yeah, very useful
Total game changer for recording perfect loops!
Launchpad is great and I always like similar style hardwares. Just I will not pair a hardware as the main controller to a software host because the pace of GR2 development will eventually outgrow the hardware, by far. I would rather just use GR2 on iPad and pair with a controller for real knobs, faders and pads
Total impulse. I was so excited about the integration of pure acid and poison 202 that I wanted to try this for the deal I got (for $400 regular price no way I would’ve done it but since I have no idea what it does, I’m excited to be surprised - if it’s not useful I can return or sell ) just for the fact it was made to work with the app specially … if it isn’t worth it, ILL know soon
This is what happens when you got no new guitars to lust after.
(Or is it that the wife may not notice another electronic thingy, where there's no way she'd not notice another new guitar?)
Nail on the head
^ this guys good 👍
U will be fine as Launchpad has been tested by Ableton Live users. My point is no hardware device keeps up with app development, especially highly visual oriented apps like GR2. But I do agree Launchpad itself is a giant touch surface too which should be your best bet.
She will never notice another new app wahaha
Edit: Another reason why I use midi controller apps. Keep only 1 7 string classical guitar and 1 5 string bass.
Nah man , it was my bday two weeks ago, I had $100 in GC credit, and they had a used one on sale, or maybe it was mislabeled without cords because he confused it with a mk2 at first…but it was one of those prices that you say to yourself if if I don’t take it I’ll regret it for the rest of my days using the app…yeah it was better than even THAT price, I actually couldn’t believe it when I saw it: so I said f— it, I can return within 45 days [or if someone wants it here I’ll offer it for like $200 or so within US or I’ll buy the extended warranty on it and sell it for more since these go for $400,] which is crazy for a $35 app but I didn’t know what the launchpad pro was until now, so seeing that it’s an ableton live controller makes it make sense why it’s $400 - this is pro grade stuff just like GR2
I can’t wait to see what they do together. Between poison and pure acid and this, gr2 is shaping up to be the ultimate music station for the iPad
Edit - that’s why you gotta have more than 7 guitars - you can use them as excuses “oh honey I’m. Just trading one” and she’ll never know the difference
i've just sent my Launchpad X and Launchpad Mini mk3 to the developer.
so i guess we can expect these two supported in some reasonable future.
NICE!! Yes, he had responded to me regarding the LP X, but i was unwilling to part with it. Way to take one for the team!
👏
the MVP!!
Wow, that's awesome. Thanks!
After experiencing QWERTY Keyboard on Koala, I quite like it and I hope every app will support it
Oh he’s supporting the $99 mini! I could’ve gotten that for $100 new…darn it impulsivity…Well; I can always return it.
I wonder if there’s any advantage in keeping the pro over the X or the mini?
i guess the answer is yes.
most of additional Pro buttons are used, so on cheaper models some functions are going to be available via cryptic shortcuts that you'll have to learn, and some functions might be not available at all.
👍
Appreciated
as for me, i'm going to use LP Mini in live situation because a physical clip launcher is all i need when playing a gig.
but at home my choice is definitely LP Pro since it can handle a lot of editing operations – and that's faster and more convenient comparing to a touchscreen.
Thanks
I wanted to ask you but I also didn’t want to ask you more …
(PS Ok so then I looked at the features and yes the pro does ALOT more than the X let alone the mini so I’m not like regretting it or anything, it looks like it can sequence hardware which is cool
I’m just wondering if the mini would’ve been a better choice size wise because it looks like the pro isn’t small, and the mini looks to be the size of the iPad ; but hey we’ll s ee tomorrow
No biggie ; not trying to make this about the launchpad pro now lol )
yeah, size does matter.
that's why i prefer to have all of them
Surely yes if you really want to touch the LPP instead of the iPad, not so if you use the LPX/m as an extension or "dual screen" of GR2
edit: imagine u use 2 LP mini with GR2, it will be fairly sick
official manual is updated to current version (1.1.2), including new chapter about Launchpad integration.
(also confirming that currently only Launchpad Pro Mk3 is supported)

i asked about using two Launchads.
the answer was that it's more complicated than it seems.
The hardware integration with GR II and launchpad pro is almost as cool as poison 202 and pure acid
Can you import midi data?
No
I have to ask ever so often…does anyone know if P-Locks have been added? I’ve made a request already.
Feck. This means the Stockholm Rex player plugin is useless to me.
Apologies if this has been answered in the thread, but are there plans to allow AUVs as insert effects?
Ohh.. was not even thinking about Stockholm and midi…. Hopefully Jim will implement midi import in the near future…
