On my iPad, ios 15.1, mic permissions show in Settings for both Loopy Pro and Microphone?
when you are not plugged into the interface, does it show microphone permissions?
It does not. Yeah I don’t know, maybe it just doesn’t support my interface for some reason. I’ve spent over 2 hours dinking around with it this and it totally killed my vibe. It works fine as an effect in AUM; I can still mess around with it like that for now and maybe it will work someday in the future. Not sure if I’m ready to justify a $30 purchase on something I can’t get the full use out of right now
I also took a dive into some of my other accessibility settings just to see if I had something on which may override this, as I know sometimes iOS is funky like that with secret settings, but I don’t know what I’m looking at with most of those settings and I never touch them anyways.
Bummer, too, cuz this looks super fun and useful for my workflow -_-
Any other advice would be appreciated
Did you try deleting the app, rebooting, with no interface connected, reinstall and launch.
Make sure it works with internal mic before connecting the interface.
This seems like a freak occurrence. I’ve seen similar reports.
Yup I did all that. Ran calibration. Tested with internal mic. Just seems like it doesn’t want to recognize the audio from my audio interface. I tried various sample rates, etc, as well. I feel like I tried everything you can possibly do, it just doesn’t seem to even ask for mic permission or even if it is recognizing the I/O’s inputs and outputs, it’s not ‘listening’ to them? Or iOS is not letting it through?
I know there are sometimes sample rate sync issues on iOS with audio interfaces depending upon which host applications you use ‘first’ and this sets some kind of invisible background settings - not that this would be the issue, but just another example of all the weird ‘hidden settings’ they implement sometimes….I also know there are some ‘zombie audio’ issues on iOS, like Spotify randomly popping up and other nonsense. Unless it’s just a weird bug that I’m experiencing, or some weird setting that I might have turned on in the past, I really can’t think of any other reason.
It’s a simple class compliant audio interface, I’ve never had this issue with other host programs? Does the ‘hardware gain control’ need to be selectable in order for me to be able to use my Behringer with Loopy Pro? Cuz that would kinda suck. I am planning on getting a much bigger I/O someday soon, but I’d love to be able to use it now 😭
I’ll update my iOS version sometime soon too, see if that helps….although I don’t really like doing that very often hehe
So, it works fine with the internal mic but not your interface?
Correct
I figured it out!!!
It was in the SCREEN TIME settings! When I searched for microphone in the settings it never came up. I don’t remember changing this setting but it’s good to know in case other people have this issue!

I'm a little confused by your responses.
First you said you could not access the iPad mic, but the audio interface was OK. When you have an audio interface connected, the internal mic is normally disabled. iPadOS only supports one audio interface at a time. So you would need a mic connected to the interface.
Edit: And you posted a screenshot showing Hardware Input 1+2, which must be from your audio interface.
Microphone permission only applies to the internal mic. It only appears in Settings (both app Settings and Privacy) once the app has requested it. Typically, the first time you start an audio app, there's a flurry of these requests and the popups all overlap, so it can be difficult to respond to them all. When you see that initial mic request, all you need to do is answer yes or no; you're not sent to Settings to change it. And the result of that initial request is what's recorded in Settings. If the internal mic works in stand-alone without the interface connected, then you're all set on that score.
Yeah the internal mic was working, the audio interface ‘showed up’ but didnt work. But it’s working now. It was because of the screen time settings, which were preventing any microphone access apparently. I’m not really sure how/why it decided to prevent access from the audio interface but not the internal mic, but in any case it’s all good now
Having trouble setting up Scatterbrain multi-out in LP. Could it be that LP does not yet do multi-out?
LP isn’t yet multi-out. It is on the roadmap found at the end of the manual
Hi all, no time to read all this looooong discussion but made my google work: I couldn't find info on the required ipad type/model for a standard use, not pro, not minimal, a few plug in instruments and effects and some microphone...
I tried with my tired ipad pro 1st gen (2015), not usable so I will upgrade: to ipad 2018-20 (A13x-z) or shall I go directly with ipad 2021 (M1) to be on the safe side (but almost double budget)? Thaaaanks a lot!
Why do you say unusable on that pro? What problems did you have? make sure to report them to @Michael .
it is perfectly usable on my iPad 6 which is no more powerful than the 2015 pro.
Something's not right there. I use an ancient Air 2 and it is just fine!
Whao! I tried to record audio loop from microphone trough external sound card; first loop it semi-freezed with strange noises when I replay (in parallel I had 2 vst, cpu showing around 40%)
I will format my ipad and make another try...
This is not usual.
Were you using headphones or speakers?
What do you mean by VSTs? VSTs don’t run on ios?
What hardware and OS are you running?
This is so unusual I wonder if something was amiss with the setup. There isn’t a reason to reformat the iPad.
Before testing with your audio interface. Did you do a simple test with the built-in mic?
I'm not on the discord. Can someone let me know when the next update is due?
Dates aren’t provided on the Discord channel either. I think it’ll be pretty soon, but maybe not.
Hi, I have a strange setup actually, I have a Boss RC300 that I am using for some times and I wanted to have it to send midi clock to Loopy pro (I'm a drummer so my hands ar often busy when looping). All going through Komplete audio6 mk1. And it looks like this was the issue because as soon as I unplug the midi cable this issue disappeared, possible???
Now works just fine with or without the audio interface, also working with vst instruments etc!
You probably had a midi feedback loop. If so then you may be able to fix it and keep the midi plugged in by ensuring that Loopy and/or isn't sending the mk1 isn't sending midi clock and isn't routed back to the RC300.
Why do you ask?
Just an idea or something on my wish list. Wouldn’t it be great if you could click on a pad and it would fade out for a number of seconds or bars.
If anyone knows how to achieve this already, then answer on a postcard please.
On the button settings, select the target clip(s), then Clip Actions > Play / Stop (Stop) > Fade In/Out. Turn off "Use Default Setting" to expose the Fade In and Fade Out sliders. Only seconds, not bars are available though.
Finally finding some quality time with loopy but I’m stuck…
I can’t figure out how to map a midi control from one of my auv3 (random matrix inside of Factory) to my Korg nanokey knob.
Isn’t this possible in loopy?
I understand AUM has midi learn within the auv3 window, AND you can map parameters IN there, but I can’t figure out how to do that in loopy pro. (If that is possible)
Midi learn in loopy only maps to loopys’ main controls as far as I can tell, but not auv3s.
https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=loopy_pro_midi_map_effect_parameters
Currently auv3 effect parameters can be mapped. Instruments aren't mappable yet but will be.
Many thanks @wim I knew there was a solution hidding under the hood.
Der, just stepped into idiot mode.
I have before managed to automap my Launchpad Pro to Loopy Pro and now for some insane reason now I cannot.
I have autobind set in Loopy Pro. Now I know that the Launchpad Pro should instantly autobind just as it would with the Launchpad app. What steps do I need to take?
Turn on Launchpad first? then Loopy or vice versus? Since neither work.
Should Turn on Launchpad, put it into live then, turn on Loopy or reverse?
I know that Launch Pad Pro is talking to loopy since if I turn off auto binding and bind to individual clips it works, I would do this across all 64 pads but the only problem is the Launchpad pads remain unlit until I press a pad, this is great but in live situation I am left with a blank slate.
Sorry if all this has been covered before but now am going nuts
Any help would be much appreciated.
Don't you need to set the LPP to a particular mode, maybe "Green"? I believe this was discussed in this thread. See this.
