes universal it looks like you have to pay for it on the iPhone).
I'm still running the TestFlight version...
The update is free. I was just tweeting about this. If you purchased Mela on iOS already you won't be charged again. You will have to click "Buy Now" and once you confirm purchase, it will say the update is free. It's very frustrating that Apple hasn't fixed this issue yet. It's very confusing to the users.
